  1. Ottawa just looks bad. We know Montreal already is.
  2. Manziel getting no help from his craptastic receivers.
  3. Yet they'll always find a guy with a horn or some woman screaming for an entire game. Hey, at Molson Stadium TSN even pipes all the music & French PA announcements into our living room for our "enjoyment".
  4. Both are realities. It is what it is.
  5. We can't go deep as much as we did. We aren't a vertical quick strike passing team like the Eskimos. It's ridiculous to try so often. Our offense is at it's best when Nichols spreads the ball around to everyone & uses misdirection. There was none of that last night. Offensively, Harris won that game for us last night. He was our only weapon.
  6. The Heir Apparent to Weston Dressler who seemingly just can't stay healthy.
  7. You have to be a punter to know how hard that is.
  8. A win is a win. Not every victory will be a Rembrandt.
  9. Is it time to start looking at replacing Loffler with an import? He has been invisible tonight & this season. Bring in some safeties for look see
  10. I thought having a Stamps game on the Sat night of the August long weekend was crazy but that's TSN. They said 27,000 showed up but I know McMahon Stadium & there's no way. More like 23,000. I was in Winnipeg & I watched the game at my In Laws. I know the fan support for the Stamps right now in Calgary is luke warm after what happened the last 2 Grey Cups. They wouldn't get a bigger crowd for a game on a long weekend on a Sat nite.
  11. STH's get discounts that the walk up crowd doesn't.
  12. Well, glad you mentioned June. June can be nice for sure. However on the flip side, I've seen some crappy ones in my life both in Calgary & Winnipeg. We're also talking weekend games. People have cottages & they're at them in June. In Calgary, tens of thousands of people head out to the mountains in Banff, K Country or SE BC. I also find June is a busy month for a lot of people. Going to a Bomber or Stamps game isn't a priority.
  13. Forgot to mention.... I forgot Mom used to buy me my favourite treat sometimes but not always.... fish & chips in the restaurant at Eaton's in the basement where they had a meat department. If I was behaving.... I can still smell that place in my mind.
  14. I have heard that some people don't like such an early start with so many summer games as they're on holidays or at the lake so they can't be there. Families take vacation this time of year & are gone. I don't think starting & ending the season earlier will magically make attendance go up. In fact, it may go down. To me, ticket pricing is the biggest barrier. People won't pay for high priced tickets as walk ups.
  15. When I was a kid in the 1960's, my Mom used to take me shopping with her. I absolutely hated it. We'd hop on the Morley Bus & then transfer onto the Salter Bus on Osborne Street for the ride to Eaton's or The Bay. Sometimes we'd start at Eaton's & go to every. damned. floor... then we'd walk from Eatons' to The Bay & do the same thing. Very occasionally, we'd bus it over to Polo Park but that meant a day's worth of shopping which was a nightmare to me. I remember whining the entire time everytime we went. Finally at about age 11 she let me stay home by myself.... Felt like a grown up!!! I sure remember those days walking Portage Avenue on the south side.
  16. How do you overcome this? Dramatically lowering tickets, parking & concession prices. I've always maintained that charging $90 or more for an unused ticket is ridiculous as it sits empty making no money for a team. Whole sections of high priced tickets sit empty for an entire season in stadiums across the CFL. Teams need to lower prices in some areas to anywhere from $25 to $40 the closer to midfield & every ticket sold then goes into team coffers. Those tickets will sell. I think the CFL has to really look at its ticket pricing structures to get a handle on it. Pricing now is insane & people stay away & watch at home.
  17. My niece lives in Amsterdam & there seems to be very little green space anywhere. The buildings are historic & beautiful dating back some 500 years but the place is all stone & concrete. All of Europe seems to be like that. If I'm wrong then please feel free to correct me as I've never been to Europe. That's just my impression.
  18. Not convinced Masoli is an elite qb YET. He ran Johnny out of town so there's that.
  19. Ya think? LOL. Derrell Walker & Duke Williams would make Drew Willy look good. I like Mike Reilly but put him on a team with average to below average receivers & he'd be nothing special. The Esks have made sure to always surround him with big & talented pass catchers. I do wish we never gave up so fast on Kenny Stafford.
  20. Guys like Justin Dunk & the national media sure don't respect the Bombers. Every game they seem to be picking the other team.
  21. I don't dispute that as what you said is valid for sure but I think the fence sitters, the ones that want to watch their team play would go. The person who isn't a fan would never go anyway but casual fans would. When a home game is televised people will stay home to watch it. Just human nature, I think.
