  1. But Wentz , Allen, Darnold, Rosen or Goff never would have been here anyway. It's apparent that some of them are pro ready. Any rookies we get up here aren't. As far as making a difference, would Jonathan Jennings have made an NFL roster or Pipkin. McLeod Bethel-Thompson was cut at least a half dozen times. The guys we get for the most part cycled out of the NFL, weren't drafted or had personal issues.
  2. A better photo of Buck Pierce.
  3. BC Lions quarterback Jerry Tagge trying to evade the clutches of Blue Bomber Defensive End Jim Heighton in a game at Winnipeg Stadium in 1977.
  4. It wasn't meant to be funny, Source. The guy was a warrior. I don't post any photos so players can be made fun of or mocked.
  5. Jim Spavital was a fullback for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from1951-53. Later on, he was Head Coach from 1970-73. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/12111525/james-joseph-spavital
  6. Before Ben Hatskin brought Bobby Hull & pro hockey to Winnipeg. Ben Hatskin owned a race car in the 1950's. So did my father. They competed against one another for a few years. Both my Dad & Hatskin hired professional drivers. It was just before my time from about 1951-54. I heard it was a lot of fun but time consuming & expensive as the car was always being worked on between races. Too bad I missed it.
  7. The story of Jeff Nicklin who gave his life for his country in World War II. He certainly was a hero. http://westenddumplings.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-greatest-blue-bomber-youve-never.html
  8. Blue Bomber DT Doug Brown beats Hamilton Ti Cats OG Simeon Rottier straight up & gets the sack on Kevin Glenn.
  9. Better defense than the start of the year. We still have only won 5 games.
  10. Yeah, we have no young qbs like Carson Wentz or Jason Goff in our league.
  11. I'm sure there'll be someone there from his family.
  12. Not hit the guy. I'm not that dumb. He'd put me 6 feet under. LOL.
  13. Guys used to take chair shots to the front of the head & it wasn't just a one time deal. They did it all the time. How can that not cause problems years later. Look at Chris Benoit.
  14. Lots of people do. The Saudi regime is one of the most oppressive on the face of the Earth. But money talks, I guess. No scruples or morality for Vince.
  15. I'm not unhappy with Roh's play this season. Westerman wasn't going to sign here. He signed in Montreal for $25000 more than here.
  16. When I was a teen back in the late 60's & early 70's my neighbour across the street from me on Clare Avenue in Riverview was a huge Bomber fan. Except he had seen it all from the beginning. He used to tell me stories about the pioneers of the Blue Bombers & other teams. Guys like Fritzie Hansen, Russ Rebholz, Keith Spaith, George Trafton, D i c k Huffman, Bob Fritz, George Druxman, Jack Jacobs, Tom Casey, Neil Armstrong, Dave Skrien, Jim Spavital ( As a player. He was an hellacious fullback), Leo Lewis, Ernie Pitts, Cornell Piper, Ken Ploen, Bud Grant & others. I truly believe that I got my love of the Bombers from him. He was such a cool guy to talk to. Told me about players & games that I had never heard of as a 14 year old. He was the most influential person I met when it came to becoming a Blue Bomber fan. I'd see him cutting his grass or doing yard work. I'd wander over & pretty soon we'd be talking football for an hour or more. RIP Mr. McGibney. Thanks for teaching the Bomber legacy to a very impressionable young fan who was all ears. RIP Fritz Hansen. A well deserved honour.
  17. Just so you know the comments I made were for The Source & not you.
  18. Holy ****. I sometimes think I'm too negative here calling for the firing of MOS & his staff if things don't improve which truly bothers me but you take the cake. I at least, hope the Bombers turn it around while you hope they lose every game by 50 points. It's crazy some of the things you say while pretending to be a Bomber fan, my God. All you do is talk trash.
  19. Once again, America will watch & they'll all know about Winnipeg.
  20. Taking first team reps at today's Als practice. Gotta hand it to the Als, Pipkin didn't have a great game & now they bench him? Kid isn't even given the chance to redeem himself. If he struggles, put in Manziel. If not, keep playing him. They're destroying Pipkin's confidence because Kavis was stupid enough to mortgage the future for the next 2 seasons. If it was me, I wouldn't bench him. At least not yet. I think he deserved one more game to get back on track.
  21. Every OC has looked good vs the Als.
