  1. Again a coach sees potential & then allows it to develop. If he doesn't then a player is cut.
  2. As rookies, yeah. Both had strong arms. Brock was totally clueless about the CFL (probably like Apodaca was) when he first came up here. Knew nothing about it. Both struggled like every other rookie qb in their first training camp with the different rules, wider field, bigger end zones, 3 downs compared to 4, one more man on O & D as well as motion. But that's the point. Had Riley not seen something in Brock, even with his struggles we'd not be talking about a HOF career. Sometimes even just a series in an exhibition game can catch a coaches eye & in turn make a career. I guess O'Shea didn't see any potential in Apodaca. That was my point.
  3. When Dieter Brock came to the Bombers in 1974, that's all he had was a rocket arm. Bud Riley saw something in him he liked. I guess Mike O'Shea didn't see the same potential in Apodaca.
  4. I bought a 32 inch Sharp tv from Best Buy 2 years ago. So far no problems. Nice picture.
  5. Having an offensive line that blocks helped a lot as well.
  6. Instead of sparring, we should have a discussion either here or on PM's about our memories. We look to be from the same generation. Don Jonas lived 2 blocks from my house. He used to go to the Riverview C.C to do some throwing. Used to see him driving around the neighbourhood with his family in his huge Chrysler station wagon with orange & green Florida plates.
  7. So, WBBFanWest, since you liked that I deleted a post, why don't you join in here & tell us your Blue Bomber memories? I'd be interested to know how long you've been a fan & the things you remember. Especially when you think somehow I'm a Stamps fan but not a Bomber fan.

  9. Yes, just an opinion. For discussion purposes only.
  10. At the same time, wrestling fans in North America didn't care. Yet fans in Japan knew who the WWE wrestlers were. Like I said, if it wasn't for the hard core wrestling fans here, I'd not know who Kenny Omega & other ROH & NJPW were.
  11. Different eras.
  12. I still say that in pro wrestling until you make it big in WWE you're not really big. There are millions of fans worldwide who don't watch the other promotions.
  13. Football fans in the US don't know our CFL stars. Neither do fans in Europe & China like they know NFL stars. The NFL is the Big Time. The CFL isn't. Lots of wrestling fans don't watch TNA, ROH & New Japan. They only watch the WWE. I know there are rumours that Omega will be coming over to WWE at some time in the future. If he does, he'll probably be a huge star. At his age, it should be sooner rather than later. If it wasn't for some of you guys here, I'd never have heard of Kenny Omega.
  14. Okada/Omega can't be the modern equivalent as not enough people have seen them wrestle. Whereas millions saw Flair & Steamboat in the 80's & 90's have some huge matches. I know some of you guys may hate to read this but the WWE is the true Big Time & until they go there just like AJ Styles did, they won't get their due. Styles is a huge star now thanks to the WWE. Much, much bigger than he was in TNA & New Japan.
  15. This better not be another Voyager... All the wait for really a bad series.
  16. Well, Apodaca looks to be the odd man out.
  17. What a bush league report. The talking heads on Sports Desk or whatever they call it seem to have little or no respect & knowledge of the league. They're as bad as Rogers. Why a network that invests money into the CFL has such joke coverage is beyond me.
  18. Any new Star Trek news?
  19. My condolences on your loss. Really sad to hear, tracker.
  20. That late night revue is something I remember.
  21. TSN 1290 might be the only bidder.
  22. Perhaps Bob Irving would be retired as well if the games were broadcast on 1290.
  23. Vic Rapp was the OC for the Eskimos when Jauch was HC there along with Lemmerman & Wilkinson. I'm sure Jauch was still pretty much hands on as a HC working with them both.
  24. I know the dumb quarterback monicker really irked Brock. Brock had somewhat of an adversarial relationship with the media in the years after that. Even after he totally crushed their criticisms of his cognitive ability in the years after. I think it was unfair & I'd like to know what media member started it. Would have been interesting to compare the type of offenses both played in college as to which one was harder to grasp & more complex. That would put one ahead of the other if say, Knight had a more difficult playbook to learn before coming to the Bombers than Brock did. As well as competition. Which college of the 2 played better teams. Brock played at Jacksonville State while Knight played at the University of Richmond.
