  1. I know the distinctions but not in the CFL with just 9 coaches. McAdoo & Del Monaco are listed as the OC's for their respective teams.
  2. I was thinking the same thing, Even though he still has a year left on his $70,000 rookie deal, they better pay him or Rourke's agent better tell the Lions to eff off. No way should he play for peanuts. Imagine the PR nightmare if he held out at training camp. The new owner who is so concerned about public perception of the Lions would have a conniption. Of course, that will absolutely let the dominos loose & blow up the Lions salary cap structure but they put themselves in that predicament. They knew it couldn't last the way it was, although I don't think they anticipated Rourke playing at the level he was. He was sacked & his foot twisted awkwardly.
  3. Jones has always let McAdoo call the plays while Dickenson refuses. He wants to call the plays & not Del Monaco. Which is strange. If you design an offense, shouldn't you be allowed to direct it on Game Day or why even bother? Just coach the O Line, then.
  4. https://www.bclions.com/2022/08/21/nathan-rourke-to-have-surgery-for-linsfranc-sprain/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter The Lions putting on a brave face with that news release.... Probably season ending. I won't dare gloat or say that we've got first place locked up. We all know what could happen if.... Don't even want to think about it. Especially with B2B games against the Riders & that POS Garrett Marino,
  5. The BC Lions just announced that Nathan Rourke will undergo surgery for a Lisfranc sprain. Recovery is usually 6-8 weeks but with surgery, it could take from 5-8 months to heal. That's me looking it up on Google as \i've never heard of a Lisfranc sprain.
  6. The Bombers haven't even hinted Alexander is close to being ready.
  7. From what I understand, he doesn't want to play for anyone else & wants to retire playing his entire career as a Stamp. Pat Del Monaco is the OC. This isn't Dickenson's offense. But he calls the plays on the sidelines.
  8. Mitchell was finally benched. When he was the best qb in the CFL a few years ago, he could get away with being an arrogant prick. Now, he's just another washed up has been who is still an arrogant prick. Because of the kind of player he is with a big mouth, I don't think he'll be missed very much once he does retire. He'd be smart to retire after this season. There are plenty of Stamps fans who don't like him.
  9. I never want to see him back here ever.
  10. They have to make a move & fire LaPo or there'll be less than 10,000 fans at the next home game. Ottawa fans have really supported that team since it's inception. They deserve better than having that goofy LaPo offense along with Caleb Evans trotted out each week. Even with Massoli they weren't winning. LaPo is not a HC. He certainly should have given up the OC position to someone else as he can't do both. Darvin Adams never should have signed with Ottawa. Special teams is no screaming hell for the Lions either. They have a simple game plan. Just outscore everyone. That's how they win. Only one guy on the DL caught my eye last night. Interior DL #62. He is a big man & can he bull rush. He just pushed his OL blocker back right into Fajardo for the sack. Would he ever solidify the interior of our DL.
  11. Fajardo throws off balance a lot. Sure he gets rushed but throwing a pass when his body's momentum is already carrying him to the left affects his accuracy. The ball just sails. Like aiming & shooting a rifle when running sideways. You won't hit anything. Fajardo's playing scared. He's becoming Drew Willy in his last 2 years in Winnipeg. Thirty two sacks is making him, Just. Plain. Scared. #shellshocked
  12. Too much nachos & cheese.
  13. Johnny, your Great Uncle Doug was the first person to teach me the importance of Bomber history & team legacy when I was a young teen Man, the stories he used to tell. Amazing memory & story teller. A proud Bomber fan who saw it all from the beginning.
  14. No one would touch Clarke because of guys like Dave Schultz, Don Saleski, Bob Kelly, Gary Dornhoefer, Andre Dupont & Jack McIlhargey. With those guys Clarke was suddenly 4 inches taller & 30 lbs heavier when he stepped on the ice.
  15. That's obvious. Wah, wah, wah, waaaaaah...
  16. Gretzky was never dirty. He had Semenko looking out for him. Gordie Howe was dirty. Bobby Clarke was dirty.
  17. Does anybody care that you defended Collaros when he was an Argo? No. I think you stepped into a big puddle of poop & are trying to find something to wash your shoe off with as it stinks. Harris gets injured badly. You call it Karma? I call it wrong.
  18. Thanks for that story. A great read about your Dad. Something tells me that you needed to tell that story as a way of still grieving your Father's loss & to get it all out. So, it was therapeutic to do so & good for your soul. My condolences on the loss of your hero. I grew up in a totally different era. The 1960's. An era of no social media, 3 channel television, No NHL. No NFL. No Blue Jays, Expos or Raptors. No nothing. Winnipeg was less than 500,000 people. The only thing we had were the Bombers. For me, they were the Bombers of the Bud Grant era. Big, tough, talented & winners. Six Grey Cup appearances & 4 Championships. All against those sad sack Jim Trimble led Tiger Cats. My Dad was just a casual fan. He liked the Bombers but his life was his family, his successful auto body business, hunting & fishing. We never went to a Bomber game together until I was in my 20's & I had season tickets. It was my neighbour Mr McGibney who used to tell me stories about all the Bomber heroes going back to 1935 at Osborne Stadium. He saw all the lefendary Bomber players perform on the field. Guys like Fritz Hanson, Bob Fritz, Jack Jacobs, Tom Casey, Neil Armstrong, D ic k Huff, the Grant era players all the way into the mid 60's. When he regaled about the team back then, I could see those players come alive in my head & it was fantastic. His love for the Bombers transferred to me & even though guys like Butch Pressley, Paul Desjardins, Phil Minnick, Ken Nielsen, Amos Van Pelt, Mitch Zalnasky. Glenn Schapansky, John Schneider, Glenn Orris, Ron Johnson, John Senst, Lou Andrus, Ed Breding, Chip Barrett, Wally Gabler & others only won a couple of games a year for 5 straight years in the second half of the 1960's, I became a fan. I didn't care if they won two games or 20 as they were my team, The Bombers have always been my team for nearly 60 years. They always will be.
  19. No, a lot of us weren't happy how he left & some of the things he said but that doesn't mean that we wanted him to get injured & suffer. Karma or no karrma.
  20. It's official. Harris is done for the season. He'll be having surgery. https://www.tsn.ca/toronto-argonauts-andrew-harris-done-for-season-1.1837687?fbclid=IwAR3rfa-rqw34QNvLw4LGXzOWKgudpUKJV2RbcHYq5TBUi101cSOH3sVCFNw
  21. This discussion just proves one thing... We've all said something stupid here. All of us. Even 17to85 who is almost damned near perfect.
