  1. I'm no Calgary Flames fan & the chat in the summer about the team when nothing is going on makes me not tune in that is for sure. I can only stand so much.
  2. No more challenges than they are. Right or wrong I like it just the way it is. The game flows again with no more annoying bogus challenges.
  3. The CFL doesn't have Sportsnet or TSN trying to uncover every stone about the league along with rumours & innuendos (mostly Leafs stuff) with their knw it all experts panels. I mean here in Calgary we have Sportsnet The Fan 960 who will send their on air staff out to breathlessly cover live the Flames Alumni golf tournament all day. The CFL doesn't get that kind of coverage.
  4. The Tories elected a leader in Scheer who also wasn't ready. Intellectually, I'm sure he can hang with Trudeau but most Canadians don't seem impressed with him as Opposition Leader. He doesn't talk policy & is in solidarity with Quebec dairy farmers who support Supply Management as they got him elected leader. He's seems invisible unless that's the way the Lib press is treating him. As far as the NDP goes, they will never win with a Sikh leader. He'll get some votes but he'll never be PM.
  5. I know The Searchers very, very well. I've been a fan of John Wayne for a long time.
  6. Had Jeffrey Hunter taken the role of Captain Pike in the tv series he certainly wouldn't have been on the set of Cry Chicago & therefore may have lived for many, many years. Very sad what happened to him.
  7. Yes, In King Of Kings.
  8. I don't know if Nuff says is negative or positive. I hope it's positive. From 1950-69 he appeared in over 50 motion pictures including The Searchers, King of Kings & The Longest Day. For a time he was a leading man in Hollywood. From 1955-69 he also appeared in 20 television series as a guest star in such series as The F.B.I., Daniel Boone & the Green Hornet.
  9. Toronto TFC doesn't have a problem with it's location.
  10. The latest excuse is there was a strike & people couldn't bring their cars as the couldn't park.
  11. We certainly could see that & we didn't need to be there. Was he there?
  12. Jeffrey Hunter the actor who played Captain Pike in the original 1965 pilot The Cage & later when the pilot was reworked into the 2 part story called The Menagerie on ST: TOS was either committed to another project or had no interest in the part of Captain Pike for the Star Trek tv series. The role of Captain Kirk was given to William Shatner & the rest is history. He certainly made Kirk his own man. Hunter died suddenly in May of 1969 of a cerebral hemorrhage six months after suffering a severe head injury on the set of a movie in Spain called Cry Chicago in November of 1968. A stunt in a scene he was in went wrong. A rigged explosion while he was sitting in a vehicle was supposed to throw the shards of a car window out but instead threw it inside the vehicle striking him in the head. He also took the full force of the explosion as well suffering a severe concussion. He was 42 years old.
  13. Might cause a lot of violence & maybe a civil war.
  14. Banks has blossomed under June Jones so I don't think he goes anywhere. Teamed with Chris Williams & the Cats now have 2 speed burners for Massoli to throw to.
  15. Old School tradition...
  16. Whoa be it to any politician who does not listen to the people after they spoke. Especially after a plebiscite which costs a lot of taxpayer money to put on the ballot. If it is a resounding defeat, then it would be political foolishness to ignore the results of the plebiscite. Especially if the congestion gets worse slowing down the commute thru that intersection & it will. People will be angry & blame Bowman.
  17. You can't be upset if that is what voters want. It's what the people want.
  18. Yeah, been to Vegas. Crossing the street won't kill you but the taxis willing to run you over to get into the hotels on the strip will. The traffic at Regent & Lagimodiere isn't nearly as busy as P & M. Traffic at lunch or rush hours is nuts. Guess the voters will decide in October. It's been closed for nearly 40 years. A couple of generations of Winnipeggers have never seen it open. I'll be shocked if things change after the municipal election.
  19. I used to work downtown (one of the first jobs I had after university so a freaking long time ago) in the Grain Exchange Building. I used to bus it to work & got off right in front of the Richardson Building & then walk a block or so to my work. At lunch, the thought of crossing that godforsaken intersection never crossed my mind even though Eaton's was close by. It's just so bloody huge. I don't think many people would want to cross it if it was open.
  20. Sorry to see Bowman go. Still don't know if this is scheme related using Bowman as more of a decoy to open up others or he just wasn't getting open or thrown to? Turns out we could have used that money for another player regarding the salary cap.
  21. Hope Henoc is enjoying the circus. Looks good on him.
  22. I Yeah, sounds right. Hard to keep track of some of these players names.
