Alley's health has always been kinda questionable with her weight issues the past 25 years. It's sad she passed away but hardly surprising.

Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season
SpeedFlex27 replied to Wideleft's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's about making kicks in the clutch during big games when the pressure is on. Kickers are going to miss but the great ones make the ones that truly count. Castillo five FGs in 2021 GC. Medlock before him in 2019. -
People pass away iHeart. You can't stop it.

Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

And we would be foolish to keep Liegghio over a kicker the caliber of Ward. If we did it would be strictly a money decision & usually cheaping out doesn't work well as you get what you pay for. Personally, I don't see Ward ever coming here as he's from the Ottawa area so that scenario will probably never happen. The decision was made to let Castillo go to free agency. A mistake just like letting Alden Darby going to Hamilton. -
Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

And if a makeable FG from under 45 yards sails wide on the last play of the Western Final & we lose, what do you say then? If Ward wants to come here, it would be total insanity to say Liegghio deserves another chance. What this shows me is just how strong mentally Justin Medlock was when he played here. he could go on a tear & kick 20 straight, miss one & then go on another streak. He was unflappable. That's not easy. -
As you say, we domn't need that many unless dome key vets decide to play elsewhere that they weren't expected to. At least one big inside DT, one OLB & a DB or two. Offense depends upon what Dalton Schoen does. Maybe we bring in Lawler. hopefully we re-sign janarion Grant. If a quality FA kicker becomes available he should be brought in as well. That's about it. Not a lot of FA's.

That is a very interesting premise. Thank you. I have to digest that a bit.

Harris can act like he took the GC away from the Bombers by playing in the championship game all he wants but it was just a one off performance. No way the guy can play even 6 or 7 games in a row without being injured or fading away performance wise. He'll go on the Bomber Wall of Fame someday & deservedly so but he didn't contribute very much to the Argos this season. Walters made the right choice. Bye,

If Macrion is a conservative then Pollievre is a Liberal. Sources have described the Rennaissance Party as centrist, center-right & "Big Tent". Macron has described the Rennaissance Party as being a progressive party of the left & right. Observers & political commentators have described the party as being socially liberal as well as economically liberal in ideology. Sounds like a Brian Mulroney Progressive Conservative "Big Tent" coalition of Conseervativest & left (NDP) along with separatists (mostly in Quebec) during the mid 1980's. That coalition lasted 2 elections & started crumbling almost immediately. Pierre Bouchard stuck a fork in it in 1990.
-
The last thing I want to hear from Walters is we won't be active in free agency. We have some obvious holes particularily on defense that need shoring up. I dentify our core, sign as many as he can & then try to fix the holes.

There's no way Macron or his government is conservative. The French voted for Macron & his Rennaisance Party as a reaction in the runoff election to marine Le Penn, the far alt right Presidential candidate. Even though he won, the runoff election, the French for the most part hate the guy. He was looked upon as the lesser of 2 evils. Half to 3/4 of those governments mentioned have leftist ideas when it comes to finance, government interference in Euro citizens daily lives (not talking vaccine madates, either) & climate change.

I'm disgusted at the way things are now. Completely disenfranchised.

2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)

Why do you say that? -
Blah, blah, Blah. He has to get the Republican nomination first & no guarantee that he will.

In the US, I'd be an Independent. Europe? Most governments are leftist.

The GC loss won't sit well with the Bombers. I don't expect them to stand pat. While I don't think we'll go crazy at free agency time, I do expect the team to address some glaring issues like the interior DL, Maybe sign a free agent OL, receiver & linebacker. The key is to try & keep every key free agent we have. For cryin'out loud, sign Darby this time around. It'll be interesting to watch the exodus of free agents from Saskatchewan. That'll be fun.

I wish Pele well. The best soccer player of his time.

Moderates like me don't like far the right or far left. Other than politics, both aren't alternatives I want to discusss.

Other than a few games that got away from them, Benevides D really hung in there all season. -

I figured Dyce would have kept Benevides. Guess not. -
And how would you describe the marriage between the federal Liberals & NDP? The only way Singh can even sniff at power is propping up the Liberals. As I said before, he's a rube. His party is dying as the Liberals move to the left even more.

I thought Benevides defense played very well last season. It was the offense that was putrid. They couldn't get first downs, maintain drives & score. -

SpeedFlex27 replied to Wideleft's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He's certainly going nowhere. We here who are posters aren't in personnel so we have no idea the contract status of kickers everywhere. I can assure you that there are better kickers than Liegghio out there. We watch them every week. Walters made it known yesterday that Liegs will have to work to keep his kicking position & that maybe doing all 3 jobs isn't the best idea for him or the team. -
I'm no constitutional expert but I don't know why Alberta doesn't just do what Quebec does. Just use the Not Withstanding Clause to opt out of laws we don't like like such as gun control, climate change legislation, etc. I know why Smith wants an AB pension plan, to collect our income taxes & form a provincial police force as well as control immigration. Smith wants a firewall around Alberta. Have things in place in the event that the government actually attempts separation down the road.
