  1. Jerry was a great player. He could play both ways & was not only an All Star qb. He was also an All Star defensive back as well. Cut in the same mould & from the same generation as Ken Ploen. Both guys could go both ways. Keeling came into the CFL in the early 60's playing defense while being the Stamps backup qb at the same time. It wasn't until Peter Liske left Calgary for the Denver Broncos after the 1968 season did he get a chance to start. He quarterbacked the Stamps to a Grey Cup victory in 1971 & along with former Blue Bomber qb Rick Cassata, the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1973.
  2. SPuDs he's just sayin'. Floyd isn't wrong.
  3. Impressive of all the former women wrestlers. McCool did a helluva job, She could still hold her own even though she's been away for a few years. I thought. Asuka is going to injure someone with her moves. That move on the rope with one of the Bella twins was insane.
  4. Yeah. I don't know where this talk of a knee injury started. No one can say that barely 3 months after a torn Achilles that Leggett would nearly be recovered. Just no way.
  5. In this case it's good to be old.
  6. Woman's Royal Rumble. I thought of all the wrestlers in that match... Michelle McCool was the most impressive. She should get back into the ring. Lana should just be Rusev's valet. Wait, with Aiden English singing about Rusev Day she can't even do that.
  7. And beat out Harris?
  8. LaFrance would be a backup to Harris here. That'd be it.
  9. The MLB in Ottawa would be a great addition. I forget his name.
  10. Kids, especially Canadian ones coming out of university are broke. They take whatever help they can get. Unless a Canadian player is figured to go in the top 2 or 3 rounds they won't be represented by a top agent.
  11. I hear a new tv deal will mean just a 2 hour Raw which is a good thing.
  12. MLSE should change all that. The Argos practice facility burned down in a fire a few years ago when David Braley owned the team. In typical Braley spend no money & grind the team into the ground style of ownership he never replaced it.
  13. Uh, if he makes league minimum then how can he make $7 million dollars an hour? Plus you don't factor in practice times, meetings & travelling.
  14. Strategy: Trash your team so they'll get upset & release you.
  15. Yeah, hold the Mayo probably permanently.
  16. If there is one team we want to see the Jets beat (crush) it's the asshat Anaheim Ducks.
  17. The way Dickenson was describing Mayo a few weeks ago to the Calgary media I think his career is over.
  18. Makes all kinds of sense to use a name that crashed & burned.
  19. I remember that commercial. I don't recall whether I liked it or not. It was awful though but that was the whole point of it. Anyway, I know Abalon advertises on CJOB & when I heard "foundation repair" I had to post this. Small business owners do strange things especially when that small business is struggling. Even in 1985, just $50,000 in sales revenue wasn't very good as foundation repairs aren't cheap. I loved the fact the guy went to the job sites in his dress shoes & casual jacket. Think he ever got his hands dirty or gave advice to the guys doing the work? I'll bet he never had one callous on his hands. But he was a cheesy singer. Whatever works, I guess. As far as Kevin Evans goes, I went to the 1986 Grey Cup in Vancouver. The night before we hit the bars downtown & I ran into him & Stan Kubichek. I had a couple of drinks & chatted with them both before we left & went somewhere else. Evans is like 5'4. Just a little guy. Is he even in the broadcast business anymore? I think he lives on the West Coast now. What about Stan? Anyone know?
  20. Slow news day back in 1985.
  21. Six million. One hundred thousand dollar increase every year for the life of the agreement.
  22. The salary cap is too low to begin with. So, an adjustment needs to be made. Players should be making more money. More on the low end of the scale & less for the higher end.
  23. With a new CBA there has to be a major revisit of the salary cap. These dinky little incrememental increases every year don't help at all when trying to re-sign players. Wilder won't get an NFL job sitting at home so I think he'll eventually play.
