I just saw a tweet from TSN where Bob McKenzie is now the new TSN Tennis Insider. Like, what?

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

All Briles was trying to do was cover up the rapes so it couldn't be traced back to him. He put himself ahead of the right thing to do. It was selfish & wrong. Thing is, had he come clean & cooperated by doing the right thing which was to make sure every player that was involved from Baylor was arrested, he'd have been lauded for his efforts. Instead, he panicked & chose to cover everything up no matter what. He deserves no second chance. -
That was my age group. Those guys were in their 20's-late 30's back then.

How did I miss this? Rocky The Flying Squirrell & Natasha ("Dahhh-link") were two of my favourite cartoon characters as a kid. RIP June Foray.
-
Derek Dennis at Tackle? Has this Landry guy even been watching the CFL this season? he's been brutal.
-
I think that's probably why, Noeller.

Boogeyman was after but the WWE was still into cartoon characters when the WCW started it's push by signing Luger, Hall & Nash. They were forced to change how they did things as the WWE was getting killed in the ratings especially after the Outsiders & NwO came along. Boogeyman was a just holdover from that other era. Yeah, he was over but I question as to how much when he was a mid carder.

Another forgettable character. No wonder WCW ratings soared with cartoonish WWE characters like that. The only good thing WCW really did for wrestling was get Vince McMahon unstuck & out of the 70's & 80's. Looking back on some old wrestling shows while some of the wrestlers were great, a lot of them & the characters they portrayed were just so bad.

What was the name of the wrestler who ate worms?

Agree on both? Papa Shango? That was back in the days of Doink The Clown & Hillbilly Jim.

Ti Cats wanting to hire Briles & thinking it was somehow okay certainly wasn't consistent with the message of the DIS campaign which is why I don't like it in the first place. They felt it was ethically & morally correct to hire him while the majority were horrified. Sadly, they don't get it as they still do today. Judging by the interview Scott Mitchell did with the Hamilton media this morning he was still talking about how Briles deserved a second chance & was disappointed others didn't see it that way while accepting blame & taking the hit for the Ti Cats & CFL. He doesn't feel any different than he did yesterday. Just that he got his marching orders from Bob Young to go out there & eat crow. June Jones said in his media interview this morning on the practice field that he didn't like the decision as Briles was a friend & he wanted to help him out. He didn't sound sorry, just disappointed that the fans & media reacted the way they did. So to me, the attitude of the Ti Cats organization still doesn't reflect what the DIS marketing campaign was about. They're pissed & angry about it. When a company or organization like the CFL does a campaign like this it really can backfire just by the actions of 1 individual. Or as we saw, one team. -
That promo was so Rock/Cena 2012. Except Cena's the part timer now.

Yeah, the CFL stated the DIS campaign as a cute way to make $$$ off of what happened in Charlottesville. At least that is what I believe. They even ran a story on CNN about it 2 weeks ago & Ambrosie was interviewed admitting the CFL decided to move up the campaign from the fall because of what happened in the US. Our Commish was quite smug about the campaign obviously proud it garnered attention in the US & around the world on CNN. I don't know how many of you saw that particular interview but he sounded to me like he was lecturing people in the US over what happened. I thought they were on a slippery slope with that campaign as they could be set up for a fall over something unforeseen like the Briles hiring. I think the CFL shouldn't try to be the moral compass of sport in this country. They should do what they do best. Just play football. No other sports league has a marketing campaign like this. It nearly blew up on the CFL. -

just going to say that as Scott Mitchell said the CFL okayed the hire. That is disturbing. -

They're destroying their fanbase. It'll be back to crowds of 15,000 before long. -

If this wasn't so sad you'd think it was a joke. So, the CFL is okay with rape & sexual assault. Burn those DIS T Shirts as they don't practice what they preach. Glad I didn't buy one. -
Sexy Star needs to get the **** kicked out of her to teach her a lesson. Failing that, be banned from all promotions.

Would have liked to have seen that play from beginning to end at game speed -
Mann was a fighter. If he had any kind of real offensive skills he had chances to show it but never did.

The Most Important Game: Wpg @ Regina
SpeedFlex27 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I agree. They won 2 games handily,so what??? The Riders played the Lions where Jennings stunk & Lulay had a rib injury so Wally didn't want to put him in when the game was out of hand because he didn't want to risk losing him to further injury as the game was out of hand. Then Friday night, injuries have caught up to the Eskimos with ten new starters. we took advantage of the Eskimos so why shouldn't the Riders? Let's not get carried away here with worry or build the Riders up bigger than they should be. -

I don't. Just speculating. The same thing could be said for every position. It seems everyone was critical of Roc Carmicheal. Do people think he was always responsible for every pass that was caught behind him & he was in chase mode? Where was Lofler on some of those plays as support? What about blown assignments by others that might have affected Roc? If he thinks he's getting help when he's supposed to but isn't then criticizing him the way fans did here was wrong also as every long pass completed isn't his fault then either. Do any of his critics know Roc's exact assignments or reads here, either?
