  1. Looks to me like it was an idea that didn't work for Clint. We've all done dumb things in our lives. Except this was on an international stage, He tried a bit of comedy that fell absolutely flat. I won't eviscerate him for that.
  2. Great actors can have conversations with chairs. Now, try it with an empty one.
  3. That Laz YBoy is his horse. His gun is a .44 Magnum. "I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or 5? Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I kinda lost track myself. But this being a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question. 'Do I feel lucky??' Well, do ya punk?" Ha, ha. I always loved Clint Eastwood. At 45 or 90.
  4. How can they afford this & why Winnipeg the #1 hotspot in North America with ICU's full? Better hope there's no outbreaks & these players don't crash the health care system...
  5. Which means he won't play.
  6. What's the beef? Apps are so futuristic. Almost Buck Roger-ish. TSN is slowly getting into the arly 20th century by adding cameras to their broadcasts instead of smoke signals. The CFL on TSN. Brought to you by Conestaga Wagons. Visit your local Conestaga Wagon dealer & go out for a test ride. "Conestaga Wagons... When you just gotta get there!!"
  7. Except in you know where with you know what. "Best summar evarrrrrrrrrr!!"
  8. Besides the politics, Alberta is a nice place to live. Whenever I drive west of Calgary along the eastern slopes of the Rockies, I half expect Clint Eastwood, John Wayne or the Cartwrights to ride out of the distance.
  9. My son considered trying out in the TSL. Until he found out he'd have to pay. He knew his chances to get to the NFL were slim at best & none left town so he never tried.
  10. The Spring League isn't paying their coaches.
  11. My condolences on that. Very, very unfortunate.
  12. My youngest would have been devastated. He really liked basketball but he absolutely LOVED FOOTBALL WITH A PASSION. Having that taken away would have been so sad. I think vax passports are a great idea. Let the anti vaxxers stay at home & rot for all I care. They deserve it.
  13. I'm so glad my 2 sons are adults & are married. My youngest would have not done well remote learning. He struggled at times in junior high with paying attention & he went to school everyday. Being on his own to learn away from his friends would have been hard. Plus he loved sports. When he was 14 he played bantam football & basketball. Not having those 2 outlets would have been frustrating for him. maybe even a life changer as football took him to the US to play, coach & eventually live. My eldest would have adapted. He was a smart kid & now a smart adult but he would have been very unhappy not seeing his friends so in that sense he would been frustrated if he was 16 or 17. I've no doubt that he could have handled the on line learning part. Just glad we never had to handle what parents & their kids have to handle now.
  14. Yeah, you have George Parros a crazy former goon as the head of NHL discipline handing out suspensions.
  15. And in my province you need to follow the rules unless you're Jason Kenney & his cabinet. He made the rules but does not follow them... Yet he feels he did nothing wrong. More backlash just like last Xmas. All he had to say that he was sorry but nope... he did nothing wrong. Stupid ****. Didn't learn his lesson from 6 months ago. I haven't seen my youngest son & his wife since Xmas 2019 & my other son & his wife since last fall. We have followed the rules as have millions of Albertans so this hits deep as does having the dinner at the Sky Palace in edmonton. Alison redforsd had to resign over the cost of construction of this building as it is opulent. The PC's finished building it but when the NDP were in power apparently Rachel Notley never set foot in the place. The rule here is outdoor gatherings can occur but there can't be more than 10 people with no more than four from one household. So six or 7 different people aren't allowed for their working meeting... (burp!) (hic!!) contravened the rules. Man, people would have forgiven Ralph Klein or said big deal but not Kenney. He is reviled by everyone. His critics which are just about everyone just live for this stuff. https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/alberta-premier-says-sky-palace-dinner-was-fully-rule-compliant-as-backlash-continues-1.5455455
  16. I read today that your Premier was saying Thank God this pandemic didn't happen in 2017 as Pallister said he had time to fix the ICU's & health care system in Manitoba. Fixed so well that patients are being transferred out of province to Ontario & Alberta. Calgary & Edmonton are taking 5 patients each to start. What a fricking liar this dude has become. More like Pallister passing his failings onto other provinces. I hope you guys remember all this the next provincial election.
  17. George Thorogood says, "By that time you'll be plenty high... You know when you're mouth a gettin' dry, you're plenty high"
  18. The XFL needs to announce cities & who is running the teams. As well as starting to put organizations in place. I'm sure discussions are heating up now that they don't have the luxury of another year.
  19. The NHL continues to let a POS like Ryan Reaves do his thing. Parros was a goon & he loves what goons do. So, Reaves gets a virtual pass. Repeat offender as well. #Goonies
  20. Watch the merger suddenly take on a more serious tone with some urgency. No way the XFL/CFL if they merge want another league setting up shop in the big media markets in the US next year. If this new USFL is going to go in 2022 then I think the XFL/CFL will as well.
  21. What's happened to Doug Flutie? He looks gaunt. That's the biggest news here.
  22. What happened to Stastny?
  23. Here's a CP rail commercial from 1968. A little corny but still very well done.
  24. I watched in its entirety Game 1 of the Best of 3 1968 Western Final from Regina between the Riders & Stampeders. The Stamps would go on & defeat the Riders to advance to the Grey Cup vs the Ottawa Rough Riders. It was so great to see the heroes of my youth again. Stamps qb Peter Liske throwing darts into a 35 mph (60 kph) wind that day, Flanker Terry Evanshen spraining his ankle on a touchdown score, refusing to come out & gutting it out the rest of the way, He was interviewed by sideline reporter that day Don Wittman. He told Witt that "nothing will keep me out of this game." Rudy Linterman returning punts like a warrior with no blocking. On the Riders George Reed & Ron Lancaster along with halfback Silas McKinney, receivers Gordie Barwell, Al Ford & DT Ed McQuarters. Thoroughly enjoyed watching that game & seeing all those players again.. The other thing I enjoyed were the commercials. You know how we're subjected to one commercial playing over & over driving us all insane on TSN's coverage of the CFL? Back then, the major sponsors were Canadian Pacific, Labatts & GM. Not one commercial that day was repeated. Canadian Pacific especially. They sponsored the first half of the game & they had commercials about their refrigerated rail cars shipping frozen meat to suppliers & customers across the country, CP Hotels, CP Air flying across Canada as well as Asia & Europe, shipping ore from mining operations, CP taking cargo all over the world by container ships, CP Trucking, Passenger Rail service across Canada, CP Freight trains, CP Telecommunications like Telex, Broadband & a commercial how they move rail traffic across canada through their network of rail traffic control centres. Labatts had their song, "When you're smiling, say Labatt's Blue". GM introduced their lineup of new cars for 1968 including the Beaumont & others. It's strange to say this today as we all hate the same commercials repeated endlessly during games today but those old ones were all really well done. I was disappointed in CBC's Don Chevrier. He didn't have a great day describing the play. He got players wrong more than once. On one play he said that Stamps MLB Wayne Harris #55 had knocked the ball down from a Saskatchewan receiver when in reality it was corner Frank Andruski #24 for the Stamps. Harris was nowhere near the play so I have no idea how he came up with that.
  25. That logo should be on the helmets not antlers. It's a cool logo being wasted.
