The jump from college to pro is huge. Especially a qb who has never played Canadian football with all its nuances like motion wider field, bigger end zones, 12 men & 3 downs instead of 4. Most college qbs have never seen the Canadian game. Even veteran NFL qbs who come up here struggle. It's a huge learning curve. Not just 10%. They can't just step on the field & be successful. I've only seen a few have success instantly. Ricky Ray, Joe Theismann & Doug Flutie come tomind. Some adjust & do well but most don't. Streveler did well at first but as he played more games his performance dropped just because he not only had to learn the playbook but adapt to all the differences between the American & Canadian game. I could see the pressure was getting to him & he was getting bogged down. The Bombers are right to bring him along slowly but O'Shea was wrong to take him out last night.

They were talking about the fans booing Nichols. They weren't booing Nichols. They were booing O'Shea for pulling Streveler & putting Nichols back in. As the fans weren't booing Nichols then how can they talk about the fans booing Nichols?

Why is SEan Lemon coming back to play the Argos a big deal? He's played for 4 CFL teams. He was a mercenary going for the big bucks as much a teams didn't want him.

They didn't **** on the fans per se but they never questioned why O'Shea put him back in. Never came up in the discussion.

The TSN panel got the booing of Nichols all wrong. They never once questioned why he was brought back in. Instead it's either Winnipeg fans are tough but it's a great place to play or the fans are mean & it's their right to boo. No questioning Mike O'Shea for even putting Nichols back in. For so called football analysts, I expected a lot more from them than that. Question Mike O'Shea for being stupid as well & creating this commotion. Not just talk about the fans.

Nichols has to play better & I hope he turns it around.

All I know is that Clements wife & he were lawyers. She was his agent & she represented him in talks with the Bombers. I know they went to Chicago but I guess he decided he didn't want to play anymore. I have no idea how & why he gave up his law practice to coach. Would be interesting to find out.

Willard Reaves left the same way. Murphy wanted to cut the salaries of Reaves & Clements. Hufnagel left as well. Nothing was ever said. These guys other than Reaves signing with the Redskins for 88 was all left in silence during the off season. The Bombers have never had any special day for Clements. This team has to make a huge jump to get with Calgary & even Edmonton. I just can't see it happening.
