The Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico were held in October 1968 because of the heat. It was cooler temp wise to have them in the fall. The Seoul Olympics in 1988 were also in September.

It also depends how long the US-Canadian border is closed.

The Riders have won the most Grey Cups in March. More than any other team. The problem is the game is played at the end of November.

Well, considering Angie was in a wheelchair with mobility issues, when Kapp hit him & he fell backwards out of his chair he could have easily been seriously hurt. Both of them are too old for this & should have known better. I find it sad rather than funny. The picture here was taken moments after Mosca's hit in the 1963 Grey Cup took out Lions all star halfback Willie Fleming. The hatred runs deep & long with these 2.

Just like we did in Saskatchewan last season. Going into the unfriendly confines of BC Place Stadium to win the 1984 Western Final. In those days, they'd get 59,000 fans to their games & noise was a real problem. Anyway, going down to BC Place, knocking off the arrogant Lions in front of their fans felt absolutely fantastic.

I used to post at CFL Horsemen but was perma banned last week because I dared to question the admin over some bullshit stuff he was saying. He said that he didn't understand why we are going thru all these precautions. Just let everybody get sick & build up a herd immunity. When he was told that wasn't a good idea because it overloads the health care system & that the goal is to flatten the curve so more people can be treated when needed. Then he told us his doctor said to him that this is just like the seasonal flu & it happens every year. His doctor just told to wash his hands & he's good to go. He didn't like his doctor being called out for giving bad advice & went into a rant basically saying that he trusts his "phuck..g doctor" over everybody else because he is medically trained & we're not. I answered back by saying the Alberta Chief Medical Officer didn't get her medical degree from the back of a comic book. When myself & a couple of others said his doctor was giving him bad advice he just went off on everyone. I was given a perma ban over it. I just wonder how many others he banned in his temper tantrum? I'm certain I was banned because he knows I'm a Bomber fan & just wanted to get rid of me. I'm okay with it & don't care. Guys like that admin (Geo Jones Dog) are just stupid dumbasses to begin with & on top of that he has a doctor giving him **** advice. Being perma banned there just makes me want to say my piece here & then stay out of it. Listen to your Public Health Officials. Follow their instructions. My wife is a nurse She has to work. She has no choice. You do. Do it for people like her that put her health & our family at risk to save you.

These are ******* doctors. How stupid were they??? They should have known better. So, when a physician says this is just like the flu, consider the source. Even doctors can be covidiots.

As stupid as those kids were, how stupid was the Governor of Florida not ordering a total shutdown of the beaches & limiting crowd sizes? He just outright refused.

Funny, I never really saw him wrestle.

Always wanted to go on a cruise until now. This could end up killing the cruise ship vacation industry. Wish Al & his wife all the best.

Yeah, he was probably one of the best well known players across Canada back then. They say john Barrow was a better player but he wasn't as famous as Big Angie. Mosca loved the limelight.

Great pic, though!

Looks like Angelo Mosca has more than football on his mind.... Enjoy, Zontar.

The Chief Medical Officer for Alberta announced today that the first fatality in Alberta from the Covid virus has occurred. Another 22 new cases in the past 24 hours brings the the total up to just under 150. (I don't have exact figures). She also announced that last weekend up in Edmonton there was a curling bonspiel with about 75 or 80 doctors playing along with a private banquet after when it was wrapped up. Two physicians including the Chief Medical Officer for Saskatchewan became infected with Covid-19. A physician who had returned from Las Vegas appears to be the culprit. Now everyone at that bonspiel & all the people these physicians & spouses were in contact with have to go into 14 day quarantine. These are freaking doctors who should know better than to have played that event. Meanwhile, this football tournament in the Lower Mainland took place at the exact same time. Even though every sports league, professional or otherwise had already shut down earlier in the week. Just total irresponsibility going ahead with it & putting coaches, players, parents & families at risk.

Trump is just crackers. He's lost the Presidency... Biden will take his place in January next year.

But watch the Big 3 telecommunications companies plus Shaw cable & credit card companies sic the collection agencies on people. Collection agencies & credit rating companies are going to be Canada's growth industries.

Yeah, I hear you. My wife & I were supposed to go to Seattle this weekend but that is cancelled. With our work schedules it may be nearly a year before we can both go to see our family. We'll have to make single trips when this Covid 19 virus is over. Who knows when that'll be.

"Can you say injuries? I knew ya could."

I wonder if we'll get to see Hamilton's "CFL Super Team" this year? At least according to Justin Dunk.
-
I can't believe they actually went ahead with this. The event took place last weekend! That was after the CFL cancelled all of its combines & FA workouts & the NHL, NBA & MLB suspended their seasons & the same day schools were closed indefinitely in Alberta. https://canadafootballchat.com/fpc-west-showcase-2020-mvps-preview-video-podcast/

No problem. Yeah, it would have been cool, no doubt. Even if he didn't play much. Just to be a part of a huge D1 football program. I still have that letter.

Post secondary school shouldn't be free as then it would have no value. But it shouldn't cost $25-100,000 a year either. In 2012, when my son was playing qb at a Junior College in Northern California, he got a letter from the University Of Oregon inviting him to try out as a walk on at qb. The letter was from then HC Chip Kelly saying my son was one of a hundred players recognized across the US as candidates to play at OSU & how some of them ended up with full time scholarships. After a few minutes & the excitement wore off in our family, I needed to come up with $30,000 US to pay his first year tuition. As a Canadian, my son didn't qualify for any scholarships from Alberta or from Oregon. He was SOL. I didn't have that kind of money, unfortunately. Ended up going to SFU. where he got his degree.

The only thing I agree with Bernie about is that all Americans should have access to single pay healthcare. The other stuff is gobbledygook socialism.
