Back in 1993, I went to Gibson's Landing with the family. We got off the ferry, walked around for about an hour then we took the kids for a bite to eat. I kept looking for Molly's Reach wanting to go there. I saw an old sign for the restaurant leaning against a fence but that was it. So, we went into a diner to eat & as we ordered I asked the waitress what happened to Molly's Reach & why did it close down? She just gave me this "OMG Not Another One" look & said that Molly's Reach was a set from the Beachcombers & it never existed. My wife just looked at me with this, "You're An Idiot" look on her face... I can only imagine the waitress & what she was thinking.... "Stupid tourists".... WHO KNEW???

Well, of course that was in mid March & not today. Remember when BC, Quebec & Ontario said they'd close schools for just 2 weeks & then another week after that with Spring Break? A lot of what government was saying was based on that at the time. Those 2 months seem so long ago.

Well, they've probably signed quite a few new players that we don't know about by now. They won't be releasing anyone they think can be a difference maker. The teams won't be releasing a couple hundred players & almost 60 coaches at this point. They'll have to find other ways to cut costs.

Gotta hand it to Trump. He's actually killing off his base because they are too stupid to figure things out on their own. If there's a second wave, the country won't shut down, he vows. He advises to use hydroxycloroquine with no basis of fact it works on Covid 19 but has nasty side effects. Tries to blackmail Michigan dealing with the pandemic & a flood threatening to withhold federal funds during a dec;lared state of emergency & wants churches to reopen even in areas where the virus is still going strong. There are no words to describe this man other than absolute contempt. No wonder the US is mixed up & being torn apart at the seams with this guy offering no hope of leadership.

As you age, the fade away option seems much better. I used to say I'd rather die young & have a great looking corpse. I stopped saying that around 1994.

It's your choice to sit at home forever. What if a vaccine is never developed? Will you stay indoors the rest of your life? We as Canadians have done our share to flatten the curve but it can't go on indefinitely. Yes, I see how Americans are handling this with Trump & his Republican governors in charge. I shake my head when I see thousands of Americans flock to beaches everywhere not social distancing. That's what happens when you have no leadership at the top like they do in the USA. I would never put myself in that situation of flocking to the beach or join thousand in demonstrating as we've seen down there but it doesn't mean I won't go out up here in our country. So far in Canada even in Ontario & Quebec, our hospitals are not overrun. Doctors aren't having to make life & death decisions. It's nothing at all like it was predicted to be. Our economy is being torn apart on all fronts by this mandatory lockdown. Businesses are being destroyed. Lives ruined. People that need elective surgery were cancelled while hospitals sit empty. I'm for opening the economy. We're not ready yet for big sporting or concert events, though. I'm of the opinion that with the Covid virus among us, we're all going to get it at some point anyway. The frame on my glasses broke a couple of days ago & I had to buy new ones. Luckily, I kept my old pair as backup. I had an eye test today & saw an Opthamologist. They gave me a mask to wear & I bought new lenses & frames & didn't feel threatened at all. It had to get done & I went out. Life goes on unless you don't want it to. Just my 2 cents now back to the topic at hand.

Yeah a guy like Banks on a warm, dry track is definitely Speedy B. But put him in a situation of extreme cold where he relies on his speed to beat a defender & he is neutralized..

I was a big supporter of the lockdown but that was in March & April & now we're going into June. It was only supposed to last 2 weeks. Now it's over 2 months. I try to stay away from shopping centres & large stores like Costco be4cause a lot of people are stupid & selfish when it comes to social distancing. I used to shop at Superstore but that was before the pandemic. I now shop at my local grocery store. I pay a bit more because of it but to me it's still worth it. You're right that we can't stay in lockdown mode forever & the economy has to open up. If someone is scared to go out then stay home. We may not be ready for large CFL & NHL crowds, concerts, etc yet. I agree that teams can isolate if they must. It all depends how badly a league's officials, management, coaches & players want to do it. If you make $6 million a year then no question you would. If you make $60,000 in the CFL you may not want to.

can you imagine Brandon banks playing when it's minus 30?? Those antelope receivers on the Ti Cats will be crying... The cold weather will take a lot of finesse players out of their game.

Why would anyone want to go into business with McMahon?? He has no legitimacy when it comes to anything outside of wrestling.

They don't make a profit as a whole. The 3 teams in BC, Toronto & Montreal lose money. The others make or just break even. The nine teams aren't going to cut loose nearly 200 players & 54 coaches.

You have all these cheap solutions to make it sound so easy. The way you'd have it they'd go back to three coaches & a 32 man roster.

I didn't mean you can't comment on what I said. I just couldn't figure out why you felt you had to comment negatively on that particular post when it's been said by others here & on social media that the CFL might play or if not then die. Also you're entitled to your opinion which is fine. As far as bringing Covid 19 to Winnipeg, anyone associated with every team would have to self quarantine for 14 days. It would be severely enforced. The problem now is getting players over the border as it'll be closed for another month.
