All these hits to the head are "clean". But everytime it happens in hockey just like in football there are parents who will see that & refuse to let their kids play those sports so the question becomes, do you let those hits continue?
-
They're probably getting close with Matt Nichols. That's my feeling. Kyle Walters admitted they don't have the same cap space they had going into this off season compared to last. That not all players on the 2016 roster would be back. I think this is one of those moves. To create cap space they have to release or not sign veterans in order to sign the players they want already on the roster as well as free agents in a bit over a month's time.

Whittaker's character while a minor one was still important. It's hard to keep track of all the names. Especially in this movie.
-
I referenced it because I was watching that game when I posted that message. The Raiders entire season was flushed down the toilet because the backup qb Connor Cook didn't have the experience. Don't want to see the potential for that to happen here.
-
Kevin Glenn is a FA but if they had signed him to a new contract then that would have been expensive or at least more expensive than re-signing Davis so his release does play into making room to sign Nichols under the cap for 2017. They wouldn't have been able to give all 3 qbs raises with new contract so I think it's a move to create space for the 2017 season in order to sign Matt Nichols.
-
Glenn will be signed by another team so I think it's to clear move to create cap space for Nichols. I'm watching the Raiders play the Texans this afternoon with rookie qb Connor Cook starting for an injured David Carr against the Oilers. With Carr, the Raiders would probably beat the Texans, without him all bets are off & the Raiders season may go down the drain. Teams that don't have proven veteran qbs are rolling the dice.
-
They do have a budget for the qb position under the cap for 2017 so I respectfully disagree. The money they saved on Glenn will go to Nichols. Decisions have to be made with remaining Bomber free agents as in who stays & who doesn't.
-
Again, my response is we'll see. Releasing Glenn probably means they have to because they need the cap space to sign Nichols. Davis still has to prove at training camp he's the legit number 2 & it looks like he'll get that opportunity with more reps. The rest is up to him.

LOL! Time will tell.

You're right he's as arrogant a player as I've ever seen. He should retire on a high but just won't. It'll be his problem if he goes out on a low which I think will happen.

Montreal must be a much different market than any other CFL city. Need a French speaking coach or a popular former player who may not turn out to be a great assistant as considerations for future Als head coaching positions. It seems that decisions are made with politics & popularity in mind with the Als instead of hiring the best candidate. Not a good thing.

There's always been rumours JFK's assassination was a hit by the Mafia. That senate investigation Robert Kennedy did on the mob with the backing of his his brother Jack when he was president apparently really pissed off the Mafia as they again supposedly helped get JFK first elected as a Senator in the early 50's.

Ray said he wants to be a qb coach so he'll be taking his first step like Dave Dickenson & Kent Austin did on their way to CFL head coaching jobs. Calvillo in Montreal? With Jacques Chapdelaine being the OC, I wonder if Anthony Calvillo will move on when his contract expires whenever that is. I'd assume at the end of next season?

Glad they're back. -
Movin' on as requested.
-
Well, not hard for me to stop so I'll make you happy.
-
Davis signing aside, how many qbs ever developed holding onto a clipboard & not playing?
-
I don't know if I could be a practice player for 5 years in the NFL even if I was paid more than being a starter in the CFL.
-
I'm just saying you're criticizing Ducky for something you do here all the time. You keep saying that it's always Maurice's fault.
-
Trestman did that in Montreal as I said. How has that worked out for the Als? I do know the concept of using a starting qb but the way O'Shea plays anyone who starts it really doesn't matter as they won't ever play enough to develop. That's his philosophy & it may cost us someday. As long as the starter is healthy then there are no worries. Big worries once there is a major injury at qb.
-
Mike O'Shea plays his starter like Trestman did in Montreal. The backups never play & therefore never develop. As I may have said, don't shoot the messenger. Blame O'Shea for that.
-
You blame one guy as well. Hint: I won't say his name as we all know who it is.
-
Well, he was also extended an extra year. Instead of a hundred thousand dollar bonus due this spring, he agreed to $70,000 because of the extra year added.
-
Down to $300,000 this season & jumping to $415,000 next season. Posters here still think Nichols will sign for under $400,000? Think again.
-
The Bombers invested starters money & 2 1/2 seasons into Willy as a qb. Then he went from the unquestioned starter to being demoted in the snap of Mike O'Shea's fingers after 6 games of indecision. Then traded. The "snap of the fingers" is meant to be satirical. Personnel decisions like this are done all the time.
