CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?
SpeedFlex27 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I thin I think what sets this apart is they've taken shoulder pads out of practicing. So, not even any "light" contact. -
CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?

So...... basically what you're saying is anyone who doesn't agree with this is old & crotchety? Nice argument since you jumped in here anyway to tell us you won't put on your old mans pants. No one is upset. It's a discussion. It's groundbreaking so therefore we all have opinions about this. I don't want to see the quality of games go down or players get injured because they may not be physically ready to play. But upset? Nah. -
I'd never give money to a developer for a condo down payment without it first either is under construction or completed. Some people have been waiting years for this & still no actual word on when construction starts. If 50% isn't good enough then this project is doomed. Cue the lawsuits.

CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?
SpeedFlex27 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I know they're trying to cut down on concussions but there'll be a lot of unintended consequences that will happen. Football is about hitting. Delivering & taking a hit. Being able to throw a block. You can only do so much without pads. There may be more concussions & upper body injuries as players will only be doing this during games. I don't like it. -

There will be more injuries, I believe. How can you go from no pads to full violent contact??? I think it's wrong. -
I'm not a fan of sci fi comedies but prepared to give it a chance although lining The Orville up against SNF isn't the best idea. Space also slotted Discovery on Sunday night so we'll see how it goes.

Agreed on that.

Well, for whatever reason I can't make edits on my posts so my mentioning the Enterprise was a mistake.

It's a comedy. It's not going to win an Emmy for best writing or acting. It's a spoof. You seem really upset that it seemed to have crossed some kind of Star Trek canon. The problem with Star Trek starting with Abrams is that everything has changed. Alternate Universe, Vulcan destroyed. Kirk becomes Captain of the Enterprise on what looked like a lark. Now, we have the new ST series where the actors are forbidden to say the word God on screen. Yes, the Captain said the phrase, "Oh God" as an adlib during filming & one of the writers told him under no circumstance is any reference to religion to be allowed. The Klingons look totally different. The series from everything I've read, looks like it's going to implode with all the actors in the series telling their agents to find them a new gig after December as to a man & woman they expect it to be cancelled.. Star Trek fans seem upset with everything they've seen & read about the new series. The Orville is a spoof, But it does contain a lot of Trek references in it. It's tongue in cheek, nothing more.

Watched The Orville this evening. Never liked sci fi comedies but this series may be more Trek than Star Trek: Discovery. I have a feeling ST:D is going to be one big cluster.... .

And our Moose can beat up their Moose.

People keep saying take away this play or take away that play. Or if it wasn't for a bust here or a bust there... The problem is the big plays & busts happen to this defense every game multiple times. That's the problem. It's not isolated. It's every game. Our defense isn't good enough. We'll need our offense to score a lot of points to win, especially in the playoffs.

Don't know if you're aware but Rod Hill had 8 blocked punts as well as 47 interceptions as a Blue Bomber in just the 5 season he played from 1988-92. Including his 5 interception game in 1990. Browne was outstanding & the two together as our corners were the best all time but Hill was in a strata all his own.

First time it was great. It may have been a ripoff but how many wrestling fans back then watched Japanese wrestling? So, it was an unknown thing & was quite shocking at the time. The last time in 1999 was terrible. Kind of ironic Hogan left the WCW in 2000 when Jeff Jarrett did what Nash did mocking Hogan by dropping to the canvas & daring he pin him to win the WCW Championship which Hogan did over his objections. Then indignantly walking out of the building throwing the championship belt away never to return. I just saw that as total hypocrisy. Hogan became pretty irrelevant after that.

I'm no poet The Bombers won That's all the people need to know.

Bridge is like Justin Goltz. Showboating but hasn't done a thing in the CFL. So, he scored a TD. Big deal. These players have pea size brains to go along with huge egos.

Rod Hill was the best. Shut down corner. He had 5 picks vs Hamilton in 1990.
