Quebec is... well, Quebec. Some things will never change. Instead of a wall just build a dome over it.

From what I read from Dave Naylor, the CFL is close to folding. Too bad they couldn't have built up a "rainy day" fund to help get them through these hard times. Too busy selling teams to bad or underfunded owners or living life on the edge by propping teams up when too many owners just walk away from their long term financial commitments over the years.

Hey, gotta hedge your bets.

I'm just saying that I don't think the present CFL business model cares about growing the game here in Canada the way it should. The goal should be to sell every seat in all 9 CFL stadiums. I get Toronto is a challenge with the Leafs, Raptors & Jays but in every other stadium it should be doable. They should also find revenue streams nationally & locally to reduce dependence on gate receipts. Charging $70 for a seat that will sit empty all season make no sense. One hundred per cent of zero is still zero.

Again, you're preaching to the choir. I agree with you but the Haters don't. I was in Toronto for business in 1997 the day when the NFL teased putting an expansion team in Toronto that instead went to Houston. The angry reaction was WE HATE THE CFL & WE HATE THE ARGOS even though they had nothing to do with it. The NFL used Toronto drive up the price of expansion for Houston & never had any intention of putting a team there. Toronto NFL fans have been waiting for an NFL team since 1959...

The United States thanks to Trump, the Republican Senate, Mitch McConnell & Republican Red State Governors have put business ahead of lives. Guess we'll find out in 2-3 weeks what will happen. Lord help them if they're wrong.

Doesn't matter. It's all about perception. Canadian NFL fans think the CFL is preventing Vancouver & Toronto from having teams. Doesn't matter what the NFL thinks or does.

Check out the social media comments that go with this story. The Haters said let the league die basically. By asking for money the CFL is being mocked as financial losers. One person said to let the Lions fold, put in real grass & get an NFL team. NFL fans (I presume) are just laughing at us. A pro league asking for money like a small business owner is doing. What is the one thing associated with the CFL by the generally "I don't give a **** about the CFL" crowd? Empty seats. The CFL has done absolutely nothing about it. For years, they've ignored how high ticket prices & televising every game meant fans stay home. There should have been a solution to attract younger viewers worked out by now, problem solved & it hasn't happened. The CFL did nothing about the negative perception that the league is failing because of half to three quarter filled stadiums. Now the CFL is asking for public money & all the Haters are saying why give anything to a failing league??? Perception is everything. The perception, especially by those in Toronto & Vancouver is that the CFL has a minor league product & it will eventually fold. Vancouver & Toronto will finally get NFL teams they deserve if the CFL will just go away permanently. That sentiment is on every Commissioner & the BOG's shoulders since former Commissioner Jake Gaudaur retired. The CFL will spend $$$ to grow the game in Lithuania but not in Lethbridge. We want to be bigshots in Chile but we're small potatoes in Calgary.

Ambrosie just made the CFL a laughing stock on social media. All the Haters have come out. Way to go Randy. Clap. Clap. Clap.

The stupid dumb ass anti vaxxers need to go away, too.

What can they say? We won. They lost. Ha, ha. Ha, ha...

Not having those Priders here is such a nice thing.

Being a former Rouger everyone I know from Riverview, Lord Roberts & River Osborne talked about Ellett's Restaurant on Osborne Street. It's been gone for decades but everyone I know used to rave about it. Too bad I missed out. BTW, if any of you went to Churchill High or grew up in Fort Rouge, there is a facebook group called Rougers. If anyone's interested.

I miss Chi Chi's.

Comic book characters should social distance. Who do they think they are, super heroes?

These players that run the CFLPA have had too many hits to the head. I'm not an Ambrosie fan but what the Hell can he do if there are public health orders in place denying groups over a certain number or the US border is closed? All the players seem to want to do is get out of their contracts & play in the NFL where maybe 1% of them can actually hold down a playing position on a roster. I used to be pro players when it comes to negotiations. Now, I've gone the other way because of the constant whining & bitching by them about everything. I'm now pro owners. I'd get rid of the one year contracts. Two new leagues have failed as will others that follow so there isn't a lot of leverage for the players anymore by threatening to jump leagues so 1 year deals are now redundant. They want to play in the CFL then sign them to 2 & 3 year deals. Bring in restricted free agency where they just can't walk away anymore. Lock these idiots down like it used to be if the whining & threats don't stop in the next collective agreement. If they don't like it then most of them can go drive a forklift at the nearest factory in the US. If they can afford to turn down $54,000 a year in this economy as Canadian players then more power to 'em. I'd have been so grateful to make that kind of money as a 22 year old when my working career hadn't even started yet.

I used to really like Garbonzo's. When we lived in Thompson back in the late 80's they had a sit down restaurant up there. They had take out & delivery only stores in Winnipeg. One close to our apartment on Rouge Road by the Domo gas station in Westwood where we'd order from all the time. We left for Calgary in 1990. I don't think they're in business anymore. Too bad as their pizzas were really good.

Pizza Hut is disgustingly greasy.

The NFL Network has the B & C Team working the draft. I guess the profile of this year's Draft isn't big enough for Deion Sanders & Rich Eisen.

One boss I had in the mid 80's 1985 & 86, was a piece of work. I was working in claims at hell, he was such an ass that I'll name the company... Portage La Prairie Mutual. This guy, wow. Talk about managing under terror & with a hammer & sickle. We had cubicles at work so we couldn't see who would be approaching our desks. This guy would walk around the office sneaking up on employees & admonishing them for all to hear if he thought they were slacking by yelling. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? WHY AREN'T YOU WORKING?? I DON'T PAY YOU TO STARE OFF INTO SPACE. GET BACK TO WORK!!!!" Employees were deathly afraid of him. My supervisor would sometimes go into meetings & come out shaking. He was a bully. A narcissist as well as a total & complete *******. I got fired after about 6 months of pure hell going to work in that toxic work environment. I remember my firing. Calls me in & says that I'm done but to stick around the rest of the day & finish off what I was doing. He didn't give me a reason for my firing but he seemed to be having a good time doing it. I remember looking him in the eye fromacross his desk & saying. "You're enjoying this, aren't you? He leaned back, put his feet on his desk & his hands behind his head & said, "Yes!" On thye way back to my desk, my super called me into his office & said, "I'm sorry this happened. It's not your fault". I asked him if he was happy with my work & he said yes which was the only thing that mattered to me. I told him I was never given a reason for my firing. He said, you were an Autopac adjuster & he hates Autopac. I started my career out of the U of M with them. I asked why did he hire me? He just shrugged his shoulders. I hope the guy had a paralyzing stroke or died of cancer. I never hated a boss as much as that loser. True story. But I never worked in an office like that before or after so it was an anomaly. I've been working since high school so after all these years I guess I was bound to work for some great bosses (which I did) & some very bad ones (like the guy above).

This incident happened recently at 24 Sussex Drive under renovations. Exclusive video obtained by anonymous sources.

It has been officially cancelled & I'm glad for that considering what we saw happening with no social distancing at the Brooks meat packing plant. If the Stampede had got an exemption, it would have been a disaster. As well as political suicide if a huge outbreak occurred. I feel for the vendors that will be negatively affected but I also feel for the owners of all small businesses who are already closed.. An example, is my barber who owns a hair styling salon. He employs five stylists. He's built a successful business over the years. Now he's lost 100% of his customers & income with no idea of when or even if, he reopens. I worry about him, his family & his employees. He may lose everything. I feel sad for everyone. The vendors at the Ex & Stampede will have to get in line like every other business suffering. They may not survive & there's nothing that can be done.

The insurance company I worked for in Calgary back in the early 2000's knew if we were on the internet even on our breaks. They did not want us surfing the net even on our coffee breaks or at lunch. Pretty serious consequences if you did like a verbal & written warning first & then being fired if you kept on doing it.
