  1. It was a decent place when the original owner was running things. CRF came in, bought the site & down the hill it went.
  2. His base will say he did great & we know it.
  3. A disaster of a trip but progressives will still say a success. As will the left wing media down east.
  4. Friends. Not friend. You just twist **** around to suit whatever you want to think. You seem to know so much about the Maritimes, why don't you enlighten us for a change about CFL football down there?
  5. Funny how "market research" works so well in Toronto. We can only hope that the CFL is aware of this amazing tool.
  6. The trouble is he'll be elected again & we all know it.
  7. There's history in Wpg & Calgary. In Halifax there's none. Haligonians & people from the Maritimes go to Boston hence the support for the Pats. My wife's friends used to live in Bridgewater, NS. Huge Pats fans. Don't knw if they'd support a CFL team because we never, ever discussed it. Love to see the CFL succeed but is there a groundswell of support for a team?
  8. Not a lot of young fans at the fan fest with Ambrosie. It was mostly fans in their 40's & up. I'm sure most Millennials are Pats fans. That Maritime market may be a lot tougher to crack than people think. Boston & New York aren't that far away. NFL loyalties are set after years of following teams south of the border. I'm sure a lot of potential fans are thinking the CFL ignored them for over half a century so why should they be excited to support a CFL team in Halifax now?
  9. Until they announce a new stadium it's a pipe dream.
  10. Just like 1978 which turned out to be as good as the Charmin Go.
  11. No stadium. No team.
  12. 17to85, do you remember 2013, 2014, 15 on offense? Quit whining. Enjoy winning instead.
  13. Yeah, I do. From 1967.
  14. We were the highest scoring offense in the CFL last year. Or do you two have something else to ***** about?
  15. With Roh & Fenner on D with the additions we have offensively I'd say we won. If we sign Muamba then call it a Grand Slam home run!
  16. Hebert was signed within hours of his release. That tells me he was still wanted.
  17. The potential owner shot it down & seemed annoyed at the media guy for what he did.
  18. No. I have no idea what you're talking about. You aren't making any sense.
  19. For it's time it was fine. Discovery is better because of technological improvements. We're talking 20 years so I don't understand why you ask?
  20. Janeway is not a likeable character. She claims to follow the Prime Directive & wants to get her crew home. Yet she ordered them to waste time, fuel & resources to explore when it should only have been about getting them home asap. She used the PD for purposes that suited her. She would pit one side in a dispute against the other for her convenience. Some of the characters like Neelix were just so damned annoying. I liked Enterprise a lot better than Voyager which is my least favourite Trek series.
  21. Don't like the Klingons either. But the writing & effects are so much better than on previous series. Just check out Voyager for that on Space.
  22. You can't count him out no matter what. You should know this by now. Nothing is guaranteed.
  23. Yet, he seemed to be having fun doing it & not being an ass about it like others after him were. He said some brash things & at times they came back to bite him in the ass so he gave as good as he could get. I later became friends with Argos qb Greg Barton & if you knew him there isn't a nicer or more humble guy around. He told me hated the whole Big, Bad Argos persona as he is nothing like that & was uncomfortable with the whole thing but put up with it as it was part of Leo selling tickets.
  24. Man, Leo Cahill passed away today. Such sad news. He was 89. For you younger fans who may know very little or nothing about him he was a colourful individual & character. A master recruiter bringing us the likes of Joe Theismann, Jim Stillwagon & Jim Corrigall to the CFL. He made the Argos the talk of the town in Toronto in the early 70's & easily made them by far the most hated team in the CFL with their brashness & arrogance. I remember being a teen & going to Winnipeg Stadium in 1971 or 72, whichever year they played at the stadium & hearing the chorus of boos rain down from the stands. And he loved every minute of it. RIP Leo Cahill.
  25. Wonder why AC wouldn't coach in Toronto as Trestman's qb coach? He knows his system. Would have made perfect sense.
