So, damned if we do signing Durant as now he's too expensive. Damned if we don't as we have no capable backups as we cheaped out at the 2 backup positions. So, TBurg, what would you have done? No one is asking Durant to go out there & win a GC all on his own. All he's being asked todo is to be competent & give the Bombers the best chance to win if Nichols goes down. Good CFL backups are making $180-225,000 which is market value. I expect that is what DD is being paid. Getting rid of LeFevour's & Davis's contracts will offset this signing. LeFevour didn't play for free & he was vastly overpaid for what he could do on the field as a qb.

Every team has screwed Glenn according to him so we just need to stand in line.

Allen has this reputation because he's won 4 Grey Cups with 4 different teams while Glenn hasn't won any playing for 9 teams.

The Darian Durant that isn't the guy who left the Riders is still better than the 2 players we had hit the field last season behind Nichols so I'm good with it.

He's not expected to carry the team so this is a good scenario for Durant & the Bombers.

Backups only get so many oppportunities & have to shine or at least show signs of progress when they do see the field. Davis never showed that. Probably time to move on.

Yeah, that's why he was sought out as a private qb coach. Why Tim Tebow worked with him for a couple of off seasons as well as other high draft prospects at qb. Cutler is a total headcase. A selfish Me First player who was never going to be successful no matter who he played for. He was successful with Calvillo & Ray, so what? How many coaches before & after Trestman in Montreal & Toronto were failures with those 2 qbs? Sometimes you just talk ****.

Glenn could never elevate the players around him but Allen could. Glenn can't win the last game of the season. I've seen him turn coward & turtle more times than any other qb I've seen play. Where Matt Dunigan would spit in the collective face of any defense he faced when he was getting beat up, Glenn just shuts off. I never saw Allen do that. He played & he won. Glennis always the great alternative but never the undisputed starter. Allen was.

Your argument is very weak. matter of fact it's shot full of holes.Damon Allen was not just an average qb on par with Kevin Glenn. He was head & shoulders above Glenn. Even Glenn would agree with that assessment.

I think Trestman would have found a way to make it work without Calvillo. He's one of the best qb coaches around so maybe he could have developed one of those guys like Crompton for example, to be a competent CFL qb. They had nothing coaching wise after he left.

What season could Glenn have been an MOP? When the chips were done Allen won. With Glenn when the chips were down he picked them up. He has never won the last game he played no matter what team he played for. He's never been an MOP calibre qb. Especially compared to Damon Allen.
