  1. Yeah, you just have to look at Donald Trump to see where things come from. Well, he's from rural Alberta living in Red Deer. That's part of it. However, it's like there's a Boogeyman around every corner.
  2. I don't get the LaPo love. He's a lousy HC. So why make him an Asst HC??
  3. Never followed Indy. They're one of about 20 non descript teams no one cares about.
  4. I don't see anything about that, Playing & coaching are two diffrent things entirely. Brady might be an innovative guy suited for the CFL.
  5. They used to give that award out in February at the CFL Convention or whatever it was called.
  6. Rourke has the Canadian Award sewn up.
  7. Agreed but if it backfires & he reinjures his foot all fingers will be pointing to the medical staff & Campbell. It's a significant risk.
  8. I guy I know is an ti everything. Anti vaxxer, anti restriction & anti masks. He was really vocal in his displeasure. I always liked the guy but I have to say that he became unhinged during the pandemic. I really want nothing to do with the guy now. He's become radicalized. Super alt right. All because of the pandemic. He never marched or protested but he's angry. How many silent Canadians like him, are there?? That is why I believe that restrictions will never come back. There's too many people who will refuse to follow them.
  9. Yep, pushing 70.... Seen a lot of great games & players. Heartbreak & happiness. I'm 67. Born in 1955. Started watching the team as a fan in 1965. I remember the 65 Grey Cup & how we lost by 6 points after conceding three safeties rather than punt because of an 80 klm hour wind coming off of Lake Ontario at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto. Bud Grant was critixized heavily for conceding those three safeties. The wind played havoc with the kicking game. Had we punted the ball it would have gone backwards & we'd probably lose by 3 touchdowns. That was the first game where I watched from beginning to end.
  10. Err on the side of caution with Rourke. Yeah, I want to win as a HC especially at the CFL level. But I wouldn't want to be the head coach who wrecked his career.
  11. A lot of Canadians support them. This just gives them more credibility with their supporters. Most Canadians didn't like the convoy protest & the ugly way they behaved. But they do feel their freedoms were taken away. They didn't protest but were unhappy. Maybe the numbers are in the millions. I supported the restrictions at the time. Especially before we had vaccines. People who wouldn't wear masks were crazy. Wearing a mask doesn't take away anyone's freedoms. I was okay with vaccine passports as well. However, those days are gone, Now, if you want to get a Covid booster it's up to you. I doubt if restrictions will ever come back.
  12. I go waaaaay back to the 60's so I can compare eras. This is as good as the Grant Era. Enjoy it while it lasts as it's probaly not coming back for a long time when it's over. This is definitely a generational thing.
  13. Man, can I relate.... I mean that, too.
  14. People who don't like sports or who aren'f fans don't understand why we are so passionate & get stressed. One playoff game back in the 80's we lost the Western final to Edmonton we intercepted the ball by Vince Phason which would have won us the game. The ref called John Helton for RTP when he pushed... just pushed... Warren Moon to the ground, First down Edmonton. Cutler kicks a FG & we ******* lose. Man, I was cursing & swearing, ranting & raving & I almost picked up my parents only TV... a 21 inch Panasonic colour tv & threw it across the room. My Mom screamed & ran out of the room. Even my dad was dumbfounded. I have to say that was the worst I ever behaved after watching the Bombers lose.... All that pent up energy & stress had to go somewhere. Unfortunately, I took it out on my parents. I vowed I'd never do that again. No game is worth going totally crazy over. That hasn't happened since. I think that was 1982. Anyway, when I calmed down I apologized profusely & my folks still loved me.
  15. Every qb hates platooning or alternating. My son was a qb at SFU back in 2014 & he had to do that with the other qb. There wasn't really a starter all season. My son quarterbacked SFU to a win over Dixie State & then started the next week against Iowa State. He threw a TD pass but had 3 intercetions & 6 sacks that game before Jacques Chapdelaine replaced him in the third quarter. Iowa States's DL overwhelmed SFU & Tyler was running for his life. It was then Chap started alternating qbs. Both guys hated it. Just pick one guy & then trust him. Jacques couldn't do that. I was good friends with Greg Barton who played with the Argos back in 1971-73. He shared the qb duties with Joe Theismann his first year & he told me both of them couldn't stand it. They alternated every series not because it was some kind of strategic advantage. It was because HC Leo Cahill couldn't make up his mind who should start. That went on until Greg broke a finger on his throwing hand muid season & Cahill gave the starting job to Theismann.
  16. Back in the day, we only saw 4 games or so on television. I hated listening to road games on radio (sorry, Noeller) as I would have these images in my head as the game went on. I don't get that way when I watch a game. Just radio. I'd get so stressed out & turn the Bomber game for half an hour. Say a little prayer that the Bombers were winning when I turned the game back on. Going to a game or watching on tv, I'm okay...
  17. He'd be an interesting choice. If the Lions ask Rourke to do what Streveler did in 2019 he'd be done & finished as a player by halftime of the semi final. The way Campbell disregards the safety of his players, I wouldn't be surprised.
  18. I have voted in every civic, provincial & federal election in Manitoba & Alberta since I turned 18. I'm 67 now. I'll always vote as that is my democratic right which I take seriously. Things have changed. I've seen good governments turn bad. Politicians & governments aren't accountable anymore. It doesn't matter what political spectrum they are.
  19. Don't trust any government.
  20. What do you think Dickenson & their DC Brett Monson are thin king when they see our receiving corps? They know their secondary can't cover all of our guys now that Ellingson & Wolitarsky are back if the OL gives Collaros time to do his magic.
  21. They 2001 Bombers had lost the Championship game by Wednesday of Grey Cup Week. Yep, this team is all business.
  22. Those guys egos were so big they were in danger of hitting the ISS space station with their heads. They never had any intention of ever playing here. The CFL was always beneath them. Walters as Asst GM tried to tell Joe Mack not to draft them but he wouldn't listen.
  23. I lost my cable service tonight at around 11 pm MDT. My PVR acted up. tried rebooting it & it still didn't work. Thing is, ny tv is frozen. The controls won't work & neither will the PVR. called Shaw Cable. They're techs now go home at 10 pm PDT. They used to be there all night. Not anymore. I pay way, way, way too much for cable to be told I won't have tv service until tomorrow. And yet here we are. No competition as Rogers & Bell have cable service carved up for themselves in this country.
  24. So, TrueBlue4ever, you say things could go like 2021 or 2001 & you never liked the ending of 2001. Well, neither did I? The thing is, do you ever see any of the 2022 Bombers yapping to the media about how great they are? Acting like idiots on the field just like the Riders did this season? Have we ever taken other teams so lightly before we even play them? Can you see anyone off this present Bomber roater act the way some of the 2001 Bombers did? Or like some Rider players did this season? This is a totally different Bomber team than the 2001 team. They're disciplined on & off the field when dealing with the media. They don't do anything to give their opponents an advantage.
