  1. This won't be forgotten. Sure, I'll believe the Chinese because we know they never lie.
  2. Every expert says it is. I'll go with what they say.
  3. Americans finally shot down that Chinese spy balloon.
  4. Demski will get Gittens money otherwise he'd have signed weeks ago. He's waiting to see what the market is.
  5. I've had 5 shots myself with the bivalent in early December. Plus the flu shot. I figured I'd get another one in June. Being 67 & with high BP that I keep current. I've never had Covid (touch wood).
  6. I see those numbers & remember that Lawler got over $300,000 last year. Duke Williams got over $225,000. Drew Desjarlais a FREAKING GUARD got $225,000. I think those numbers Gittens signed for are doable for Demski. He won't be making $185,000 a year. It'll be slightly more like Gittens.
  7. Colin, just what have you been drinking today?? "Let's not let our hatred of Ambrosie cloud our judgement????" Wow, WTH??? The Alouettes aren't in good shape. They're hemorraging money losing in the millions. They only average 13-16,000 per game with season ticket sales of about 4-5,000. They've been in trouble financially since the last Als dynasty ended after 2009. The league doesn't have the finanacial resources to support the teaam like it did in 2018-19 because of the pandemic, No one is rushing in to buy the team. Read the stories in the media that are starting to pop up. More & more people are beginning to realize the team may fold. And it's the CFL's fault as it all could have been avoided. The decision to bring in a 90 year old owner was both Ambrosie's fault & the BOG's.
  8. GMs don't care about a list published by sites like 3DN. They know who & who are the top players.
  9. Read this article today from the Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette who is the beat writer for the Als. Read what he has to say about Ambrosie. It's not very complimentary. He places the blame directly on him just like I do. If someone doesn't step up & buy the team then there won't be a team in Montreal as this time it'll fold. Yeah, Ambrosie does have a say & his advice influences the BOG's. He's the point man for the league. He finds potential owners or the potential owners find him. He makes recommendations to the Governors as to who he thinks would be the best ownership for any team on sale. He's supposed to vet the interested parties. Ambrosie says to them when he's ready to do so that, "This is the one". So yes, this fiasco is on him. Bringing in a 90 year old owner & rejecting Eric Deslauriers group in 2020 with French Canadian backers ready to take over was a huge mistake. Ambrosie rebuffed them twice & now it looks like they don't care anymore. Zurkowsky has reported on the Alouettes for many years & was inducted into the Broadcasters & Reporters section of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2008. He's also the guy who broke the Kavis Reed salary cap kickback story in 2018. His credibility is impeccable. CFL commissioner is silent as Alouettes twist in the wind | Montreal Gazette
  10. Greg Olsen is pretty good up in the tv booth & keeps improving as Fox's #1 colour analyst this year with the departure of Aikman. Now, he'll be knocked out of the #1 position himself & replaced by Brady next season. I can see Olsen taking off from Fox when his contract's up as he's getting screwed. A well paid screw job nonetheless but something that could cost him $$$ down the road as an analyst. As far as Brady goes, he better be good or fans will mock him mercilessly on social media. Doing tv is an entirely different playing field than the gridiron.
  11. Starting to look more & more like the Andrew Harris situation from last year. Although the Bombers had more concerns about the physical shape of Hatrris than they do about Demski.
  12. His skills were eroding but he didn't have a great team around him last year. He needs, a very good OL, a productive running back, a possession receiver like Gronk when healthy & a deep threat downfield. Into the Fox broadcast booth. Tom will make sure he never does another Super Bowl again which is too bad.
  13. Salary cap with Rourke gone??? Is he serious. They had cap room because of Rourke last year.
  14. This is all on Randy Ambrosie. There was a former Als player from Quebec who had the money & a consortium of partners who have tried to buy the team twice & Ambrosie rebuffed him twice. How that ****** Ambrosie stays Commissioner is beyond me. The guy is a joke. He's killing this league with a million paper cuts.
  15. Yeah, agree, That play lost us the game giving new life to the Argos. Why he threw that pass...
  16. Looks like the Estate of Sid Spiegel may not want to fund the Als operations anymore. They may lose a bunch of free agents. Ambrosie brought these guys in as owners with the principal owner in his 90's so this is his mess. The team could fold. We have no luck with older free agent receivers. They never work out. So, a guy like Weineke in his 20's? Sure, why not?
  17. No different than a player who was injured in the second or third game of the season last year & sat out the rest of the year. I think he;ll be fine.
  18. Fifteen minutes??? That's laughable. No, I'm nothing like Hull. I've never harmed my family with violence. Attacking me for having an opinion just shows you're a fool.
  19. Obviously you're not Catholic.
  20. Not every person close to hin called him a monster. So, nice try generalizing, My take on Hull is this. He was one of the greatest hockey players of all time. One of the game's early power forwards along with Rocket Richard.. He was a handsome looking guy with his blonde locks. He appealed to both male & femalr fans. He always had time for the fans, especially kids by signing every & all autographs before he would leave the ice in warm ups or after a game. The media loved him because he always had that big smile for the camera & a great sound bite. He was an all star multiole times in the NHL & WHA. He led the NHL in scoring three times. First player to score 50 goals in a season. Hull was The Total Package & I was a huge fan. But obviously, there was another side to Hull that happened away from the rink, cameras & fans that we knew nothing about. It was dark & forboding revolving around alcohol. He was an angry man when he drank & took his anger out on his family which is unforgivable. As a father & husband beating my wife & kids would never happen. I couldn't live with the guilt & I believe that iwould have killed myself had I been an abusive husband & father. What he said about Hitler was just sooooooooo stupid. It doesn't make him a racist. Especially if he might have been drunk when he said it. In our lifetimes, we've all said things that we regret & never would say now. So, a racist based on one quote? I don't believe it. Stupid, yes. So, I'll remember him for what I knew of him. A great charismatic hockey player but a man with a secret drinking problem who couldn't control his anger that became public 25 years ago. Just like a lot of other men. Maybe your next door neighbour or your best friend at work who are keeping it a secret. Should Bobby be forgiven? To me, that's entirely up to the families of his 3 marriages. They're the ones who count, really. Sadly, it seems like Hull either refused or never got the help he needed.
  21. Heatley was never held accountable. He pled guilty to second degree Vehicular Homicide & got probation. He went on to play hockey in Ottawa, San Jose, Minnesota & Anaheim so he still made his millions. The fatal crash took place in a residential area of Atlanta where lots of people reside. He admitted to consumimg alcohol before the crash though he was under the legal limit when tested with a breathylizer. He got lucky when Snyder's parents rightly or wrongly went to bat for him when they spoke to the Fulton County District Attorney. They got the DA to reduce charges from first to 2nd degree VH. From what I understand, just with his dealings with his agents along the way & teams he played for, Heatley's not the nicest guy either. But he's forgiven. It was an 'accident".
  22. But if that negligent one off kills someone??? Well.., Heatley was an adult, He should have known that his actions that night were dangerous & could kill someone. He didn't care.
  23. I have a lot of respect for what alcohol does to a person. I have the occasional drink but like you have always stayed away from it. I drank more in my younger & single years. After seeing what it can do, I got the education of a lifetime. Yes, you're right. You didn't mention Heatley. That was Noeller saying it was an accident therefore forgivable. I apologize for the mix up. As far as my personal life, I didn't mention it for sympathy. Just for my experience dealing with alcoholism. So, no worries. I think Hull must've had a hard time dealing with all the publicity he got. That he was constantly under the limelight even decades after retirement & he had no idea how to deal with the pressure that came with it so alcohol helped ( he thought) to calm him down. Instead, he just snapped. I don't condone anything he did or said. It was really bad.
