I've been saying that for years. The CBC would be a natural choice for the CFL as they've lost the NHL.
-
The CFL needs to honour bonuses. Our idiot Commissioner seems to think that they aren't important. He made sure players didn't get paid these bonuses during the last CBA negotiations. And teams cut veterans days before a bonus is due. Bite the bullet & pay it for crissakes. Get rid of the 1 year deals & UFA. Only players with a certain number of years in as players & when they reach a certain age get to become UFA's,
-
Well, you can't blame them but... that is what is bringing the CFL down. Wholesale player movement & 1 year deals. Unless the NFL is ready to invest a ton of money into the CFL then I say no to these 1 year deals. We (CFL) play the nice guy & look what is happening. The NFL gets a player for nothing even though a CFL team spent its resources developing them. I'd like to see when they sign a contract then they're locked in. Get rid of these incredibly stupid 1 year deals & UFA. Make sure the players understand that once they sign a CFL contract they are locked in for that time period. Yeah, the players won't like it but so what? If things continue the way they are there won't be a CFL for them to play in.
-
The only way to stop these deals is to completely disallow them & go to restricted free agency. The league is going down because the owners & players are ******* morons. Take care of your fans first. Make them feel engaged again & let them get to know their players like they used to. Stop trying to please some hot shot rookie running back from Arkansas who has NFL dreams only. **** him if he doesn't want to sign a two or 3 year deal. And **** players like Henoc Muamba that could care less if they play on a winner or a loser as long as they get the money they want. Guys like Adam Bighill sacrificed while Muamba wants more. The CFL can continue to be run badly or make painful & hard decisions on player movements. If the players don't like it then they can retire. That's my take anyway.

CFL fans reaction:
-
I thought he was playing well enough when he got benched. I think he'll develop into a really good player. That's the thing with Canadian OL. Mostly it takes years for them to develop. Some just get to a certain level & can't break through to the next one. Others become dominant players. I'm just glad the Bombers came to their senses in 2015/16 & abandoned the idea of an All Canadian OL.

Yeah, but most pilots do. But there was no way to track the planes in that part of the world as the ocean is so vast. Maybe satellite tracking, I dunno?
-
Perhaps countries & airlines should invest in better ways to track aircraft in the South Pacific. In this day & age with all the scientific & technological advancements there must be a way to accurately track aircraft in that vast area using buoys or ships. Or tracking stations on deserted small islands. I have an app on my phone that tracks commercial airlines. Five years ago, my son was flying back to Canada with his fiance from Auckland to Vancouver. There was an American airliner about half an hour ahead flying on the same path from Auckland to LA. It disappeared off of my app in the South Pacific for about half an hour then reappeared. Then both planes disappeared again only to reappear later. My son's plane did the same. If I hadn't known the other airline had done so first, I'd have been concerned it crashed. These gaps need to be eliminated. As I said, that should be up to countries & airlines around the world to fund a better system, if there is one.
-
Well, unfortunately we'll never know. Just like what happened to Amelia Earhart. When seen last time, she was on ST:Voyager in the Gamma Quadrant, a victim of alien abduction.
-
The plane crashed. It is under hundreds to thousands of feet of water somewhere. Nothing points to nothing. Everyone is dead. They aren't being held prisoners on some forlorn & isolated South Pacific island. Aliens didn't take them off world. They're dead.
-
We're fine if everyone stays healthy which Neufeld has shown in the past that he can't. A couple of major injuries & we're in trouble. I think they'll draft an OL.
-
Yep. Things were in bad shape before the pandemic. No one listened to the fans. We were ignored. Except it will be variants & the number of people vaccinated that will determine how far this goes.
-
One year deals were in place before the pandemic. Fans were complaining they didn't relate or identify some of the players on their teams. Fans on every team were disengaging. The CFL knew fans didn't like these contracts & ignored everyone. This was in play before the pandemic.

2020 Blue Bombers Financial Statement Released
SpeedFlex27 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Now maybe people can see why things are so bad. How revenue streams available won't save the CFL. Why 3 down football is in peril. Why the CFL is in talks with Redbird Capital. -
The plane went down for unknown reasons into the ocean & was swallowed up by the depth of the water. Beginning, middle & end of story.
-
Good thing TUP is no longer here.
-
Two year deals won't stop players from signing. Where else they gonna go? This trying to please some rookie American players has sure helped the CFL out, hasn't it? Allowing players under contract a window of opportunity sucks as well. The CFL treats its fans like crap & see where we're at now.
-
Collins was acting like this is some kind of plot to screw the players. NO ONE could have foreseen the pandemic.
-
Not if you saw his tweets. I told him to quit shitting on the CFL which he didn't like.
-
Well, if the EU cuts off the Pfizer shipments we'll be in big trouble.
-
Wish I could volunteer & get paid $600 grand.

K Hajrallahu was proven & was absolutely abysmal his last year with the Bombers. His last game against Edmonton was beyond words... bad. He could kick FG's from 50 yards sideways in the stands or from the roof of IGF with the dumb trick videos he made but he missed converts & easy FG's. I remember K Sandro DeAngelis here in Calgary. He broke into the league like a house on fire. Then after a few years, the little kicker got a swelled head & dreams of the NFL danced in his imagination. He became a prick in the Stamps locker & his former best friend on the team P Burke Dales kicked the **** out of him one day before HC John Hufnagel got rid of him. He then bounced around the league in Hamilton, Saskatchewan & Winnipeg. Proven really means nothing. Moral of the story: You have one job. Don't let things go to your head.
-
Even with a 20% pay cut how is that going to hurt John Hufnagel? Or Wade Miller? Or Scott Mitchell. They're making in excess of $400-600,000 a year.
-
I have no idea if you're trying to be serious or funny. Like what kind of a ******* vaccine strategy is that??
-
Yeah, turns out it's not so much of an old fogey disease, after all. But hey, when you reached 45 you've had a long life. Be happy for that long life. A 25 year old deserves to live his/her life still. Your life is over.
