  1. Just horrible Argo tackling.
  2. Same question every week: WTF does TSN keep pumping country????
  3. Sure we do. But any qb is one hit away from an injury. He was making close to $900,000. He took a substantial cut but it's still much too much.
  4. Trouble is, Mitchell makes $700,000 & the Stamps had to shed salary to get under the Cap. Trade him to Ottawa. They'll take him & his salary. Maier should be playing.
  5. Trying to draw a penalty. It worked.
  6. Riders elite at not pissing into a cup.
  7. ******* Suitor. Just shut the **** up. Blah, blah, blah,
  8. Black has to bring up the fight from last week.
  9. Is this the Riders 4th home game??
  10. Getting rid of Kenney would be a start. We're only a few days from hospitals being completely overrun & doctors start triaging. This guy lives. This woman dies. Kenney should be in jail & charged with murder. His Day is coming.
  11. We had over 2.000 cases in AB today. Sask is ina similar situation. You won't catch me in a CFL stadium this season. People are afraid to go.
  12. A Rider fan on social media & you haven't heard of Rider Fans??? Au contraire.
  13. And they pay this guy???
  14. Mitchell Blair @mblairYQR This is not throwing shade at the Bombers, but they have not been impacted at starting QB (surprisingly) while the other Western teams have been. If Collaros goes down, Winnipeg is not as good Well Duh??? Thank you Captain Obvious. Newsflash: The Kansas City Chiefs aren't as good without Patrick Mahomes, either.
  15. He always seemed to make at least one big play in almost every game he played. And to put up his numbers with a lot of scrub qbs on some bad, bad football teams is incredible.
  16. When I was 30 those funny things that fly... with wings... were called aeroplanes. And they were cranked by hand & the guy yelled "CONTACT!!"
  17. 2,414,145 yards in a single game? Didn't even work up a sweat.
  18. Another picture of Cec. Luining. He played multiple positions on both sides of the line. He was an undersized lineman at 210 lbs.
  19. The 1961 Grey Cup. The Bombers beat the Ti Cats 21-14 when QB Ken Ploen scored in OT to win the game 21-14. Here we see Hamilton Ti Cat QB Frank Cosentino #11 fumble the ball while trying to handoff to Fullback Gerry McDougall #25 while Blue Bomber Defemsive End Cec Luining charges hard off the edge. Hamilton receiver Hal Patterson #77 is watching the action from a distance. Cec Luining was my cousin on my Mother's side of the family. He was 25 years older than me so I never knew him that well. He played 10 seasons for the Bombers from 1954 -63. He played in 5 Grey Cups winning 4. Cec attended Daniel Mac playing for the Maroons & his Junior football with the Winnipeg Rods before signing with the Bombers. Jack Wells nicknamed him "The Mad Milkman From Selkirk". He lived in Selkirk & was a Milk Man delivering to stores & private homes. He passsed away in 2009. I'm obviously proud that as a family member he played for the Bombers during their most dominant era & that he won so many championships. I just wish I'd have known him better.
  20. That used to be standard fare from head coaches when asked about their opponents. Better to build them up than say something that'll result in press clippings being taped up in the opponent's locker room. Very few head coaches back in the day said anything to rile up the other players. I remember coaches like Bud Grant, Joe Zaleski, Jim Spavial, Bud Riley & Ray Jauch always extolling the virtues of the other team. If you took what they said seriously then you'd say we have no chance. Building up a team is just Old School Football. Things started to change 20 or 30 years ago when coaches & GM's like Don Matthews, Roy Shivers & Leo "The Lip" Cahill came along. They loved a microphone as they always had something to say.
  21. In 1978, the Bombers went to Calgary to play the Stamps in the Western Semi Final. They had a receiver named Willie Armstead who was nearly 6'5. We had a DB named Gary Rosolowich who was 5'8. Local Winnipeg lad who went to St John's HS & starred with the Bisons playing receiver & DB. Armstead feasted on Rosolowich all game long. He wasn't able to cover him. It was so frustrating to watch Armstead leap high for a pass with Rosolowich barely as high as Armstead's waist when he jumped.. We lost 38-4. What a long day...
  22. My wife & kids went to that game. My oldest was 16 & youngest 12. We were in Winnipeg from Calgary to visit family & friends. My oldest son & I cheered for the Bombers while my wife & youngest son cheered for the Stamps. Sadly, that night a tornado hit a campground in Alberta just south of Red Deer at Pine Lake completly destroying it. The campground on one side of the lake was obliterated. The other side was untouched. There was multiple loss of lives. It was very sad as the dead were from all over Alberta.
  23. In the nearly 20 years I had Bomber season tickets that was the only game I missed. I was in a wedding party & the rehearsal was that night. Listening to the thunder & pounding rain on the roof of the church which was deafening, then seeing the lake on the West sidelines & the river of water pouring out of the East upper deck like a waterfall on the local tv sports made me glad I wasn't there. Still, I'm sure the hardy fans at the game enjoyed themselves.
