  1. Both. I come from an alcoholic family. There's no difference. Three marriages. Lots of scorched Earth in each family. Believe me, I know. So it's sad.. However, I can tell you that no one who is born wants to be a an alcoholic. They never asked for it.
  2. Alcoholism is not an excuse. It's a disease. And if you had personal experience with it then you'd know just how devastating it is & how it can change someone's behaviour & personanlity. Comparing Hull to a serial rapist & sex offender like Nygard is just daft. I don't agree with what Hull said at all & if he didn't regret it well then he's now in a place where he will be judged for what he did & said in his life. I don't agree with anything Hull said about Hitler. However, there'd be no World Hockey Association without him & therefore no Winnipeg Jets & no NHL in Canadian cities deemed too small to support professional hockey. If you find his views repugnant, then I'd suggest you stop supporting the Jets & the NHL as it was Hull who brought pro hockey to town. You should do everything you can to make sure the team leaves Winnipeg because it was Hull who helped bring it here. Are you going to do that? The man is dead. For now, let him RIP.
  3. I'll repeat as best I can a tweet I saw today from Peter Young regarding Bobby Hull. "Craig McTavish killed two people. Hockey forgave him. Dany Heatley killed his best friend. Hockey forgave him. Ovie promotes Putin. We forgive him." Bobby Hull had his demons & he was far from the perfect human being as he was presented to the public by the NHL as a blonde haired handsome athlete with a huge smile. It was common knowledge that Hull was an alcoholic when he played for the Jets. When he got drunk he got owly & angry. He was married three times because of it. I know from personal experience just how alcohol can make a person crazy or say crazy things. Nobody asked to be an alcoholic or to suffer the behavioural issues that go with it. Hitting your wife or any woman for that matter is totally wrong. Supposedly spouting off about Hitler to a reporter shows bad judgement. However, drinking oneself into a stupor shows bad judgement as well. As far as what Hull allegedly said about Hitler? The Moscow Times??? Sorry, I don't trust any Russian publication or anything they print. If he said it then obviously he was wrong & you have to wonder if the reporter pumped him full of drinks to get that quote.
  4. It's not so much them missing out. He didn't want to play there. Simple as that. Craig Dickenson has created such a toxic locker room & keeps saying stupid things publicly that the really good free agents are just saying No Thanks to playing there. TSN appeasing that ******* fanbase again.
  5. How many people are showing up?
  6. Well, you have a good day then.
  7. I don't think much of Lawrence & a lot of what Ball says is true about him but he's the Riders pbp announcer & shouldn't be engaging this social media **** with him. He'll be unemployed if the Ti Cats want to make something out of this as it's totally unprofessional.
  8. Can you be more specific? I've watched that offense & I don't see the connection.
  9. I miss Romo doing that as well but was he neutered or just decided to stop? It isn't just old guys being out of it but the Mannings are as well. During one of their chats earlier this season they showed Mahomes making one of his crazy looking throws. Peyton told the audience something like this, Hey you kids that are quarterbacks. If you think that you can throw the way Mahomes does, you can't. So forget it as he's a freak". Eli just shook his head yes in agreement. The way Mahomes throws is 110% teachable. The way coaching qbs are being taught these days, the types of throws Mahomes & others make will become a normal thing. Kids are being taught all over the place. My son Tyler does with his qbs in Seattle. He used to throw like Manning when he played & taught that method until two years ago when he switched. He believes strongly that the New Way (as he calls it) is more natural & easier on a young qb's throwing arm,. shoulders & elbows. He said had he learned to throw this way when he was young that he'd still be playing. What Manning said on ESPN was so wrong. He's not Bradshaw's age. He's in his fourties. So, it's just not the old guys that are irrelevant. Two? That first game sucked after Purdy got hurt. How can a 15 year veteran be so damned clueless as a qb??? Why is he even on an NFL roster??
  10. When I saw our Eastern road trip, I just had a feeling this would happen. We don't seem to play up to the level of the better teams. That could be part of the problem.
  11. Hard for Bowness to change the culture in half a season after a decade of the last regime. Then giving the team to Dave Lowry was a huge mistake. It'll take time. If anything, it was Cheveldayoff who kept maurice around longer than he should have. then hired Lowry to be the IC. One wonders why he keeps getting a pass for all the problems this team has had from Chipman. #jobforlife
  12. Just one more point... Glen Suitor has never improved. He's as bad at 35 doing his first game on TSN as an analyst as he is 30 years later doing the same job. Worst analyst on the air right now on any network anywhere. Forde is just BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING.
  13. Steak in the air fryer is damed good!
  14. The thing at halftime with Sanchez is just a waste. He partners with a smiling girl who says nothing of importance & he mumbles a few words usually about the over/under or some other gambling thing. It also has no relevance at all. As far as the networks in the States go, The only guy on the Fox Panel that should be replaced is Terry Bradshaw & it kills me to say that as I loved the guy when he played. He was one tough SOB physically & mentally as a qb. As well as one of my favourites. However, he is so out to lunch about the way qbs throw today. The game has changed. Qbs throw differently today than when Bradshaw played. However, he still thinks they throw like they did in 1975. He thinks today's young qbs throw off balance & their mechanics are goofy. Bradshaw just hasn't kept up. Then again, only a few analysts who were former qbs have. Most guys who played qb in the 70's, 80's & 90's just don't get it., Every network who covers the NFL uses analysts who are in their 60's. Tony Dungy on ESPN & Chris Collinsworth on NBC. The Fox & CBS panels are old, yes. However, they're there for a reason. Ratings. People remember & like them. A career in football broadcasting can last decades based on who you were when you coached or played & how good you were when you did. TSN is the same way. Glen Suitor has been an analyst since the mid 90's & is now in his mid 60's. Duane Forde since the early 2000's in his late 50's. I hate both. They're inferior & should be replaced. But they won't be. Then the panel in studio. Dunigan is 62 or 63. All he really does is pump whatever qb is playing & doesn't say a lot of relevant things anymore. He makes a lot of excuses for bad qb play which is something I don't like. Milt is mid 50's & Sanchez early 50's.
  15. I bury Paul.
  16. They didn't have a winning record even with Massoli in the lineup before the injury. They were way overrated. Including their then HC LaPo who was dreadful in that position.
  17. Nope, you can talk about Roxy's's all you want.
  18. Does Roxy's give out a stipend to anyone who mentions that restaurant's name? Just asking...
  19. We said that last year. One injury to Massoli & it was all over. They're talent is a hundred feet wide & 2 inches deep.
  20. It should. It'd be a travesty to pay him $70,000 Canadian after the season he had. just shows how the league should be opening up the salary cap by a minimum of a half mill. Should really be at least a million dollars higher. Every player deserves more money.
  21. When my son was playing junior college in Northern California. Sometimes I didn't feel like sleeping. So, around midnight I'd leave my hotel & drive 30 minutes to Yreka, CA just to walk around the local Walmart for some fun. Some of the late night shoppers were strange. One time I had on my San Francisco 49ers jacket. There were two Oakland Raider fans. Looking more like urchins than human. Both being like 5'4 inches tall, full of piercings & covered in Raider gear. They followed me around the store hurling 9er insults & telling me how great the City of Oakland was. They were a guy & a gal in their 20;s but they looked about 12. Having been to Oakland I just laughed at them & it really fired them up. Finally they left the store. there were other strange peop,e there. Some looked like lumberjacks. Others like survivalists. Rural Northern California in the mountains is a very interesting place.
  22. Wrong thread... This is non Bomber news. Nah, the way I see it, Lawler & Lewis will get $300 grand. Duke is a waste of a roster space but someone will sign him. Probably Chris Jones.
