  1. I like the idea of BC Place. But it would e dumb to play all the playoff games indoors then move the Grey Cup to Winnipeg the second week of December & it's minus 30.
  2. Way to Go, Trump.
  3. Here's the problem, Trump may have 92% of the Republican base but Joe Biden is sitting somewhere near 96% of the Democratic base. There are more Democrats in the US than Republicans so Trump would still lose the election if those numbers held. He can't win with just his base. And there is no growth for him with women & racial minorities. I don't have the stats in front of me nor can I find them so I can't comment further.
  4. Just because Trump has enough votes to win the nomination doesn't mean he'll get it. The GOP brass could decide they no longer support Trump as well as the committed delegates who could turn their votes over to another candidate in a "brokered" or "contested" convention. With Trump's popularity falling & GOP Governors, Mayors, Senators & Congressman seeing their futures in their home cities, states as well as Washington dimming, the Republicans could oust Trump in an attempt to save themselves. If that happened, it would be riveting television.
  5. Senators who were tough talking in the 2016 Presidential election like Marco Rubio & especially Ted Cruz were cowardly quiet about this tweet saying they have no comment because they pay no attention to nothing Trump says on twitter. Personally, I think Trump is done & he knows it. He sees his Presidency frittering away & his popularity dropping. . I just wonder if he'll survive the GOP convention. Would the Republicans replace him??
  6. Hamilton. If any city know what it's like to experience a three decades long championship drought it's us. So, we know the angst Ti Cats fans are going thru. That & the fact we loooove playing the Cats in the Grey Cup.
  7. Same boat as in we're all subject to the same restrictions. I can't speak for personal, monetary or socio-economic boats. I understand that Covid 19 is wreaking havoc in some Indigenous communities, for example. The Same Boat analogy was a generalized statement & not a personal one.
  8. We're all in the same boat. We all just want to get through this & go back to what life was like last Xmas.
  9. I'm trying to get along with everyone here regardless of their beliefs. I don't want to make this personal so, I'm not here to argue. Just to make my point as to why I'm disheartened & changed my mind. If people can understand my position then I'll make an effort to understand theirs. We're all friends here.
  10. Starting in January permanently??? Going to August??? What a dumb idea.
  11. Well, 2020 sucks.
  12. Sorry TUP. Not here to argue with you or anyone. Just saying how I feel. Two weeks ago any large gathering would have been described here as Covidiots & severely chastized. Now, with all the demonstrations it's somehow "more important" & worth it... as in risking multi super spreader events. As long as the covidiots are demonstrators then it seems acceptable. I & millions like me are crossing the road the other way. As in **** it.
  13. Do it faster. Lift all restrictions for everything. No more self isolation if you travel. No social distancing in schools or anywhere else anymore. Get rid of the 50% capacity in bars & restaurants. Let pro sports & the CFL play. The US-Canada border is still closed. Open it up. If I go to Winnipeg, I immediately have to self isolate for 14 days. Why? Get rid of it. Don't give me that excuse that you don't want the virus in your province so keep the provincial border effectively closed by forcing visitors from other provinces to stay in a hotel room for 2 weeks. Can't have it both ways. If 15-20,000 people are allowed to demonstrate everyday it's obviously okay for them to go back to where they live infecting others along the way. That seems to be a socially acceptable risk now. Nope, governments at all levels lost me now & I was one of the biggest supporters of self isolation & social distancing to flatten the curve. Not anymore. Now, I believe it's a big scam. I know millions everywhere are asking the same thing. Just WTH is going on???
  14. People have seen the virus for what it's worth. Coming on in February & March at the height of the flu season. We didn't get overrun. Our HC system survived. People have moved on. BLM is the next big news cycle. Now, it's time for governments to move on as well.
  15. The CFL doesn't care about the past, at all.
  16. What resorts are open in Canada? Remember the US border is closed.
  17. Fall U Sports was cancelled today all across Canada. Next will be all fall & winter high school, community sports, hockey, junior football. Can't go to a movie or gym. Can't get together with family. Kids are forced to learn at home in front of a laptop. A lot are struggling. Let's sacrifice their education while we're at it because we sacrificed everything else. After all, it's their fault if they can't learn. Here In AB, schools won't open until at least September. Can't have weddings or funerals over 50. If I go to Manitoba, I have to self quarantine for 2 weeks. Really? Yet, demonstrators please don't yell, sing or shout. Don't forget to social distance. You must be tested. And if you demonstrated, it's okay to go ahead yell, sing & not social distance. And very few will get tested.
  18. Fine the organizers. The ones that grab a bullhorn & start speaking. The ones that love to talk to the media taking all kinds of credit for organizing a demonstration. Fine them heavily. Like I said, I'm extremely disenchanted as I did my part for months & I feel like I've been suckered in. I really don't feel like doing it anymore. Anyone who has been following my posts here know my feeling on police brutality & racism. That the cops needs to be reigned in & changes made. I defended the lockdown back in March & up to 2 weeks ago but now I've had enough. End this bullshit & totally open the economy.
  19. I get that but... when it came to demonstrations no one deferred to any experts. It just went ahead. No one stopped it. Seems demonstrations are okay but football games are not even though the crowds are similar in size. That is why I'm so disenchanted. It's okay to break the rules as long as it is politically correct. I lost my job. I've self isolated for months wanting to flatten the curve. For what? What a waste of my life since March. Myself & millions of others. We've been lied to.
  20. Don't see any difference between 20,000 at an outside political rally with people surrounded shoulder to shoulder & a CFL game.
  21. Defund the cops? Stop photo radar & red light cameras. That'll work. Just a road tax & cash grab. Police Chiefs will howl but so what?
  22. Okay then let the CFL play.
  23. It is 2 sets of rules. For all to see. For people like me & others who innocently lost their jobs, livelihoods, careers & businesses & in good faith have self isolated & social distanced in good faith to protect myself, family & others it feels like a slap in the face. These measures were put in placed to protect society & then suddenly it was ok to protest & ignore everything that has been done. Why should I now listen to anything my Province's Chief Medical Officer says?
  24. DR. CFL. are you saying Cuthbert gave up job security to leave TSN? That his Sportsnet contract isn't a multi year six figure salary paid annually?
  25. Am I reading what you just said, right?
