Pfft. Braley. The guy has grinded 3 franchises into the ground. Hamilton, Toronto & BC. -

The pic I saw of him he kinda looks like Vincent Kennedy McMahon. I'd love it if he said to Glenn Johnson, "YOU"RE FIIRRRRRED!!!!!" -

I like the fact he is a former player who understands the game & is a successful businessman running companies from the boardrooms. Unlike the guy he takes over from. Orridge always looked like guy who would rather be at a wine & cheese party than a football game. -
So, they let Carmella actually win the MITB ladder match. Too funny.
-
Well then, there's always Pavs.

Guys are much bigger now & they train year round. I mentioned the Ken Ploen era but today those guys would be totally outsized & outmatched by a hundred pounds. But back in the day the Bomber offensive line under Bud Grant may have been the best of its particular era in comparison to the other 8 teams back then. However, I don't think Hamilton was too far behins. There was a reason the Bombers played in multiple Grey Cups with the Ti Cats from 57-65. Both had great offensive & defensive lines. -

Chuck was a great blocker but he also was a body builder. The guy was jacked. Problem was he never incorporated a lot of stretching into his off season & in season workouts. He had a terrible time with his hamstrings pulling them on multiple occasions. The Bombers used to work out at a place on Provencher Blvd called the Fit Stop back in the late 70's. The Infamous Brian Jack had a little store on the second floor where he sold health drinks & supplements. Brian Herosian managed the place. I lifted with Brian a few times back then. Players like Randy Hallsall, Liebrock & Gary Roslowich worked out there. Liebrocks legs were like tree trunks. Hallsall was nuts. He was damned scary. Roid rage. -

Oh yeah, I could talk a lot about past offensive lines with you but I think I'd bore a lot of the younger posters here. We had some great players pass thru here wearing Blue & Gold who were outstanding. -

Played outdoors in a cold weather city. Have to like that. -

Note to WBBFan, I wouldn't say this is the best O Line ever. There were some great ones during the Ken Ploen, Don Jonas, Dieter Brock & Tom Clements eras. Let's just say it's one of the best we've had in a long, long time. -

I look at our offensive line & the strength that it is. Then I look at Calgary which is held together by band aids, knee, back & shoulder braces. From what I see, that entire unit is going to have a tough year. -
Well, it helps the goalie to know that if he whiffs on one or two bad ones, his team will bail him out. That's what the Oilers did for Fuhr.
-
Fuhr admitted he did. I have a hard time thinking Gretzky was a part of it. No one knows & no one will tell, anyways.
-
Nah, their firepower won them games. Not Fuhr letting in a winning goal.
-
Everyone wants to play Canadians on the line. It doesn't work. Historically, a minimum of 2 & usually 3 Americans have played on CFL lines until the past 25-30 years when the Esks started an all Canadian line & other teams followed. Now, it seems to be going back to playing Canadians at positions other than offensive lines.
-
Hajrallahu, he always seems to be involved in cluster..... on special teams.
-
The excuse will now be It's TOO HOT!
-
I don't ever recall a Nissan ad on TSN during CFL games that wasn't annoyingly bad with the music. To make it worse, they play them a dozen times mostly back to back.
-
I think it always did. Except for the Oilers in the 80's who just outgunned everyone with their offensive firepower. Fuhr could let in five goals, they'd score 6.
-
CFL teams have really taken out the walk up crowds. Single game day prices are just insanely high. Used to be teams would get 6-8,000 walkups if not more depending on the game but no more. Prices have to come down. You'd think teams would clue in but they don't.
-
You guys are lucky that way for sure. You're in the market so if you ever want to retire out there you can. Or sell & make a fortune.
-
Plus we have Rod Freaking Black doing the game & those Nissan commercials to look forward to. Ugh.
-
Not jealous of Jennings. The Lions can have him. Good luck to Kenny Stafford trying to crack the lineup in Edmonton.
