  1. Fajardo & VA are the 2 best qbs in the CFL. I know some of you just can't get your heads around that. Yeah, I agree that Streveler is a very good change it up type of qb but isn't a starter. Could be the best #2 qb in the league.
  2. That's not how O'Shea rolls. He'll play his vets with no practice time. Streveler could get all the starting reps all week in practice only to sit the entire game.
  3. Showing my "experience" but not my age (ha ha). In 1971, the Argos finished first in the East with a record of 10-4. Lost the GC to the Calgary Stampeders on a Leon McQuay fumble in the rain during the last couple of minutes at Empire Stadium in Vancouver. The next season, they finished dead last in their conference with a record of 3-11. Injuries & age were the downfall of the Argos after a 4 season run in the East. They had some big ones. LIke Joe Theismann out for an extended period with a broken ankle. Canadian receiver Mike Eben got hurt. I believe Leon McQuay missed significant time with an injury. QB Greg Barton walking out on the team after a dispute with Cahill. Not a lot of info about the Argo's 1972 season but it was a difficult one wwith paralells to what we're going thru now. The team also aged out. HC Leo Cahill also was loyal to his veterans to a fault & the core of the team had been together since 1967. Combine injuries & age this is what you get as a result.... The Argos of 1972 & the Bombers of 2024. The one difference is that Leo was fired at the end of the 1972 season. I don't think if we finish in last place & out of the playoffs that Osh will be fired here. Amazing that while the eras may change as well as the game itself there are other things that don't. Like a coach's blind loyalty to his players. Thinking he can squeeze out one more good year from his older players when he no longer can. Whether it's 1972 or 2024. Yeah, I was unaware of changes in long term contracts. Sorry about that.
  4. Not surprised Tui Eli injured his hip reaching down for a water bottle on the sidelines on Saturday night. And so it goes in Bomberland. Yikes...
  5. Are you sure? CFL contracts have never been guaranteed. If we cut Zach lose then we don't owe him anything. There is a date where if a vet is kept then his contract is guaranteed for that season only. Or at least, it used to be that way.
  6. This a double headed monster. Both MOS & Walters can both take credit for the situation of the team & where it's sitting in the standings. The fans have supported the Bombers giving them nearly an $8 million surplus since 2021. The fans & city deserve better, I expected this team to step back a bit. Maybe finish second or third with a record of 9-9 or 10-8, then reload for the Grey Cup run in 2025. Instead they've fallen off a cliff. the way it's going 4-14 or 5-13 may be where we end up. Then any ideas of winning a Grey Cup at home next year will be dashed.
  7. Thanks to the salary cap being too low, teams can no longer develop young qbs to be eventual starters. Shitty teams like Ottawa can't do it themselves so they pay these young guys too much money & they leave their old team just to be eaten up or annihalated by desperate teams praying to find a saviour at qb. Most of them who have promise leave a year or so too early just to get scooped up & spit out.
  8. You're assuming Rourke is coming back next season. I don't think he is.
  9. Walters can see what is going on. He certainly isn't blind which is why he & Osh are in this together. The hope was to keep this team together for the 2025 Grey Cup which now looks impossible. If a full on rebuild is required, just get it done Miller, Walters & Osh. Quit worrying about trying to win a championship in 2025 with these guys we have now & making decisions that set us back 5 years or more.
  10. To me, that's on Walters as GM. He is the guy who brings in talent & working with Osh decides who they'll sign, trade & recruit. We're all assuming that it's Osh who is the weak link here. I'm beginning to believe that both Walters & Osh are the problem. For example, both of them agreed not to bring back Dru Brown. They have to work together to build a championship team. The decision to keep the team together in it's structure & not bring in new pieces every season is a joint decision.
  11. Looks like decent crowd. I'll say this for RedBlacks fans. Horrible teams, horrible coaching & horrible management yet the fans still show up.
  12. Well, you keep doing you & no one will care. I'm beginning to think that Walters is agreeing to O'Shea's personnel choices.
  13. I hope Fajardo wins a couple more Grey Cups just to keep pissing you off.
  14. The biggest turd is Kolonkowski. He was blocking Coatney their 350 lb NG. Then for some inexplicable reason, he abandons his block & goes to help Bryant double team the DE leaving a clear path for Coatney to hurt Collaros. Like WTF is this guy doing playing???? Obviouly, he thought that Neufeld was going to slide over & pick up Coatney. He never waited to make sure this happened. He just said Bye & now our starting qb is injured. MOS loves him so he plays but he is the worst OL in the CFL. Meanwhile a promising young Center languishes on the bench in favour of this assclown. Our qbs are in mortal danger as long as this guy keeps playing. Tui Eli needs to start. It's not even a question anymore. It's a fact. Our season could hang in the balance with this turkey being allowed to start.
  15. Just an aside for a moment. Why is Paul laPolice talents being wasted interviewing someone from women's soccer on the sidelines? Why isn't he either in the studio or the booth so he can give viewers the benefit of his football knowledge? TSN has Britt Dort & John Lu for western games. They want to be part of the CFL broadcasts then use them. There doesn't seem to be a lot of vision or direction from the TSN producers this season. The panel is different every game. LaPo on the sidelines. Different panelists come & go. Not impressed with TSN one bit this season.
  16. Lucky would be a short term fix. Like a band aid plus he's expensive.. It would wreak havoc with our salary cap. No thanks.
  17. With the geo politics of today with two major conflicts going on, we shouldn't have the Olympics anymore. If they were discontinued, I'd be very happy.
  18. Our best guys are not playing. We keep losing. What do we get? The big smirk. I haven't hit the panic button yet but seeing our offense in such disarray is very annoying. Seeing the improvement of Terrell Ford is very exciting. We may have a dominant corner in the making.
  19. Our defense looked better today than it has all season but really benefitted from Jake Maier's overthrows of open receivers. A couple of those Stamps receivers were wide open. Really comservative play calling from Buck when throwng the ball. Brady made a difference but it's becoming obvious that he can't carry the offense all by himself. We have no vertical threat with Schoen, Lawler & Keric Wheatfeld out. We need to have an airlift of receivers coming in. Kolonkowski was manhandled by that 350 lb monster NG all night. Kolo couldn't handle him so naturally he played & Tui Eli stood on the sidelines. If you play Streveler in a gimmick offense all season then Buck shouldn't be surprised he has trouble throwing the ball. Still, we nearly won.
  20. No surprise there.
  21. Of course, you'll never give any credit to Cody Fajardo for anything. No matter how well he's playing. Fajardo's become an elite qb in the CFL whether you choose to be an Osterich & stick your head in the ground in denial. The Als have quietly become a power in the CFL the last 14 games & I can see them repeating as GC Champs if things keep going this way for them. Their defense is outstanding.
  22. Football injuries are normal. But a run like this?? When the Riders suffered 9 torn achilles injuries four years ago in a pre season workout was that normal?
  23. I never saw the game so no idea how he got hurt. Still. so many injuries it has to fall on the Head Coach at some point unless they're all non contact injuries. I did see Haba go down & it looked like no one touched him. So, who knows??? This isn't normal.
