  1. The Argos traded Arbuckle to the Elks last season when they brought in Pipkin. That cut makes no sense. We should give him a shot. He's young so maybe the Bombers luck would change.
  2. I guess they feel that with the way sci fi technology has changed over the years with blockbuster movies & tv, going low tech would hurt ratings. With TOS viewers could see that the Enterprise felt crowded & small with 400 crew memebers. The Bridge was compact but believable. The Enterprise in SNW seems spacious. The Bridge is huge. The decks seem to be able to hold a thousand crew. The producers of the show must have figured out that is what fans want to see, I guess.
  3. Yep. Single back doesn't give teams a lot of options.
  4. In a way, I hope not as I want the best back to play.
  5. Man, a toss play. When's the last time you saw that in a CFL game? Even a simple shovel pass? Run plays could be so much better with a little imagination.
  6. BC starters left in kamloops. Lions rookies play the Stamps vets. I don't like this at all. Fans are paying for a glorified controlled scrimmage.
  7. The upper decks on both sides just look like they stopped because they ran out of money. Caretaker Bob is a billionaire. Did he put any of his money into the thing? With Hamilton Ti Cats history, tradition & establishment in the community TH Field should be 30,000 seats. If Young didn't help finance the construction & it was supposed to be a bigger & nicer stadium then something is wrong. The losers are the fans. I'm grateful & proud of IG Field.
  8. I doubt we'll see 2 back stuff. Every team runs with a single back. I'd love to see lead plays with Oliveira leading Augustine thru the holes. Or counters & misdirection but that was the CFL in the 70's & early 80's. It just isn't done anymore. What you'll see is the backup spelling off the starter. They won't take out a slot to play 2 backs.
  9. Oliveira is more of a power runner. A straight ahead kind of back whereas Augustine can make offenders miss & has that extra gear when he wants to kick it in. Defenses seem to be able to scheme Oliveira a lot easier than Augustine. I'd like to see Johnny get the starting reps to see how he grows into the position & improves.
  10. I don't think he's any different than a lot of American backs that play up here. He is explosive. As long as the OL is opening the holes he'll have success. He kind of reminds me of William Miller. The way Miller used to explode thru the holes back in the day.
  11. Watched every episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Showing Discovery & Picard how to get it done. Very impressed so far. Especially Thursday's episode. Fans were saying, "We want to see the Gorn". You can't as they were unknown until 10 years later when Kirk encountered them.
  12. Whenever I see this stadium, I always think, "When are they going to finish building it?" Looks incomplete. If that was built in Winnipeg, I'd have been so disappointed. That other grandstand just looks like a skeleton. Nothing impressive or pleasing about it. Barebones stuff.
  13. You can tell if a snap is high or low. Or if the holder bobbled it. Or if he had to reach for it. Also, the timing of the kicker's approach is thrown off. Not that hard, really. I've always thought Augustine was the better back. Still do.
  14. I'm just saying it's not wise for Brown to pick a fight with the Bomber President. We've all sees high profile firings in the media. It happens. It also blows over once they're gone.
  15. CJOB pays the Bombers big bucks so Doug better tread lightly. He's no longer a player. He can have his opinions but when he talks to Miller he has to show some restraint.
  16. Could be but what are the chances? Fans would have seen it as well.
  17. I get loyalty to a player who has been a proven performer. However, I don't understand how O'Shea can cut players at other positions for not playing well & yet give a pass on a kicker who has barely shown he belongs. Makes no sense to me. I just hope we aren't scrambling to find a kicker on June 9th.
  18. Snow is snow, yes. But fall snow & football go together. Fans are invested in their teams as the playoff are on. Not during TC. It's just different timing. How are teams supposed to prepare for the season when the weather in the Prairie Provinces is so shittty in April. And rest assured, it always is.
  19. Pre season is to finalize the roster & get the team ready for the regular season. Letting rookies try to distinguish themselves. Losing these games mean nothing. In the late 1960's & early 70's when I was just becoming a longtime fan & knew diddly squat about football, all teams used to play 4 pre season games., You know how many times the Bombers went 3-1, 2-2 or even 4-0 getting fans all riled up & excited about the season ahead only to go 4-12 or 2-14?? Too many times. Fans like me would get sucked in by the pre season success & then wonder why the bottom fell out of the Bombers during a prolonged losng streak during the regular season. Winning pre season games doesn't equate into winning regular season games. Do the coaches want to win? Sure but winning isn't Job #1. Evaluating players is. As well as getting out of these games healthy. I guarantee you Mike O'Shea is sleeping soundly tonight if they did that.
  20. The Bombers bad luck signing veteran CFL free agent receivers continues with Saunders being released & now charged by police. If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.
