  1. Now that would be a great discussion.
  2. I watched the game from midway thru the second quarter to the end of the game listening to Bob Irving instead of the natterings of Glen Suitor who I could tell was cheering for the Riders. It was a nice break for a change. Irving is amazing as a pbp broadcaster.
  3. No, with the pandemic they kept it at the stadium capacity.
  4. I watched the game from Calgary & turned off the volume on the television. I listened to Bob Irving & Doug Brown on CJOB on my laptop.
  5. I'll never forget that loss but DAMN, today's win feels real, real good!!!
  6. Always. It took us years to build that OL that we have. That Lawler catch was freaking amazing!!
  7. Fajardo bitched about everything. Leaders lead by example. They don't push teammates over a cliff.
  8. You need great qbs to win, bottom line. You can have all the pieces in place but if you have a shitty qb you lose.
  9. Steve, you lost. All I know is tomorrow you'll wake up. You'll still be in Regina & we won't. It'll be cold. To make it even colder, you'll remember your team's season is over, Ours isn't. You'll be sad & no one here will care.
  10. Okay, as we beat the Riders today in the first Western Final played here in 49 years having lost the Final in 1972 to the same stubble jumper team from Regina, we can now proclaim that the ghosts of that game have been officially exorcised.
  11. Twenty years from now people will just remember we won.
  12. I don't think bad weather helps the Riders. They'd rather throw the ball then run. Powell is a good but not great back. We have a 3 headed monster at running back & a dominant OL so I think we may have the advantage.
  13. No, it was the only place where there was heat & I was frozen. Should have said thaw out.
  14. The 1970 Western Final was colder. Check it out on You Tube.
  15. That was in 1993. I was at that game. All week long, temps in Calgary were plus 5 to 10. Then a cold front swept thru with snow & lots of wind late Saturday night thru Sunday. The temp dropped to the minus 20's by game time & windchill minus 35. I spent halftime & a bit of the 3rd quarter with a hundred other frozen guys crammed in the washroom at McMahon Stadium where there was heat trying to unthaw. It was brutal watching or playing that game as the wind was horrendous. The heater on the Stamps sideline malfunctioned. They had no heat. However, they kept the heater on at the Eskimo sideline & their players had a huge advantage, I think the rules have now changed meaning if the heater on one sideline doesn't work the other team has to turn theirs off. The next week it was plus 10 for the Grey Cup in Calgary. I hope conditions at IG Field aren't like they were in Calgary for the WDF tomorrow.
  16. I think guns would be more accurate.
  17. Is Vince Lombardi a legend without Bart Starr? Does Bill Belichek win 6 Super Bowls without Tom Brady? Is Bill Walsh the legend he is without Joe Montana? Does Bud Grant win 4 Grey Cups without Kenny Ploen? Is Frank Clair a 3 time Grey Cup winner in Ottawa without Russ Jackson? Is Hugh Campbell a 5 time Grey Cup winner without Wilkinson & then Moon? Great coaches need great qbs. It's not Buck's fault LaPo took the HC job with the RedBlacks. Buck was dealt a great hand having Zach Collaros as his guy & he took advantage of it. Just like all the great coaches mentioned. That's my take, anyway. Just sayin'. Not trying to lecture.
  18. Buy him a scarf.
  19. Whoever Argo employee told Bethel-Thompson he had to go to the Raptors game should be fired. Absolutely. It would be great if the Argos can build on this. If they win then fantastic. If they lose at least be competitive & don't stink the joint out. A lot of distractions going on right now. Dinwiddie & his coaches have to get the team refocused & ready to play.
  20. To me, Buck has already shown he's a better coach & OC than LaPo. Look how the offense has been transformed with guys like Bailey & Lawler flourishing. We won with a committe of Canadian running backs this season. We weren't cute & fancy. We didn't rely on our receivers getting YAC yards to get first downs & we stretched opposition defenses throwing deep much more. The offense seemed in better sync with virtually the same players that LaPo had.
  21. Ryan Dinwiddie never was a Coordinator with the Stamps so you never know. The only way I see Buck Pierce becoming a head coach in Ottawa is if they promote LaPo to GM & he hires Buck. Pierce would be wise to stay away from Edmonton as that entire organization has major, major dysfunctional problems.
  22. Chris Jones. he'll take the money & be like Ted Lasso. "Okay boys,. Skates done up tight??? Ladder drills. Let's go!!!"
  23. What the hell does farming have to do with the Western Final? I have family that are farmers in the Steinbach & Ashern/Moosehorn areas. I've never thought about if Sask has more farms than Manitoba. Like who cares?
  24. For our province that is way, way too long.
  25. When was the last time we won a Brier? It seems it's been forever. All these residency rule changes for the Oly trials to me is ruining the sport. Provincial rivalries should mean something but it doesn't to Curl Canada. It fuels fans interest. If a player lives in Manitoba why should he be allowed to curl for Saskatchewan? I know it's Oly Trials related but **** that. I used to play & watch curling religiously. Not anymore. I just don't care when Manitoba's best player represents the stubble jumpers.
