I'd be very happy if we drafted Vandevoort #1 as we really need to upgrade our Canadian receivers. If we knew Gray was CFL bound then he'd be a great selection as well. However, we really need to get better at receiver first. I think that should be Walters first priority.

I guess my point is for a Canadian to get a legit NFL chance as a draft prospect or free agent then all of his individuals have to jump off the sheet of paper it's written on. There are more & more freaks of nature coming out of the NCAA every year as offensive linemen.

His forty time might be problematic as his bench. However, who knows what the scouts are thinking? May not be an issue.

Simonise is immature trying to take short cuts & thinks he can crack an NFL team. Maybe he can & maybe he can't. I do know this, he flunked out of the University of Calgary. To be able to play in the CFL & NFL you have to be smart as well as disciplined putting in the hours studying after 2 a days at training camp learning an offensive system. The coaches will demand it. If he can't handle simple academics at university then how is he going to handle a CFL or NFL playbook? Vandervoort is the safer choice, I believe.

I think TSN could do a lot more. I agree it's a shame.

Thing is, TSN lost the NHL. Without the CFL they'd be televising chess matches & lawn bowling. I would hope the CFL wises up for their next tv contract & allows other broadcasters to bid. I'd like to see the games split over a couple of networks.

TSN doesn't help when it televises the first round then goes online for the remainder of the draft. The majority of fans can't get the feed like last year. All the broadcaster can spare is an hour??? Or why don't they televise the CFL Awards the week of the Grey Cup. TSN is Mickey Mouse when it comes to a lot of the league's coverage. At least I feel this way. The CFL brings in a lot of revenue & TSN ignores it other than the games.

This isn't even a discussion that's on the table. Fret all you want. Nothing will change as there is absolutely no interest in taking away the 7 starting Canadian spots. There will always be Canadians starting. If kids get a chance to go to the NFL that is a good thing. It means the level of play of Canadians are improving which makes the game better. This is a non starter.

That's why the CFL has to change its attitude about a lot of things. They wonder why stadiums are half empty. Fans need to be engaged & not just be expected to buy tickets. The CFL & TSN have to present much better draft coverage instead of that poor excuse for a show that they give us now.

No one knows the true tale in Hamilton as to why he left. It'd sure be interesting to know exactly what happened between Condell & Austin.

I guess Canadians are such a negative for you that you should just watch the NFL. What you are proposing will never happen. So quit worrying about it. The CFL has more other pressing issues than worrying about how many Canadians start.

Saw that Chuck Berry had died. Such a R & R pioneer. Influenced many great musical artists after him. Thing is though, while it's sad, he was 90. That' s a helluva long life that most of us will never reach in age chronologically. So for me , it's really hard to feel really a lot of sadness about it. At 90, this should be more about a celebration of Berry's life & not that he's left us. Now someone like Bill Paxton at 61, still was vibrant. Still had his career going for him who died unexpectedly. That was tragic as he was much too young.
