  1. If the Lions win, I'm hoping for a frozen field & minus 25 here on November 13th. Try playing with an injured foot in those conditions, Superman..
  2. OTOH, Arizona State has a hundred times more money than Guelph. They can afford upgrades but don't want to pay for them. Hamilton should pay for upgrades at Guelph if they're using it for their TC HQ. Bob Young is rich enough to afford it. Good for him & the Ti Cat organization for doing that.
  3. In 1983, we went from Dieter Brock & Nickie Hall as our starting qbs to Tom Clements & John Hufnagel as his backup. I mean Jeezus Christ, talk about an upgrade. With Ray Jauch gone to the USFL & Cal Murphy taking over, the bullshit that was going on at qb was over when Brock was dealt to Hamilton for Clements. Murphy had the same FIFO philosophy that O'Shea has now. . No matter who the player was, if you didn't want to be here you were gone. Players had to be all in or they were out. Brock wanted his contract renegotiated for more money & missed most of training camp & the opening three or 4 regular season games. He had something like two years remaining. Missing camp & then even when he came back, Brock became a distraction so Murphy traded him. Hall wasn't a very good qb & Murphy wanted an upgrade at the #2 qb position. The Riders were willing to give up Huff so he came here at or just before the trade deadline in in October 1983.Thirteen months later, we were GC champs. Brock found out you don't mess with Kindly Cal & in his book, Brock sure had a lot of regrets for his behaviour. I think his agent Gil Scott gave him some bad advice. Being an older Bomber fan here, I appreciate John Hufnagel very much.
  4. I get it. We're just discussing different coaching styles & what motivates players. And Huffer did throw a TD pass for the Bombers in the 84 Grey Cup. To Joe Pop, I believe. Once he put on that uniform & helmet with that iconic W logo on it for us... However, many years later, I met Huff & we talked about that game & how much winning the Grey Cup with those guys meant to him. Once a Bomber. Always a Bomber.
  5. Maybe it is super cheesy but so what as they won the GC as underdogs. Huff's smart. He's been around pro football his entire adult life. He has played & coached for for some of the greatest head coaches around, including Cal Murphy. He's also coached some great qbs in his time. He knows what it takes to win. Super cheesy worked that day. .
  6. Rourke had to keep his foot elevated to keep it from swelling up even when he wasn't playing. So, good luck Superman. You're gonna need it.
  7. LaPo looks like he may be an analytics guy. Stats may play an important part in what he does as a coach. What works & what doesn't. What players play well & who doesn't. Who follows instructions & who doesn't. What players as free agents would be a good fit for his team & who wouldn't. He just appears to be wired that way so naturally the rah rah speeches just don't come easily from a guy like that. That could be mistaken fo poor leadership. I dunno, I;ve never been in the locker room with LaPo to see him interact with his players but he just strikes me as a coach who loves to study film & plot strategy. If he was using analytics in Ottawa then did it ever fail him.
  8. The difference between LaPo & John Hufnagel as a HC shown right here. This may be one of the greatest pre game speeches ever. Playing the Als in the 2008 Grey Cup in Montreal at the Big Owe.
  9. LaPo looked like a man who just got fired. Oh wait...
  10. I do as well. I love Streveler but I just got tired of 5 years of those two dudes Andy Mulumba & Chris Bilikudi being on NFL practice rosters for years & never played a down here. And every move they made like going to the bathroom at some NFL practice facility was reported on here. I never meant to slight what Streeveler did for us on our Grey Cup run in 2019.
  11. A black sheep at qb who could be a possible starter somewhere is Matthew Schilz. I think he has a bigger upside than Evans.
  12. I am but I think some here think he's coming back.
  13. No, the Riders will sign him. The angst. The angst!! No, that's not how it works on social media. C'mon, man.
  14. It's a staging ground for the NHL's planned invasion of Mexico.
  15. That entire Rider OL has to be replaced. Their DL isn't much better. Both are awful. How the hell do you sign a marquis qb when three quarter of the team needs replacing? Blow the damnned thing up.
  16. Williams was clearly the ringleader of the circus that Rider organization is. His words & actions influenced more than a few players. Marino is just a dumb football player. He's a Neandertal.
  17. he hasn't played since before Labour Day. What a horrible waste of money. And we get Paul "Poor Me I Shoulda Got Three Years" LaPolice pleading for Jeremy O'day to get a chance to finish the job. Doing what?? Grinding his team into the ground???
  18. Evans is like Dom Davis. What the **** are they doing even playing???
  19. O'day never fixed the OL & could have done it. Instead he throws $275,000 at a cancerous receiver like Williams. Dickenson made bad behaviour inconsequential. There was always an excuse. No discipline. By the time the Riders HC & GM got it under control the season was lost. LaPo thinks those 2 deserve another season together???
  20. How stupid is it to have LaPo on the panel so soon after being fired. He'd be perfect next year as an analyst but not now. AND LaPo's commenting on his old team. The only one who really brings something to the table on that panel is Dave Naylor & he's part time. It's too soon. he shouldn't be on the panel. The decisions that TSN makes are mind boggling.
  21. Risking injury. Why would we? I'd be pissed if he got a knee or shoulder injury while catching a pass.
