  1. Go talk to Mike about it. He said it, I didn't.
  2. Andrew Harris is a skilled player & he's on special teams. Right from day 1 of his career.
  3. Mike made the comment that Hardy's 30 months older than Richards & that it is relevant. I was responding to his comments. Did you not read the previous posts here? What's the obsession with specials? How many Canadians in total are on a CFL roster? How many Canadians are mandated to start? Just exactly what do these Canadian players do to get on the field? You tell me.
  4. Why personally label someone because you don't agree with them? I'm not disgruntled. If you read previous posts on this thread. I said Richards needs to step up & show improvement. I also said I hope he does show improvement. I do feel that this will be the training camp where he has to show he can play at the CFL level. I truly feel strongly that every player on a CFL roster has to contribute because of roster limitations & size. That's my opinion & I'm sticking with it. The coaching staff decides if & when it's over for Richards. Not us. We can argue all day long. Ultimately Mike O'Shea & Paul LaPolice make the final say on Richards future. This has been a good discussion but I've said about all I can say here on this topic. I'm finished posting about it.
  5. He's a veteran as he received a paycheque all the while. He just hasn't played much. This is his second year in LaPo's system so he knows it. Rookies get cut at training camp all the time if they can't practice or play in exhibition games. If a rook injures things like a knee, shoulder or pulls a hamstring & missed significant practice time it's curtains. The Grim Reaper comes around, says coach wants to see you & bring your playbook. All kinds of sad & hard luck stories at CFL & NFL training camps.
  6. Hardy has been able to contribute right from the start so you can't compare Richards to him in any way. Hardy is in the receiver rotation as a slot & he also plays special teams. Hardy also played 2 or 3 years of junior ball with the Calgary Colts before going to the Dinos which is why he's older.
  7. What's the difference? Injuries significantly affected those guys too yet fans were calling for their heads so I don't understand the difference.
  8. I'm willing as well if there is an actual progression in his career this season. Not if he doesn't get on the field.
  9. Yet it is done everyday. Veterans get released because of injury issues. Players at TC get released because they were injured & couldn't perform. All I'm saying is that if he doesn't show enough this training camp then it is time to move on. It's not unreasonable to say he needs to contribute. Put him on specials & let him earn his way to a starting or backup receiver position like everyone else.
  10. Well, injuries are part of the game. Look at all the criticism Buck Pierce & Patrick Neufeld took from fans when they couldn't stay healthy.
  11. A third year vet has to contribute any way he can. This was the same argument we had with Jade Etienne. The Bombers finally let him go even though some here were defending him until the day he was cut.
  12. Explain how he has looked good enough when he has caught 1 pass in 2 seasons? By actual ability or attrition at that position? If he wins by default then that's sad.
  13. he has to be on special teams. If he was like Jade Etienne in physique then you could understand why they never put him out there. He's a big body who now is in his 3rd season & therefore has to contribute any way that he can.
  14. He hasn't shown that yet so why keep him on the premise he needs more time to develop? This really should be it for the guy. Show something at camp or be gone. You would expect that from any other player so why give him a pass?
  15. With his physique, he should be playing specials. At the very least making a contribution that way. If he can't & he doesn't show enough at camp then sayonara.
  16. If he can't play specials then he's taking up a roster spot. He can't contribute if he doesn't even get on the field. What you're asking is for the Bombers to hold onto him to prove they didn't make a mistake. I don't agree with it if they do as he doesn't deserve to be here. Other Canadian players are fighting for a roster spot & sacrificing themselves on specials to prove they belong. He isn't.
  17. We see it but don't have to like it. It's not a weak argument. Not many markets would put up with it but we're expected to just because. Patience is running out.
  18. Neither are fans who think it's fine to wait a decade for a consistently winning team. Scheifle wasn't made the #1 centre on the Jets in his rookie year, either.
  19. The guys that don't start but do stick around play special teams. I could be wrong but it's my understanding that Richards doesn't. Am I incorrect there, Mike? Does Richardson play specials?
  20. Being cut is punishment for not producing. I'm saying it's time for Richardson to produce. If he can't show he belongs then he should go. Being on the Bombers should be based solely on merit & not nationality. Or trying to prove that the Bombers didn't make a mistake drafting Richards. The team isn't punishing itself if it decides it's time to move on. They simply have moved on. I just want to add that based on Walter's performance drafting players, I don't think many fans are going to be critical if Richards is cut if he fails to live up to the coaches expectations this year. By then, he'll have had 3 training camps & 2 full seasons (albeit injured mostly) to prove he is a CFL player. Hopefully he can show something this years to be kept around. It's hard to be critical of a GM who has drafted guys like Matthias Goosen, Sukh Chungh & Taylor Loffler. Our Nationals situation is light years ahead of where it was in 2013.
  21. I hope he doesn't have another year. This should be it for him. he has to perform in training camp & the exhibition season. For once, Richardson actually needs to prove he belongs. No more free passes. I know he's been injured but other players don't get that luxury. Third season now. Time to show what he's got.
  22. Sure, some guys play a long time but they're journeymen. Bouncing from one team to another. They make a very good living as they have the skill set to help a team as a fourth line centre, winger or defenseman. Look at Dennis Wideman in Calgary. He's made a career of being a borderline NHL defenseman. So, some guys do make it a career but most don't. Anyway, you & I disagree & that's fine. You look at things differently than I do. I have no problem with that. Probably time to move on before our conversation becomes a merry go round.
  23. You do a lot of memes. Some good, some not so good. But this one you posted hit it out of the park.
  24. Don't like what I saw of the Klingons briefly. Did they have another some other calamity that changed them prior to TOS?? (Sarcasm). Don't understand why Hollywood is so eager to change what has worked in the past. Add to the history & the characters as well as the different alien races. Or in this case, delve into the past to explain the present. Don't change them. Yet, they did.
  25. As GM, Chevey sets the budget in the areas he wants to spend & I imagine Chipman signs off on it. So, that would be Chevy. Players get paid to win. They don't win then they don't last. Contracts do reflect that.
