Yeah, Fleury got hot & then got into the heads of Connor, Laine & a few other Jet players. Hopefully, a year of experience will help them all play better next year.

To get back to discussing the missing Malaysian Airliner. I have an app on my phone called Flight Radar 24.It tracks each flight in the world in real time. In November of 2016 my son had travelled to New Zealand. I texted him before he left with his flight info on his flight back from Auckland to Vancouver. When his flight took off I was able to track it. About 3 hours later his flight just disappeared from the app on my screen. I was a little concerned but after an hour his flight reappeared only to disappear a half an hour later. Eventually the flight reappeared again but by that time I had gone to bed. Next morning I checked again & his flight was approaching North America. My point here is that the Pacific Ocean is so vast. There are areas where planes literally disappear for great lengths of time as there are no islands or no continents even close. It is so isolated that even with GPS technology the planes still disappear. To me, this is what happened. They were lost in an isolated part of the world over nothing but thousands of square klms of water with no land anywhere. Plus, if they veered off course & crashed, no amount of modern technology will find them if the aircraft went down in 35,000 feet of water which may have happened. If we can't find people lost in the bush on land in Canada how can we expect technology to find a lost plane over the Pacific or Indian Ocean?

Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?

We had Justin Goltz who should have been a receiver as he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 20 feet away but he had nice cuff links. We had Brian Brohm who should have been a ball boy. Then there was Robert Marve who needed two new knees. And finally there was Drew Willy who needed a shrink. All thanks to the pylons we referred to as offensive linemen. -
All those Rider qbs could start not only in the CFL but the NFL as well & be Pro Bowl players. Best damned 4 qbs in the history of the CFL. What awesomeness according to Pederson.

No sense worrying about Elliott who was here five years ago. That ship has sailed. -
Yeah, remember May of 80. It was a hot one. One month I'll never forget. I developed appendicitis early that month at work & had to have an appendectomy. I was off work for 3 weeks that month enjoying the sun & warm temps in my backyard with pay... on a medical leave because of it. I had a nice little holiday.

No guarantees they'd ever find it. Looks like the Pacific or Indian Ocean swallowed it up. At it's deepest the Pacific Ocean is over 35,000 feet deep. Very difficult to map something thru so much water & topography as it would cause distortions. How much more can they do? Like Amelia Earhardt, despite many searches the past 80 years, her plane was never found. Private individuals & companies will continue the search for the missing airliner. It may ultimately become the biggest mystery since Earhardt.

Yeah, who knows why they brought him back... is it a serious opportunity or an extra arm for practice? Hopefully Bennett is given a chance this time. -

The term "training camp fodder" comes to mind here for Bennett & Apodaca. -
He says he is feeling much better physically this year & claims he plans on running with the football much more; With the stable of duds they have behind him, Dave Dickenson must be saying, "Please no..."

You must have watched a different series than me. I just saw Gumby don the pads & mask for Vegas & go in & make flukey saves others couldn't make. Then smirk afterwards. Gumby appears a bit stiff this series, Poor guy.
-
Those guys moved around. They had the most success not throwing from the pocket as they weren't tall enough to clearly see their passing lanes. They found ways to lose contain every game they played. Defenses couldn't stop them. Most DC's plan that their defenses will play 12 on 11 as most qbs stay in the pocket & barely run so there's not a lot of concern there. With the 3 aforementioned qbs they had to game plan 12 on 12 which is a problem believe me.

To me, guys like Flutie & Clements were great scrambling qbs but the most dangerous qb I ever saw play was Tracy Ham. The amazing things he did on the field... he was just scary good. He could beat a defense in so many ways... with his arm, legs, creativity & overall athleticism. As an opposing fan he broke my heart so many times when he was an Eskimo. He was so frustrating at times. Getting away from a sure sack & scampering for a first down or finding an open receiver downfield just left me screaming at the field from the stands or at my tv set at home. .
-
You could hardly classify Ham, Clements & Flutie as pocket passers. They scrambled & moved the pocket. They used their legs to extend plays allowing their receivers to create separation. Most great CFL qbs were ad libbers.
-
Another outstanding ad libber was Tracy Ham. As far as adjusting I think Manziel will. Playing at Texas Tech & then with the Browns he should be able to pick up the little nuances to be successful. Other qbs have done it so the reasonable expectation is that he will as well. The only thing that will stand in the way will be Manziel himself. The amount of video/study time he puts in to learn. It's all up to him as he'll be given the chance & the time. Unlike others who were buried by their own teams behind two front runners.

It appears it may have been when Austin Apodaca was recruited by Washington State out of high school where he was listed at 6'1 & 175 lbs... Apologize for getting Apodaca's height & weight wrong. I know I read that stat but it obviously is wrong. So then, you have to look at the qb situation here last year & why Apodaca didn't stick. The Bombers had committed to LeFevour & Davis. Unless something tectonic happened he was never going to stick with the Bombers. It just comes down to team politics. Apodaca never would have been given the chance to succeed. The Head Coach & OC pencilled in Davis & LeFevour to be their guys. Now all 3 of them are gone. It is what it is. -

Apodaca has a tryout with the Bills coming up. I think what's holding Apodaca back is his (lack of) size. At 6'1 & 175 lbs he may have trouble seeing through the passing lanes from the pocket. Can a guy at 175 lbs survive the shots he would take as a CFL or NFL qb? I think all teams have those concerns. Especially when the next qb on a pro roster beside him is 6'4 & 225 lbs. . -
The plot line will be family struggles after mother thrown under the bus.
-
Fleury stole the series with the Jets. It's good to see that one trick pony Vegas team down 2-1 & Fleury's sad eyes wondering how that last goal just went in. I'm not watching the series except occasionally I may flick it on for a few minutes here & there. Want the Caps to keep pouring it on.

True but I think he was just too inconsistent even with the lack of talent around him. -

Streveler went out & DID HIS JOB. He did it well so let's congratulate him& let him enjoy the week leading up to the game in socialist BC. -
Doug Flutie was a pretty good ad libber as was Tom Clements. The difference between them & the other guys at qb was the fact they could see the whole field & both were very smart players. They both made things happen.
