  1. No, my comment was more of a joke than anything. We had a poster here (forget who) that said the problem with XFL rosters will be the turnover of players every year & the first player I thought of was Muamba. he's the epitomne of what is wrong with the CFL. And how neither the owners or players want to fix it. UFA's sign their 1 year deals & then move on. They know that's a problem for fans & yet the league & players seem blissfully unaware of the problems it causes so like most problems with the CFL, there is no leadership or will to fix it. And that is why the CFL is where it's at today shedding fans like a bird when it loses its feathers. I see it as a total lack of respect shown by the league & its players towards us... the fans. The ones that pay the freight thru ticket sales & merchandising. They don't care.
  2. Muamba will never win a championship. He plays for money only. No loyalty to anyone. He never sticks it out. He doesn't play to actually help a team win a championship. As soon as his contract is up he's gone. If he happens to sign with a team that does then it's only because his timing was good.
  3. Buy Westjet stock.... Gonna take off.
  4. I don't get your point. He wanted to get back into calling NHL games. It was a career move. What about Dave Randorf? Gord Miller?? James Duthie??? They left the CFL broadcasts for other assignments. Does that make them disloyal, too?? Let's hope it doesn't mean Rod Black calls the Grey Cup. Gawd!!!
  5. If Henoc Muamba ever makes the CFHOF what team would he go in as?
  6. Your point about the one year contract is totally on point. Only a very few players actually live in the city they play because they move so much from team to team. Yeah, if they can handle adversity that goe s a long way to helping their careers advance. What happened to Paul Romanuk?
  7. Sure he is. He does love the CFL.
  8. Didn't Cuthbert make a name for himself in the 80's when during a CBC HNIC broadcast there was a power failure & as host he had to wing it for awhile n the semi darkness??? Apparently that catapulted his career.
  9. I have a simple answer to your question, Mike. I've said it once or twice here already on different threads & certainly on social media on twitter, facebook & Instagram. I'm 65. I've invested nearly 60 years loving the Bombers & the CFL. However, my love for my team runs deeper than my love for 3 down football. I will follow the Bombers wherever they go. I'll never say adios or stop cheering for them. No matter what football they play or league they play in. Not if the alternative is ceasing to exist.
  10. McAfee is a joke. Nuff said.
  11. Imagine the CFL trying to pay back $150 million had they got it with interest from the feds? That would have eventually killed the league, I believe. Each team would have to contribute $4 or 5 million a year for decades. Then the Bombers still are carrying their stadium debt on top of that. No way that gets huge loan would ever get paid back.
  12. If it's 4 downs they might. They sure won't watch 3 downs because for some reason it's not cool. So, what is there to lose when it comes to that demographic? They won't suddenly start when they're 40.
  13. Yeah but the chickens came home to roost because of the pandemic. Hopefully in the longer term it turns out to be a blessing. Things change economically. That's all we can really hope for, right?
  14. That's what the diehards here don't get. The CFL is becoming irrelevant. It's already like that in Toronto. The league will die anyway with the way things are going. We need to try something new. The definition of insanity is to keep doing things that don't work. If younger fans want to see 4 down football okay well, then that's what has to happen. I love 3 down football but I love the Blue Bombers more. I'll follow them wherever they go. It's all about the Team for me.
  15. This is just an example of one of the revenue streams that may be available that the CFL can't access on its own.
  16. So, what if.... this new league could get on a subscription service like Amazon Prime with 150 million customers world wide?
  17. Nope. I wrote hockey off.
  18. I can honestly say that when the Jets left Winnipeg in 1996, I stopped watching hockey. Totally & completely. I was angry & carried that anger for years after. I never switched allegiance to the Flames. In those 15 years I never watched one NHL game from start to finish. I didn't give a ****. And the Coyotes could go screw themselves. When the Jets came back in 2011, I started watching & caring again.
  19. It's the ONLY comeback.
  20. Well, so many people on social media seem against this but my question is, where were they in the stands in 2019 & the years before? That is a general question not limited to or directed at people here because most are fans who go to games. Same. I won't die on a hill defending Canadian rules & players if it means the team folds.
  21. Dude, go write a book.
  22. I'd be more worried about the CFL in its present state. They're broke. I don't think we know how bad it is. Ambrosie is making promises that teams will play. Teams are signing players, no fans allowed in the stands. I'm sure Randy goes into the back after another news conference & wonders how the hell the league will pull this off. I honestly think league bankruptcy is a real possibility. I saw a quote somewhere yesterday where Ambrosie said the XFL approached the CFL not the other way around. Do we really believe that statement? A league desperate for money is just sitting there & the XFL approaches them first??? I find that extremely hard to believe. This is why Ambrosie can't be trusted to tell the real truth. Just be honest with us. If it's bad we need to know as fans. We deserve at least that.
  23. BC: Yes, the Seahawks have penetrated the Lower Mainland market & have put a huge dent in season ticket & game day sales for the Lions. Toronto: Lost cause. The Bills are Southern Ontario's team, especially Toronto. I remember when the Argos were routinely selling out Exhibition Stadium with 33,000 seats back in the early 70's. Montreal: If you don't win they don't support it. Except if it's the Canadiens. Lousy sports fans other than hockey. Calgary: Stadium issues. The place is becoming a dump & people don't want to go anymore. No new stadium in the future. Edmonton: Piss off the fanbase for such things as firing 49.75 year equipment manager, Dwayne Mandrusiak. Change the team name & take a year deciding. Then have a list of names no one likes. Paying Scott Milanovich half a million dollars to watch video only to see him quit without conducting one practice. The Edmonton GM parting words when Scotty left was. "I hope we're still friends". The fanbase is not happy.
  24. Look, I appreciate you like Ambrosie. I don't. I never will. If the league is broke then he is a broken Commissioner. You can write all the thousand word essays telling me it's not his fault you like but it won't change my mind.
  25. Depends how big Dinwiddie's ego is & if he is a good delegator. The last qb HC I remember with no coordinator experience was Matt Dunigan in Calgary & he ended up not only being the GM & HC but also the OC & qb coach. He fired his OC, qb coach & STC all in just one season. Naturally, it was a disaster.
