  1. Yes, he retired a few weeks ago citing past injuries as the reason for doing so.
  2. There's a Don Percy KY58 air check on YouTube from July 14, 1977. It runs for about 8 minutes. The growl is in there.
  3. Anyone here remember the runaway hot air balloon prank he pulled?? He claimed he was up in the air doing his show from a hot air balloon, went up too high & got caught up in the jet stream in a runaway balloon. He was pleading for help between songs & commercials. One of the damnedest things I ever heard. Hios listeners were freaking out. Turned out it was a total hoax. However, Percy made more than a few people angry but it was a great joke.
  4. I thought Don Percy passed away a few years ago. I may be wrong about that.
  5. I've told Colin he should close Ourbombers permanently but he won't do it. Thus you have one or 2 guys talking to themselves like they're zombies. Or some guy claiming to have insider news when he doesn't & being obnoxious at the same time. No one wants to get involved in garbage threads like that. I think he somehow holds up hope that an influx of former members will come back & OB will return to its former status but it won't happen.
  6. I have no problem with the all encompassing threads. However, I also like separate threads if the news is big or major rather than burying it in a thread with 300 or more posts. That's my take.
  7. Again, between the story headline & what I interpreted in that story, that's how I read it.
  8. You missed an important step. They decomposed first.
  9. My stand is I won't argue anymore. I'll state my case with anyone who actually wants to talk but if someone says (for example) that I'm against anything new as was said to me on this thread about the new soccer league, then I'll just say thanks, entitled to their opinion & move on.
  10. Three or 4 posts constitutes frustration? C'mon Mike. The trouble is, people don't want to discuss. They want to fight. Maybe I don't want to get into an argument with people getting all bent out of shape over what I said. You used to criticize me all the time for arguing too much & for being too abrasive. So, now I don't argue. Just like I won't now with you here. I no longer live here posting 30 times a day & eagerly checking all the responses so I can fire back with piss & vinegar. I was getting too stressed out so I no longer do it. I enjoy visiting here, maybe post 4 or 5 messages a day & leave. So, my answer to you is if f that's how you feel about my posting style then you're entitled to your opinion.
  11. I think if the Stamps, Esks, Riders & Ottawa do become involved with the Ti Cats & Bombers, then I'd say it will be.
  12. The headline says... CFL Teams To Play Big Role...That's how I read it & the story as well. If I'm wrong then that's cool. However, to me the CFL wants to be involved as owners. That's how I read it.
  13. Scroll up a few posts so I don't have to say it all over again... Again, my OPINION. You certainly like to tell us yours.
  14. Surprised you missed this... http://3downnation.com/2017/05/08/cfl-teams-play-big-role-new-canadian-soccer-league/
  15. I'm not denying anything. It's the CFL's decision & they can do what they want. I just think it's a mistake. We are having a discussion here.
  16. Yep, this is a league initiative. I may be in the minority here but the CFL has plenty of issues they need to address first. Starting up a soccer league & diverting league funds into this is a mistake.
  17. CFL teams aren't money making machines. As I said, not every team makes hundreds of thousands in profits. Having to extend themselves operating a brand new league with such a thin bottom line doesn't make business sense to me. How many fans do they expect to show up? Twenty thousand? They'll be lucky to attract 5,000 a game into their stadiums. Like I said, the CFL really needs to concentrate on growing the CFL game in their own cities. Winnipeg averaged 22-23,000 in a 33,000 seat stadium, Montreal's attendance is dropping. Toronto is a frigging wasteland. BC Place has the second tier of seats curtained off. On tv, the Lions games look like they're playing in a closet, The atmosphere at BC Place looks bloody awful. Calgary is stagnating & after blowing the Grey Cup the way they did will be lucky to average 24,000 in a 35,000 seat stadium. Edmonton plays now in a half empty CWS. So sure, ignoring attendance issues with 7 of the 9 CFL but teams spending money growing the game of soccer while game day attendance drops make absolutely no sense to me.
  18. It was the same 30 years ago. Lots of people played soccer, especially the little kids who in the spring are on the fields everywhere. I just remember the Canadian Soccer League being a total failure even though thousands played the game. My question is why does the CFL want to take on the risk & become involved in a new Canadian soccer league? Some teams can barely pay their bills now. I don't understand the logic for the CFL to become involved here. The CFL needs (based on all the empty seats in every stadium) to grow the game of Canadian football, not soccer.
  19. Number 1 pick.
  20. This is true.
  21. Anyone else lose the TSN feed?
  22. Biggest difference between them is the level of play. Faith Ekakitie has played at a much higher level the past 4 years than Simonise has. Better coaching & much, much tougher competition. Simonise played against 18 & 19 year old corners in CIS & junior. Faith has played against NFL ready offensive linemen.
