  1. No veterans playing on that line... For sure.
  2. I missed the first half. How did Streveler look?
  3. Wow, we look terrible. I know we have a bunch of rooks in there but show some character & keep fighting. The Bombers look like they've given up.
  4. I was busy so I sat down to watch the game. All I'm getting is music saying the game will be streaming shortly. This has been going on for nearly 10 minutes. Never ending... Like WTF?
  5. https://giphy.com/clips/viralhog-viral-hog-jack-russell-dogs-enjoy-merry-go-round-NH4slFbUb0ft9qD20K
  6. Iran's President & Foreign Minister dead from a helicopter crash yesterday in dense fog of the mountains of Iran. Will they blame Israel??? Israelis are saying they weren't responsible. Some people celebrating his death with fireworks & dancing in Tehran.
  7. What reports? Who is saying that?? We've hardly had any news on the team at all.
  8. Where's Sam Hurl when you need him? The local press used to cover the Bombers like a blanket. We had award winning writers covering the team everyday at practice on the road & at home. Budget cuts, Postmedia layoffs over the last two decades has left us with just a couple of reporters covering the team gives us what we have now. The one league that relies on media coverage was the CFL. Now, it's virtually gone & this is what we get.
  9. Players were called Designated Canadians & I explain this rule on this thread.
  10. In the 60's, you could become a Canadian on a CFL roster after playing for the same team for (I believe) 5 seasons. So guys like Ken Ploen, Ron Lancaster,George Reed, D i c k Thornton, Wayne Harris & Don Luzzi could play as Canadians & not Americans. They also had to live in the community for that long as well so it required Americans to take up permanent residency in Canada in the city where they played. They were called "Designated Canadians under CFL rules. That probably explains why there were more "Canadians" playing on teams back then, then there are now. The thing that irked Canadian players is they felt that it took jobs away from actual Canadians so they hated that rule. I don't believe that anyone sued anybody. I think it was just eliminated in future CBA's in the late 1970's or 80's once these players with that designation retired. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Again, the Bighill injury comes down to terrible roster management & no succession plans at that position. Why we wouldn't sign a younger inside linebacker during free agency with potential to push Bighill out the door if he can't keep up is mind boggling. We all love Biggie but let's be serious. he's not the same player he once was. He needed to be pushed & it ain't happening.
  11. Barker has double blue blood going through his veins even though he's worked for the Als, Ti cats & Stamps. He's loyal through & through to Toronto to the point that they can do no wrong. hH seems to take offense whenever anyone criticizes the Argos. His emotions gets the better of him & he feels the need to defend the logo. As an analyst, he has to be neutral. Or at least as neutral as Milt is to the Bombers.
  12. Agreed. I'm friends with Jim & his comments are disappointing as he's totally in the wrong. The only way to change attitudes is to exert pressure on those making these questionable decisions. Unfortunately, it took public outcries from fans, media & female employees to make the Argos reverse course from their stupid decision of letting Kelly practice. Then, to use the "CFL said it's up to us" as an excuse was so outlandish. Yes, they may be correct interpreting the CBA that it's their decision but to everyone else the decision was wrong. I agree that Barker could be replaced as an analyst on TSN. I don't understand why Barker stuck his neck out when it would have been smarter just to shut up & say nothing. Dave Naylor, Farhan Lalji haven't said a word. Milt Stegall has only said that the Kelly Affair is "serious business". But he never gave an opinion. We already live in that world. How haven't you noticed?
  13. Do the Bombers still have a basketball & hockey teams like they used to? I remember the Bombers would play high school junior & senior high basketball teams back in the day. Some of those guys could really ball. My friend was an all star forward for Churchill High School in Grade 12. He ended up playing for 4 years at the University of Winnipeg for the Wesmen so he was a serious player. I guess a couple of Bomber players also were very good basketball players & they schooled the Bulldogs. There was a photo in our yearbook of my friend with his hands on his hips looking pissed off as one of the Bombers was doing a free throw. The hockey team played in the media league. There were a few media guys on that Bomber team as well. When the Bomber basketball team came to a high school it was a big deal. The gym would be packed wherever they played.
  14. What is wrong with Oliveira & Demski?
  15. From one Albertan to another. If you don't like it...
  16. Well, that's not good.
  17. Meanwhile $600 one way to Victoria.
  18. Amazing how this just fell off the news cycle. The 4 or 5 people coverinng the CFL for the media & Argo fans have moved on. MLSE were counting on it.
  19. Did Kelly practice with the Argos today ? No word anywhere about it online.
  20. It was the coach's decision to play him in the Grey Cup.
  21. Yeah, this can't continue. The Argos will bow to pressure & tell Kelly to stay away as he should. John Murphy should lose his job.
  22. Only the Argos can say a suspension is not really a suspension. The blow back on this is going to be monumental. And according to Clemons, the CFL & Big Leader Commissioner Randy Ambrosie says it's okay??? What garbage.
  23. What a big F U to the rest of the league & the safety of women in the workplace by the Argos.
