  1. Not only the middle class but seniors (like me) who are on fixed incomes as well as people who are disabled & on permanent govt benefits. As well workers on lower incomes, single parents, people on welfare, etc. It's okay to talk about the environment & trumpet all these new advances but we have no way of paying for any of it except thru taxation & subsidies. Let the private sector lead the way if it's so great. Let the billionaires & their green companies pay all the up front costs for infrastructure. Stay away from public taxation & subsidies. Watch them all run for the hills.
  2. Not picking on anyone in particular but I thought I'd just throw this out there...
  3. Here's the thing for me. If something has to be taxed & subsidized for it to even have a chance to work then it isn't viable. Governments can try to make it viable by making us pay for it through taxation. If Tesla wants us to drive electric vehicles, then let billionaire Elon Musk & the other electric car companies manufacturing these vehicles pay for the infrastrructure on roads, themselves. If EV's are so good then why are ordinary citizens in Norway & eventually here in Canada punished & forced to pay penalties to drive gasoline powered vehicles? They should be able to stand on their own merits along with paying for the infrastructure themselves to go with it. Not by governments raising taxes & giving out subsidies to companies in an attempt to make them viable. I'm not debating the merits of gasoline vs electric vehicles. I'm talking about public policy & the merits of using public funds to prop up an industry (or technology) by government.
  4. I think I'm being realistic, if not lowballing. Windows, insulation & heating. Tear out & replace. Windows alone would be $20,000 itself.
  5. Yes, you're right. Can't have enough great receivers.
  6. Let's agree to meet in 50 years over some soft food & apple juice to discuss.
  7. So, should we break out the horse & buggies now or will environmentalists complain horses fart & poop too much? Just askin'... As far as incentivizing people to retrofit their homes, if it costs $30-$40,000 to do so, you really think governments will pay for that through some kind of energy grants? I'd doubt it. They'll pay a portion like 15%, then tell us how fortunate we, as Canadians are to have a program like that. Then throw the majority of the cost back onto homeowners & taxpayers. Or will politicians like Trudeau, Guilbault & Singh just think people will happily go into mega debt to pay for it all? Eventually people saddled with high taxes & debt will say ENOUGH!! It's already happening. The social unrest we're experiencing is just beginning, unfortunately. Trudeau, Guibault & Singh can yap all they want about the environment but the majority of Canadians don't want to be penalized or be forced to pay for this. These taxes & high costs the Liberals are throwing at us will just make people angry as they struggle to make ends meet & their standard of living falls. Sorry, I'm not a social conservative but I'm a fiscal one. I don't like high taxes. I'll always be that way. My problem is I don't have a political party to vote for.
  8. O&G won't be outdated in a decade. It'll still be in use after we're all gone.
  9. Huff usually brings in a bunch of receivers. I don't know how proactive we are when it comes to that. I think he does it more than anyone else. I think Hufnagel does it more than anyone.
  10. I wish we'd do what the Stamps do under John Hufnagel & have been since he became GM over there... Keep signing receivers. Keep signing receivers. Keep signing receivers. That's been the mantra. Even when the Stamps had an all star at every receiver position & didn't need any more, they still kept bringing pass catchers in for a look/see during training camp or the season. That's the only way to do it. Push the guys you have with younger & hungrier players wanting to take their place.
  11. That's why I do this!! You're welcome!!
  12. Again, I get what you're point is but Russia is one of the biggest oil producers in the world & I believe has the second largest oil reserves in the world. They want access to the Crimea unfettered. They also believe the Ukraine is historically their territory. Ukraine is ranked 61st in the world for oil production at nearly 56,000 barrels a day. Hardly a war over oil.
  13. He doesn't have the lobes. I wouldn't call this a war for oil but a war for control of the Crimea which is a strategic waterway. Putin wanted it so he'll get it.
  14. Hansen's good enough to make the team under any designation. He should just renounce his global status. Only in the CFL do they cap players salaries because they're global players no matter how good they become. Why even develop these players? They're just second class players in a league where monetary wise all should be treated the same. Stupid initiative that needs to be discontinued as it's discriminatory. Doesn't surprise me that the guy with his head up his ass as Commissioner is behind this. He just looks more stupid the longer he's Commissioner.
  15. **** Ambrosie. What's the point, Randy? You snake. I wish this guy would leave & permanently get lost. Just an assclown.
  16. We have the same problem in Calgary. Loud demonstrations every weekend off the downtown in the Beltline (as it's called). An area where there are mostly apartments & condos & it;s being taken over by anti vax & mandate protestors honking their horns. It's to the point that police inaction is causing residents to come out & counter protest saying they want their neighbourhood back. So, we have residents on one side blocking protestors from demonstrating in their neighbourhood & protestors wanting to break through these counter protestors. One anti vaxxer attacked a resident & was arrested. The cops do nothing. They don't do their jobs. They stand around & watch afraid to lift a finger. There's going to be violence. People will get hurt & the Police Chief of Calgary will navel gaze & say his force was there to maintain the peace or whatever other excuse he'll use. I refuse to believe that politicians don't have their meddling fingers into all of this telling the cops to back off even though they vow they can't tell them what to do. I mean to me, it's obvious. This comes down right from Jason Kenney's office. I'm sure in Winnipeg, the same thing also comes down from Stephanson. Both Premiers telling the police in their provinces to leave these dumbass anti vax protestors alone because that's their base.
  17. Inoke Brecterfield #97.
  18. One thing I should have said. The reason Bates was HC was because the AD at the time insisted on hiring a Canadian head coach even if he was underqualified. Which Bates was. I'm sure they interviewed local Vancouver high school coaches but not experienced college coaches. Former Western Washington University HC & BC Lions assistant Robin Ross who lived in the Lower Mainland was never considered because he was American. Joe Paopao, also an American was disqualified from being the HC at SFU. They could be assistants but not the man in charge. No wonder that program nearly imploded.
  19. Chevy should be sent packing but he has a job for life.
  20. Lucky Whitehead says hi.
  21. BC is talking about another logo & uniform change. They change more often than a guy's underwear with diarrhea who is always late to the bathroom. They also better not mess with our logo & uniforms. I think most Elks fans don't ever want to see the antlers again.
