  1. So what, Jacquie? if I go to the Canadian Football Hall Of Fame & see the Grey Cup why should anyone's name be on a base when the players names & teams are on the Cup? Just because they have a spare $400??? These names have no business in the CFHOF.
  2. if you don't think there aren't racist & bigots in our fanbase then you're quite naive. It exists everywhere.
  3. Be profitable by leaving the ENTIRE Grey Cup untarnished, Do something else. If that is one of the ideas to make money then this league is ****** .
  4. All due respect, Jacquie but you can't just dismiss TrueBlue4ever's comments as he's right. The base is part of the Grey Cup. Emblematic of the best team in the CFL which has nothing to do with having enough money to buy a spot on the championship base. Why not put sponsor's logos on it as well to raise money??? What about that?
  5. As an Albertan, I just want to say..... No freaking kidding. Instead of laughing we just cried at how bad the UCP government is. I voted for that POS Kenney. No way ever again. Meanwhile, it's the doctors fault we have a deficit in our province. Those evil bastards... It's not a monorail. It's a hyperloop. Totally enclosed so there is no friction caused by contact with the air so speeds of up to 1,000 kph can be reached. It's. A. Pipe. Dream. Supposedly the cost is $7 billion so we know by the time it would be finished iy would cost $14-15 billion. We seem to have money for that but no money for a safe start up to school.
  6. As much as I despise the Rider fanbase, there are a minority who are you know whats. Most of them are good people. It's a vocal minority that spoil it for the rest of them. Just like there are people who are racist in every fanbase that spoil it for everyone else. The Bomber fanbase is no different.
  7. Evans apologized for that tweet saying he was sorry if he offended anyone.
  8. Maybe if I felt that the the CFL BOG's & Commissioner actually respected the fans I'd be willing to do this but to me, we don't even rate as far as the CFL is concerned. If it did, they would get rid of UFA & one year deals. There is too much player movement & we get the same old BS excuse from the CFL telling us that one year deals are the best because we get better players coming up here. Funny, I don't see any Doug Fluties, Tracy Hams, Dieter Brocks or Tom Clements coming up here as qbs anymore. Can't tell me that Dan Kepley, Brian Herosian, Tyrone Jones, James West, James Murphy & Willard Reaves aren't as good as the players of today that only want to be here for a year. I'll never buy that argument as I've seen players from different ewras play & they were as good as any players coming up today. UFA causes nothing but chaos. Teams have a hard time building & maintaining a winning team with players coming & going. So until that changes & the CFL realizes they are nothing without US so they better respect us, I wouldn't spend a penny on this initiative. I'd rather spend the money on merchandise.
  9. in 2021, I hope the place gets another chance.
  10. It's really too bad as it was fun. The thing I liked is that you could have a disagreement with someone but it wouldn't be there for all to see months later. And arguments usually were dealt with fast as the game would continue on & something else would happen. Also there was a feeling of all us wanting the Bombers to win with the group. We as Bomber fans were in this together.
  11. Why did chat die out? Just a few years ago we'd have lots of people participating then suddenly it stopped?? I enjoyed the live banter.
  12. Throw the guy in jail and fine him. What an ******* ,
  13. Like the protestors care??? They're too busy smashing cars, looting & setting fires.
  14. My feeling is if Joe Blow player from Nowheresville State University wants to play in the CFL then commit to a minimum of 2-3 years. If that isn't for you then find another league to play in, brutha. Or go back to stocking shelves at Costco.
  15. You know, I can understand rookies signing 1 year deals but not veterans like Willie Jefferson. Veteran players shouldn't be able to do so.
  16. More guarantees. They can't be cut a day before a bonus is due, for example. Teams MUST live up to paying bonuses. The Commissioner shouldn't be able to tell treams not to pay bonuses when it is written into a contract as payment. That kind of a decision requires consultation with CFLPA. That is wrong & needs to be stopped. I don't think the teams can do much more than that. As far as players go... well, they have to realize timne, patience & money was spent from teams that developed them to where they are now. These teams need to be compensated. If that compensation means teams won't sign a free agent, too bad so sad. The third thing here is the players & league better start respecting the fans if they want to keep playing. No fans mean no games as has been shown by Covid. No tickets sold means no money. They need to think about what's best for the fans as well.
  17. Two things immediately would help the CFL I believe, as far as the fans are concerned. One, get rid of 1 year deals. Two, get rid of Unrestricted Free Agency. The 2 biggest complaints by fans are the fact that they don't know the players on their teams anymore as free agents come & go. So, it's hard to invest in a player as a fan when he could be gone the following season. Why should anyone buy a jersey for nearly $300 when it will be obsolete the day the current season is over? I won't. If I buy a jersey it will only have the name of players in the past like Reaves, Jonas, Murphy, Frank, Clements, Hufnagel, Raimey, Ploen, Lewis, Brock, West, Hill, Minnick, Browne, etc. No current players. I'd love to have a #5 Willie Jefferson jersey but where will he be after 2021? Player movement affects merch sales. So stem the tide of free agency by restricting it. Make a team pay for actually signing a UFA. If the CFL does that then I believe that'll go a long way to rebuilding some crumbling fanbases in the CFL.
  18. I never said 2015 was his final year. You said it. I didn't. I said he lost his starters job in 2015 & couldn't get it back in 2016. It's a fact that he rode the bench for the Niners before he was blackballed as he was the worst starter in the NFL. Even before he was injured. Injuries are part of the game. It's too bad he got hurt but that's life as a pro player. He was blackballed, which we know happened but he wasn't a star qb anymore. He got involved in domestic American politics taking on the Establishment & the decision to keep him out of the NFL was a political decision by the league as well. His ability as a player & being blackballed are two totally separate situations.
  19. Streveler says lots of nice things about us. Which is great. The way he talks about the CFL is the way Doug Flutie did when he went back to the NFL & he still does today. They both had fun playing up here & both respect the Canadian game as it's not easy to learn. And the competition is a lot better than they originally thought when they first came up here. as well.
  20. I agree. If this is an example of the league trying to come up with new revenue streams it's a hard pass by me & a fail. What did I or anyone else do to deserve our names on the Grey Cup "base"? Other than being a fan? Nothing.
  21. Kaepernick lost the starter's job to Blaine Gabbert in 2015. Check the video above & you'll see why. Like what does that last sentence you posted even mean??? Try what?? BTW, here's a story announcing he was benched for Gabbert. Maybe you need to go back & actually check facts before you mouth off saying stupid things. This story is from CBS Sports. Not Breitbart. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/49ers-colin-kaepernick-loses-starting-qb-job/#:~:text=Kaepernick has lost the San,5 interceptions in six games. Oh gosh, another story on the demise of Kaepernick & his game, blue-gold-84. When he absolutely sucked as a qb. And it's not Breitbart, either. Maybe you should read it. https://ninernoise.com/2016/08/26/colin-kaepernick-lost-49ers-quarterback-competition/
  22. Didn't say the fix wasn't in. We all know he was blackballed. But the only coach who get anything out of him as a pro was Jim Harbaugh. When he left Kap's game absolutely tanked. The hype over the guy is way over the top.
  23. Forget the social justice... As a qb he played brutal his final year. I mean, Blaine Gabbert was better than he was. sO ThAT iS trUE.
  24. Justin Townes Earle, age 38 & the son of country singer Steve Earle passed away on August 23rd. There were no details of his death but he had struggled with drug addiction his entire adult life. His father Steve survived his demons but unfortunately it would seem that Justin did not. He possessed the same musical talent his father has. Sadly, gone so young...
  25. There's no Camelot with that whole family.
