  1. Dimes or quarters? The TV deal with TSN is way underfunded. Teams don't get enough money. If the games were on CTV or CBC they'd be double the numbers.
  2. To we fans who were around in those days we sure miss them.
  3. Related to this topic but as an aside. I'll tell you what I miss. Having Don Blanchard from the Free Press & Jack Matheson the Sports Editor of the Winnipeg Tribune covering the Bombers like a blanket. There'd be 3, 4 or 5 stories everyday about the team in each paper. The stories would be different as well in each paper meaning fans could really get the scoop on what was happening with the tean.
  4. Exactly how I feel.
  5. i remember how he insulted the Bombers back in 2013 or 14 mocking how bad we were in a halftime interview on TSN. I have a long memory. Didn't like that one bit. Screw Bo. Now, it drives him crazy that we're better than the Stamps. I have zero respect for anyone who publicly mocks another CFL team in the media. Marcel Desjardins did the same thing at the Ottawa Expansion Draft. Yeah, maybe he didn't want another Bomber player because we were so bad back then, I got it. But he should've kept his damned comments to himself. Like Bo, what was the point of kicking sand in the team's face back then? Maybe I'm being petty but am I ever enjoying shutting these asshats up years later.
  6. Lots of pro athletes hate their fans & media. They just want to be left alone. Sad but that's the way it as pro sports is just a microcosm of today's society. In 1970, when I was 14, I went to a Bomber game. It was a late October game & damned cold. My friend talked me into hanging around the Bomber office waiting for players to come out walking to their cars. One player in particular was a halfback named D i c k Smith. The Bombers picked him up on waivers from the Alouettes a couple of weeks earlier. He had a reputation across the league of being an ass**** to fans & media in Montreal. He was never happy in Montreal & I guess they got tired of his act so he ended up on the worst team in the CFL. I remember he was upset he was picked up by the Bombers who would go 2-14 that season. (Als won the GC that year). Anyway, he came out the door & I was closest to him. I recognized him right away & actually I was afraid to ask him for an autograph. I quickly gathered the courage to ask thinking he'd either swear at me or give me a slap. Maybe both!! He stopped, took my piece of paper & signed it. Then walked away without saying a word. Never forgot that.
  7. Johnny Esaw doing play by play with Frank Rigney (both from CTV) doing analysis with his ol' Telestrator. Don Wittman & Don Chevrier (both CBC) on the sidelines. Tom McKee (CBC) host. Screw the refs.
  8. talk that there may be a head coaching change in Riderville if the slide in the standing continues. Thanks to Jason Maas Craig Dickenson probably has job security. Even the Riders wouldn't replace Dickenson with the Mt St Helens of the coaching world. It would be so hilarious though if they did promote Maas. A team on the edge being coached by a guy who has stepped off that edge many times. What could possibly go wrong?
  9. And Craig Dickenson plays his violin while the team burns to the ground.
  10. Time to retire, Cody. Is things bother you that much.
  11. **** Mitchell. He can be as defiant as he wants. He'll still lose.
  12. Like the Oakland Raiders of the 70's & early 80's.
  13. i wonder if Lawler is bothered by the fact that we don't miss him? I hope he enjoys playing for that Wizard Of Id Head Coach Chris Jones??
  14. He had a great game.
  15. To me, this feels bigger than that. The Bombers won 3 Grey Cups in 7 seasons between 84 & 90. They had great regular season records during that time but they never totally dominated like they are now. This feels historic. They'll be talking about the Bombers in 50 years.
  16. I became a Bomber fan in 1965, two years before Bud Grant left for the Vikings after the 67 season. i got a taste of that era with their last GC appearance. But by then, the team was old & so many star players were retiring. I rememberr the 61 & 62 GC's but at the time I didn't care as I was 6 & 7 years old. So, for me this is special. My Gawd, these are truly The Good Old Days.
  17. John Hufnagel & Dave Dickenson run their team better than Jeremy O'Day & Craig Dickenson. The Riders are just trash. Both the Stamps & Bombers are classy organizations. The 2 best in the CFL.
  18. Biggest win of the season. And they beat a well rested team that had two weeks to prepare. Just awesome.
  19. Why didn't they throw the ball???
  20. Nice return by Grant.
  21. Hallett with the perfect timingQ
  22. This team has so much guile & character it is frigging amazing!!!
  23. i remember a couple of girls in junior high just like the young girl in the commercial. I can't imagine being married to one of them if they never changed.
  24. **** our middle is as soft as apple pie. My Gawd.
