And I'll keep harping as long as the Randy apologists keep sticking up for him. . Ambrosie's terrible. Has he denied beyond the shadow of a doubt that we won't switch to 4 down football? Says nothing. He could put all these rumours to rest & yet he doesn't. So, these stories keep popping up. This could mean the destruction of our beloved CFL. That assclown deserves all the scorn he gets. Mark Cohon... It's almost like it was the Golden Age compared to now.

Well, that could be but he has spent many years in jail. He was a highjly touted qb from Ohio State. He destroyed his career because of gambling. He lost his football career in the NFL & CFL, all his money, his savings, family & turned to a life of crime. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2021/09/01/former-colts-quarterback-art-schlichter-has-been-released-prison/5686961001/

Have you guys ever heard of Art Schlichter?

Van Pelt didn't have a choice. He was drafted into the US Air Force in 1960. The Bombers wanted him to resume his playing career in 1963 once he was discharged. He was the team;'s guest during the 1962 Grey Cup weekend. However, he decided to stay retired & went tnto private business in Chicago.

Anyone follow Max Bernier on twitter? His posts are becoming more unhinged. The Ukraine should be left to the Russians. The War isn't real. Everything is a conspiracy. Every politician in Canada but him is a member of the World Economic Forum & Klaus Schwab is Enemy Number 1. The man is dangerous & I see more & more people seemingly agreeing with his hatred & rhetoric everyday on Twitter. The man to me, is a threat to our security as a nation. He's also a nutbar. A dangerous nutbar. His wwords are working up his base into a frenzy as far as I can see. To think this guy was Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister & then wanted to be leader of the CPC is chilling. He's becoming more & more radicalized.

Yeah, I smoked on the ice back in the 70's. We all did. There was an ashtray in the middle of the ice on both sides halfway down the sheet & in both houses. http://www.cbc.ca/polopoly_fs/1.4543972!/fileImage/httpImage/image.gif

I'm seeing a coming together of all leagues in North America (USFL, XFL & CFL) into one developmental league for the NFL. Perhaps like the AHL, one developmental team for every NFL team. For example, the BC Lions for the Seahawks, the Eskimos for the Rams, the Stamps for the 49ers, the Bombers for the Vikings. A massive infusion of money from gambling, tv & the NFL. The first step on making it 4 down football only & taking it global.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

I stay away from double patties. I like Teen Burger, Mozza Burger, Big Mac & Whopper. My youngest son Tyler was born in Calgary. He never had a burger from Junior's. Well back in the 70's I went to the University of Winnipeg. I used to walk across the street to Junior's the odd time to grab a burger & fries. When we were in town for Xmas in 1999, I decided to take him there & he had a loaded burger & fries. He was 9 & his reaction was just like what you see in that dumb peanut butter ad. He was incredulous. So funny to watch. Now, he's so into fitness & health that he stays away from all the burger joints in Seattle. The only burger he'll eat is one he makes himself on his BBQ. -

Teen Burger for me. Always liked A & W. Stay away from that plant thing they're selling. -
I know you're not happy with some aspects of the game today. Teams also need sponsorships to help defray costs of travel, food & accomodations as well.

Which really sucks. It used to be all about the pride of wearing the Buffalo on the back of the sweater. That was a hu8ge deal. I don't know if I'm in the majority or minority here but I don't like the way the Brier is done. More teams, less games. Same teams always make it to the finals. Skips who live in one province skipping teams from another. It used to be that it was all about repping your club in the MCA Bonspiel or any bonspel for that matter as well as zone playdowns & provincials. Then repping your province at the Brier & Canada at the World's. I remember in junior whenever we beat a team from the Granite. That was always special. We felt a lot of pride for Fort Rouge. That was our "Mother Club". I didn't play competitive Men's after junior so I can't say I knew what it was like to win at that level but still carry that pride for Fort Rouge right to this day. Even though I haven't set foot in that place since I moved to Calgary in 1990.

I agree but Ambrosie coming here proclaiming it. is just grandstanding. He should have better things to do. A new stadium may never get built here. -
Spencer Davis 1966... Oops sorry, this Spencer Davis 2015...

We're up against the old salary cap. We have no idea what the new cap will be because Ambrosie instead of negotiating a new CBA so teams can move forward is on his tour of CFL cities talking BS like today in Calgary saying we need a new stadium & he supports it using Canadian Tire money. Ambrosie says Calgary needs a new stadium. -
I curled for a lot of years but in the last 20, I haven't followed the game the way I used to so I don't know much about Mike McEwen. I would defer to Noeller who is the curling expert here. I've heard McEwen takes risks at times & it has cost him games. A high risk high reward kind of thing. His teammates should be the ones to reign him in if he won't go for the highest percentage shot.
-
Thanks for telling us McEwen isn't sent, LIke we didn't know that already. He has to win to get out of Manitoba. He may be good enough to get out of the province but he's not good enough to win on a national stage. He has shown that again & again. He just isn't good enough.

I saw Scott Hall iwrestle at the old Winnipeg Arena in early 1985 during his pre Razor Ramon days. He was this huge dude who looked like a body builder pushing 290 lbs. He wrestled Curt Hennig & defeated him. Most of the crowd had no idea who Hall was. He was all roided up. He really trimmed down when he wrestled as Razor Ramon. I knew about the shooting death in Florida. The guy was reaching for his gun so what was he supposed to do? he was never charged as I think it was viewed as self defense but it took a toll on his life afterward. What happened? That's sad. He had issues with drugs & alcohol especially in the waning years of his active career in WCW. I saw a video of him in the early 2000's showing up at an Indy event & he was so drunk he couldn't stand up, let alone wrestle. Diamond Dallas Page took him in & cleaned him up over a decade ago.
