  1. I'm seeing a coming together of all leagues in North America (USFL, XFL & CFL) into one developmental league for the NFL. Perhaps like the AHL, one developmental team for every NFL team. For example, the BC Lions for the Seahawks, the Eskimos for the Rams, the Stamps for the 49ers, the Bombers for the Vikings. A massive infusion of money from gambling, tv & the NFL. The first step on making it 4 down football only & taking it global.
  2. What a ridiculously dumb signing. Yeah, I hope he cost Jones some bonus money for that stupid move.
  3. I stay away from double patties. I like Teen Burger, Mozza Burger, Big Mac & Whopper. My youngest son Tyler was born in Calgary. He never had a burger from Junior's. Well back in the 70's I went to the University of Winnipeg. I used to walk across the street to Junior's the odd time to grab a burger & fries. When we were in town for Xmas in 1999, I decided to take him there & he had a loaded burger & fries. He was 9 & his reaction was just like what you see in that dumb peanut butter ad. He was incredulous. So funny to watch. Now, he's so into fitness & health that he stays away from all the burger joints in Seattle. The only burger he'll eat is one he makes himself on his BBQ.
  4. Teen Burger for me. Always liked A & W. Stay away from that plant thing they're selling.
  5. I know you're not happy with some aspects of the game today. Teams also need sponsorships to help defray costs of travel, food & accomodations as well.
  6. Which really sucks. It used to be all about the pride of wearing the Buffalo on the back of the sweater. That was a hu8ge deal. I don't know if I'm in the majority or minority here but I don't like the way the Brier is done. More teams, less games. Same teams always make it to the finals. Skips who live in one province skipping teams from another. It used to be that it was all about repping your club in the MCA Bonspiel or any bonspel for that matter as well as zone playdowns & provincials. Then repping your province at the Brier & Canada at the World's. I remember in junior whenever we beat a team from the Granite. That was always special. We felt a lot of pride for Fort Rouge. That was our "Mother Club". I didn't play competitive Men's after junior so I can't say I knew what it was like to win at that level but still carry that pride for Fort Rouge right to this day. Even though I haven't set foot in that place since I moved to Calgary in 1990.
  7. I agree but Ambrosie coming here proclaiming it. is just grandstanding. He should have better things to do. A new stadium may never get built here.
  8. Spencer Davis 1966... Oops sorry, this Spencer Davis 2015...
  9. We're up against the old salary cap. We have no idea what the new cap will be because Ambrosie instead of negotiating a new CBA so teams can move forward is on his tour of CFL cities talking BS like today in Calgary saying we need a new stadium & he supports it using Canadian Tire money. Ambrosie says Calgary needs a new stadium.
  10. I curled for a lot of years but in the last 20, I haven't followed the game the way I used to so I don't know much about Mike McEwen. I would defer to Noeller who is the curling expert here. I've heard McEwen takes risks at times & it has cost him games. A high risk high reward kind of thing. His teammates should be the ones to reign him in if he won't go for the highest percentage shot.
  11. When Mourtada lined up for a FG were you confident that he'd put it through or were you nervously on the edge of your seat going, "C'mon... C'mon..."?? If anyone said No then they're lying.
  12. Thanks for telling us McEwen isn't sent, LIke we didn't know that already. He has to win to get out of Manitoba. He may be good enough to get out of the province but he's not good enough to win on a national stage. He has shown that again & again. He just isn't good enough.
  13. I saw Scott Hall iwrestle at the old Winnipeg Arena in early 1985 during his pre Razor Ramon days. He was this huge dude who looked like a body builder pushing 290 lbs. He wrestled Curt Hennig & defeated him. Most of the crowd had no idea who Hall was. He was all roided up. He really trimmed down when he wrestled as Razor Ramon. I knew about the shooting death in Florida. The guy was reaching for his gun so what was he supposed to do? he was never charged as I think it was viewed as self defense but it took a toll on his life afterward. 14. What happened? That's sad. He had issues with drugs & alcohol especially in the waning years of his active career in WCW. I saw a video of him in the early 2000's showing up at an Indy event & he was so drunk he couldn't stand up, let alone wrestle. Diamond Dallas Page took him in & cleaned him up over a decade ago.
  15. This **** is why the CFL is Mickey Mouse. And why players don't want to sign for more than a year. Total crap.
  16. Yeah, we sealed Mourtada's fate last season, alright. We here right on this board. We did that because we had the power. More like, he did. What options? You seem to be in the know.
  17. Never said we sucked. I said we shouldn't be having these kicking issues a year after Medlock retired. This just proves how stats can be twisted in any way to support whatever points someone wants to make. Like, are you being serious? How many FG's did Castillo have in the Grey Cup?
  18. Koe vs Gushue for the Brier Final? Hard pass. (clap, clap, clap). We keep sending McEwen every year & they usucally have a hard time winning half their games. Nothing changes as you know he'll never win a Brier. Just another Gary Ross or Claire DeBlonde.
  19. We are screwed without at the very least competent kicker. Good offenses score 400 points or more on offense & a kicker scores 140 of those yet it looks like the Bombers think anyone can do it. If Castillo wanted to play in the CFL it should have been here. Who were our kickers when we won? Medlock & then Castillo. right? Two of the best. Or was it Legghio & Mourtada? Two of the worst.
  20. This should have been solved once & for all. We had an entire season to figure it out. Back at square one. Why would the guy go to Edmonton?
  21. So, all the North American car companies ditched automobiles last year in favour of heavy pickups & SUV's. Oil was about $50 a barrel at the time. Now it's approaching 3 times that. No one is going to buy the big vehicles with gas prices like that. Has GM, Ford & Chrysler screwed themselves over & will they do a hard 180 to discontinue these vehicles as sales for large vehicles tank & get back into smaller automobiles & light trucks. They did it as a result of Trump getting rid of fuel mileage standards in the US. I thought the decision they all made at the time was shortsighted & now they all have to rethink their strategies & bring back cars to the buying public with better gas mileage than at present.
  22. I used to drive Thompson to Lynne Lake. I told my story about hitting the ditch driving back to Thompson in minuis 45 temps. No way an EV could last in that.
  23. I know ROH. I never watch it, though.
  24. This... I don't get. Can anyone explain it? Has field goal kicking dropped that much on our To Do List of important positions? And please don't tell me Ali Mourtada is ready to step up.
