  1. I used to watch his tv show back in the late 60's & early 70's. He was great but geeky.
  2. Who is saying that? No one. Don't twist things around to suit your narrative.
  3. https://calgarysun.com/sports/cavalry-forced-to-play-concacaf-home-leg-elsewhere-against-mexican-giant-pumas So, we have two billionaire owners in Calgary. Oil Baron Murray Edwards for the Stamps & the Southern family (ATCO) for Calvary FC. We have no facilities in Alberta to play this game here in February as the ground is frozen & it's minus 25. We can't move the game indoors. You'd thnk these two owners with their financial clout would get together, find a parcel of land & start planning a domed or retractable roof 40,000 seat facility for Calgary that is soccer friendly for Calvary FC & football oientated for the Stamps. But no. As usual, this city of nearly 2 million continues to have absolutely the worst sports facilities in North America for a city of it's size as tese owners just go about their business with no desire to build a facility that Calgary would be proud of. Calvary FC plays in a 5,000 seat facility in the deep south of Calgary that is 40 kms from someone who lives in the far NW or NE. It's not the easiest place to access at Spruce Meadows. Their stadium reminds me of old Osborne Stadium with it's peaked roof. Then there's the dump the Stamps play in. McMahon Stadium should have been torn down 20 years ago. There just isn't any long term, outside the box thinking here unlike other cities. I've been here for 34 years. When we moved here in 1990, there were 700,000 residents living in Calgary & there was this "can do" attitude. Now, years later that attitude is gone. We Calgarians like to smugly think of ourselves as "world class" city. We aren'r even close to that. This city is bloated at 1.7 million people. Winnipeg managed to get a new football stadium, arena & baseballl stadium. Here? Nothing like that ever gets done anymore unless it's a hockey arena. Even that took a decade to get done.
  4. Captain Obvious says that the CFL would be happy with 10% of that amount. The Stamps will somehow screw this whole thing up. The way the team is coached. It's inevitable. The Lons did Adams no favours by trading him to Calgary.
  5. For a team supposedly circling the calendar for a Grey Cup home game this coming season, we're sure off to a great start this off season. Noeller has kept telling us the past 3 years that This. Is. The. Year. we go all in. Well, Losing Ted Goveia, Buck Pierce & maybe even Danny McManus isn't a great start. Hopefully this doesn't become a bleak off season with management, coaches & player departures. Hopefully, we do have money left over to sign key free agents we want to keep as well as players from other teams. Moral of the story, you win when you can & not just when you want to. Picking a date only works with weddings. I always thought that, "All IN" for 2025 was a dumb theory to begin with.
  6. What could this mean for the CFL revenue & growth wise if Amazon Prime did buy into TSN & wanted to stream a game a week? Is this the Holy Grail we've all been waiting for? Or will it be like single game betting, A whole lot of promises turned into a whole lot of nothing.
  7. We have a coach who won't move on from players well past their expiry date. I think O'Shea believes that most of hi older guys have at least one more run in them left which is probably what Bud Grant thought as well in 1965 when the Bombers lost the 53rd Grey Cup. The drop off from 1966 to 68 was like jumping off a cliff. A good HC will look at his roster & get younger, faster & cheaper with players of equal or greater ability.
  8. I agree that with all the changes how can we say FIFO is still alive & well? We have no clue. This off season sure reminds of the end of the Bud Grant era which is kinda scary in itself. Once the vets started retiring en masse & Grant himself left, the team was just a shell of what it was. In 1966 & 67, a lot of the core of those 4 Grey Cup championship teams were still here. But they were getting old & their play on the decline. Grant's championship teams had a FIFO attitude as well led by guys like Grant, Ken Ploen, Frank Rigney & Herb Gray. But the one thing present then & now is time. You can't beat time as it's relentless. It never stops. FIFO was all gone by the start of 1968 on a team filled with rookies & second year players who never won anything.
  9. Like I said, I'd like the Bombers to sign him just to see Bomber fans reactions. It would be classic. Lol.
  10. No kidding, Sherlock. Anymore brain busters you care to share with us?
  11. He got dropped because they had what they feel is a better & cheaper option in Alexander. The way he played it would have been crazy to let him go to free agency. Fajardo can still play but with 9 teams there are limited options.
  12. I'd love Faj to sign here just so I could laugh when I see the expletive laced messages Noeller would be posting until his head exploded. that would be stand up comedy level funny. As far as Faj goes, he beat us fair & square. You can go on & on about how shitty he is. How bad his attitude is, blah, blah, blah. Bottom line is that in the biggest game of the year, with everything on the line, he took our defense to school on that last series & won a Grey Cup Championship. Then a month ago Arbuckle did the same. But it's not our defense that was the problem, was it? It was all on zach & our offense. Screw that stupid three man front we used in the 24 Grey Cup. All ******* game.
  13. I can assure you that Kyle Walters won't be asking you or Noeller your opinions as he doesn't care what you guys think. The poor skills & poor attitude qb beat the historic FIFO culture here for the Grey Cup. As did a shitty backup QB nearly a month ago who will never be good enough start anywhere long term in the CFL.
  14. I read that in Montreal he kept telling people that he was going to take it one season at a time. They had Alexander 5 years younger & cheaper. Loose lips sink ships. Saying that reminds me of a Forest Gump quote... "Stupid is as stupid does." Keep your intentions to yourself.
  15. Airplane & Police Squad movies were hilarious.
  16. I just don't like him. That's it. Just like Noeller hates Fajardo. Think that'll ever change? There's no use explaining if you don't get it.
  17. When you chase the dream, you ignore the obvious things going on around you as your mind won't accept it. Like Tyler being snubbed at qb camps at Oregon, Boise State, Oregon State & Washington State. Getting rave reviews from head coaches, offensive coordinators & qb coaches at every college he went to. Asked to do extra private workouts. Yet, never getting that elusive scholarship offer he'd been working his ass off for. Why? He could hold his own against other HS qbs from the US. A lot of times, he could outperform them. Then, the coaches found out Tyler was a Canadian & they lost interest fast. After all, we play hockey & not football. Certainly Canadians can't play qb. We were actually told that by a recruiter at Boise State. Even though Tyler quarterbacked his Junior College team to a State championship in California in 2010. Nathan Rourke found that out in the NFL. My son found that out in college. No one wanted to take a chance on a 6'3 Canadian kid who could throw the ball 75 yards with ease & was mobile. SFU signed him out of JUCO but Tyler knew he was going to a bad program with lots of problems. SFU would have been Tyler's last choice for college but it was the only college willing to take him so he went. Today, some things have changed a bit in NCAA with two or 3 Canadian qbs now playing college football down south. The CFL now employs a couple of Canadian qbs in Rourke & Trey Ford. I just remember Tyler was working out at the CFL Combine in Edmonton. Chris Jones was standing 10 feet away & he never once looked over to watch him throw. He didn't give a ****. That was March of 2015. Back then, doors were slammed shut for Canadian qbs north & south of the border. We should have stopped swimming against the current as a family & got Tyler recruited by a U Sport school. Stupid, stupid.
  18. But he won't be a limited Thomas. We already know that.
  19. Knowing what we know now, chasing that American dream isn't worth it.
  20. It never ends. I get the desire for players to chase a big payday but some guys just aren't satisfied with what they already have.
  21. Not gonna change my mind.
  22. My son Tyler lost two years of eligibility in the NCAA because he played two years with the Rifles. Originally, he was only going to lose one. The NCAA felt Junior football was a "semi pro" so they took away two years of eligibility. They had a dumbass bureaucrat in Indianapolis who never knew what junior football was making stupid decisions. SFU appealed but lost. Meanwhile, in U Sports you can win a Grey Cup as a player & still play all 5 years of eligibility if you aren't too old. It's a joke. Then to make matters worse, my son had high BP even though he was in shape as a player. It's simply genetics. Our family has a history of strokes & heart attacks. He really has to watch himself as he is still on BP meds. He's now 30 lbs lighter than when he played qb at SFU. As a player, he was feeling pretty good health wise but in his second year playing the NCAA ruled that Tyler's BP meds were performance enhancing drugs & was told he couldn't take them anymore & still play. The team doctor spoke to someone from the NCAA & said that he needed these meds to maintain his health. They again denied any appeal. So, Tyler had to see a specialist in Vancouver. They changed up his meds but for 2 years & a year or so after he had finished playing, he felt lousy. Headaches, lethargy, being tired. His BP at times was too high. Now, he's back on the meds that worked for him before once his playing days ended. I think the NCAA is an overbearing piece of **** organization. Messing with someone's eligibility because they lack the proper info to make the right decision is one thing. Messing with a player's health by forcing them to change meds is another.
  23. From the little I care about Trouba, meaning the little I read about it, he wanted out. The guy is a cancer. Like PLD.
  24. Wanted out of Winnipeg. Wanted out of New York. Good riddance.
