  1. Coming soon....,,... soon..... soon.... soon.... soon...
  2. That was a classic scene from Enterprise: In A Mirror, Darkly.
  3. Dripping sarcasm...
  4. Edmonton has a low infection rate. And a huge stadium perfect for social distancing...
  5. Hey CFL, why not??? That would provide some much needed revenue. Props to Bundeslgia in Gsrmany for thinking outside the box. https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/coronavirus-german-soccer-club-to-fill-stadium-with-cardboard-cutouts-of-fans-upon-leagues-return-in-may/
  6. I think that phrase set me off yesterday while I was making supper. Every damn commercial. Yes, I know there will be better days.
  7. If the Bombers pay for maintenance then that's still a good deal as I believe a stadium like IG Field would cost anywhere from half a million to a million a year to maintain.
  8. I'm starting to go nuts hearing commercial after commercial saying. "We're in this together". Or, "We're here for you". No, they're not. They're saying that in hopes I'll buy something from them.
  9. I don't hate it but I think they've grown a bit too comfy in the way they do things.
  10. I see you added Booch to your list of people you don't like here. I'm crotchety? That's funny as there isn't a day that goes by that you don't criticize someone's opinion. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Well done, sir.
  11. Sorry, I don't remember that but if you say it happened then I believe you.
  12. Wow, this is one hill I don't want to die over with you. You can think whatever you want.
  13. Last October I was on a medical EI last year with my knee replacement. Just before I went back to work & I could finally travel, my wife & I went to Seattle to visit my son & daughter in law. I had to report the days I was in the US. If I didn't, I'd breach the agreement of not travelling outside of Canada while on EI. & have to pay back any $$$ owing. I reported the dates I was away & the money was deducted off of my EI payment so yes I believe the players that live in the US will be SOL. Just like any Canadian on EI. If you're Willie Jefferson, do you really want the CERB with taxes owing & the exchange rate even if they did send it to him in the US?? What's the point? It wouldn't be worth much.
  14. I think you're making more out of this than it really is.
  15. Disagree. TSN really does nothing to grow the game in Canada with Mickey Mouse people in the booth doing & saying stupid things. CFL viewership isn't really growing anymore. Sure, it's #1 on TSN but that is a cable network. TSN shuffles games on their different channels with no explanation. Rod Black doesn't sell the game. Neither does Sitor. if anything it gives the NFL loving crowd one more reason not to watch & make even more jokes about the CFL. We watch the CFL even when unhappy with the broadcasts because we have no choice. There is no competition. TSN is a monopoly. There is no reason for them to improve their broadcasts as they have exclusive rights. They also set the standard for $$$ to be paid to the league, Who is to say that if we had competition for the TV contract, that maybe it wouldn't be 20% higher? If they tell the CFL that will pay 20% LESS on the next contract then what can the CFL do?? The games should be on CBC, CTV, Global & TSN.
  16. Well, the government wrote it off so put the money back in operations. That was the NDP who made that crazy payment scheme. The Bombers didn't have a choice at the time.
  17. Yeah, Luck was a shitty Commissioner. Lol.
  18. So, why are the Bombers still paying for the stadium when the loan is written off?
  19. Lots of owners will leave or close their businesses. Just about every business is suffering. Not just football. Just because a restaurant fails doesn't put a black eye on that industry. It's not so much a bad look as reality.
  20. As a fan & the discussion around paying Americans as part of a relief program for the CFL I have 2 minds. I believe that the government should give enough $$$ to tide the league over. But these American players who signed their 1 year deal & are using the CFL as a stepping stone to the NFL?? Well, truth is that they don't live here in Canada other than during the season. Other than playing the game, getting in & then getting out as soon as the season ends, they have no further interest in the fans that supported them, the City that took them in & embraced tham as players. or the CFL that gave them the opportunity. Two years ago they had no idea where any of the CFL cities were. Other than wanting an NFL contract these players don't care if the CFL lives or dies after they leave... not a single penny. Screw them. Why should they get assistance? They can go back to bagging groceries or working in a warehouse in the States for all I care if there's no CFL. However, the guys who have come up here, sacrificed, spent years to help build the league & are veteran players that live in our communities year round like Mike Reilly in Vancouver, Bo Levi Mitchell in Calgary & Adam Bighill in Winnipeg deserve something. These players are just as deserving as any Canadian. They live, work, pay taxes & contribute to the communities they live in. That federal MP just slapped all of them in the face with his stupid comments. Maybe a residency requirement or a certain number of seasons played as well as disqualifying all American players with 1 year contracts should be in place for eligibility. If players with 1 year deals don't want to commit long term (two or more years) to their teams or the league then why should the government commit to them? They shouldn't.
  21. Hunt was just the front man. I don't think he was the guy with the money.
  22. He looked & acted like it was Christmas Day & he was 9. It was probably a producer's idea but you think he'd have known better.
