  1. Your own reading comprehension needs work. Read it again slowly & then get back to me. I wasn't referring to what you posted. Elks fans don't come to the LD game at McMahon Stadium anymore. There used to be thousands.
  2. Drew Desjarlais says hello.
  3. Jeff Hamilton should write a story about the Rider mgmt & coaches lack of humility. I'd love to read it. Hamilton is saying it starts with O'Day & has been going on since he's been GM. One Rider fan says he heard rumours there'll be a mass clean out of the team & Danny Mac will be GM, HC Buck Pierce & LaPo as OC. If Buck & Danny want to go to those chronic losers then good luck to them as they'll need it.
  4. Spent $275,000 on Duke Williams. He ended up sitting out half the season & not just because of injuries. And was a **** on the field & on the sidelines. Terrible management of $$$ by O'Day. Williams was the ring leader of the Me First Movement on the Riders. He should have been sent packing after that incident on the sidelines on Labour Day to send a message to the other players who felt their actions were above those of their teammates & coaches. But Dickenson looked paralyzed & did nothing. Instead, Dickenson kept him off the field & when he was healthy. He was obviously benched but got paid his full salary. I've no idea why CSEC even owns the Stamps.
  5. You have to live in Calgary to really appreciate just how much Calgary Sports Entertaiment Corporation doesn't care about the Stamps. Absolutely no money is spent marketing the games. No one shows up. I'm sure there are people who have no idea when the next game is. The team is virtually invisible in the city. It doesn't help that Postmedia doesn't print the Calgary Herald & Sun on Saturdays & Mondays. Less people read newspapers so they don't read about the Stamps like we read about the Bombers growing up. Very poor in game experience at the Stamps home games. CSEC took down the sound system before the season started & has no plans on replacing it. Fans have complained that they can't hear what is being said as all speakers are now at ground level now but like building a new stadium, they won't spend the money on a new sound system. CSEC knows the Stamps need a new stadium & a lot of the problems with attendance would be solved with a new building for the team but they refuse to spend a penny on a new facility for the Stamps. Thus, a new stadium will never get built. Ownership is a big concern with the thousand Stamps fans left.
  6. I sure can. I really becamse a fan back in the mid 60's as a 10 year old but my Dad was a hunter & a fisherman. His weekends from May to November was out doing his thing with his friends dependent upon the time of year. Spring & summer fishing. Hunting ducks, geese, partridge & prairie chicken in the fall. As well as deer & sometimes moose hunting in November & December. Going to a football game was out of the question. So, I never attended actual Bomber games until 1968 & 69 when I was 13. The 1967 through 70 football seasons were horrible. In those days, the team won one or in a good year of losing maybe two games a year at home. I'd sit in the Salisbury House End Zone & pay 50 cents a ticket with some of my friends. And 95% of the time, the hapless Bombers would grab defeat from the jaws of victory usually late in a game. Back then, if I saw the Bombers win a single game at home. I was lucky. It was on the road where they really sucked. I went three years watching all their road games on television before I saw them win their first game on tv in 1971. I still became hooked. Crazy as that was. Why would I love a loser? Probably because I loved the team unconditionally as a young fan. To me, they could do no wrong. Number 2 we didn't have the Jets or the Internet. There was no online gambling or fantasy leagues like today. And three, we we weren't inundated by the NFL or other pro sports like fans are today. If we saw a couple of NFL games on tv, that was it. Today, there are way more choices for fans. I feel the Elks fans pain but I don't feel sorry for them as they never felt sorry for me back then. Winnipeg was a lot smaller at that time as well. Yet for years 15-18,000 loyal fans would routinely show up in a 22,000 seat Winnipeg Stadium to watch some bad Blue Bomber teams lose.
  7. Could work the other way, Maybe it would fire up Brady Oliveira to prove once & for all that the Bombers made the right choice with their decision to move on from Harris. Especially, if they played each other head to head in the Grey Cup. Looks like players are locking into 2 or more years with the 50% guarantee on salary.
  8. The rot on the Riders goes deeper than just an overwhelmed head coach. It appears that Rider Prez Craig Reynolds will do nothing. He'll keep O'Day. Meanwhile, O'Day, who is the real problem in that organization & should be fired, won't be. He'll probably fire Craig Dickenson & make him the fall guy but the systemic issues with O'Day will continue.
  9. Riders host the Cup. Team won't be there. LOL. Love it.
  10. Edem is this tough talking trash talking player who always get hurt. He was road graded.
  11. Kill zem. The Stamps OL is dominating the Riders DL. The pompous asshats look pretty below average today,
  12. Even if Harris wins a Grey Cup the Argos paid waaaaaaaaaay too much.
  13. Lots of big plays in the Als-Argos game. TSN talking about Harris coming back. if he does, he'll be fresh for the playoffs & could be a factor. If we played them in the GC & the Argos won, the man would be absolutely insufferable.
  14. Who the frick is Lindsay Hamilton???
  15. I never said that but sometimes you gotta take one for the team.
  16. How can you even compare the two? Demski is younger & in his prime. He's not trying to squeeze one last big payday out of Walters. He'll get what he wants because he's an impact player. There's no question about his durability like Harris had. Demski's signing would be a priority whereas Harris wasn't. Totally different.
  17. You are a Super Fan!! Good on ya!!! Glad we ran into each other at the Banjo Bowl.
  18. I've sat in plenty of cold weather games in my time. Like the 1972 Western Final when the temp at game time was minus 21C. Rain games, snow games, sleet games, blazing sun games, windchill games. If the elements give the Bombers an advantage, I'm all for it. If you can't hack it then you stay home. Have a hot toddy by the fire watching the Bombers on tv.
  19. Ha, ha, You should see Calgary & Southern Alberta today.
  20. I'm fired up. Waiting for the Western Final!!
  21. Demski's not going anywhere.
  22. When you go to bed tonight, don't forget to dream.
  23. Suitor drooling over the prospect of Nathan Rourke returnning next week.
