Just doing the math on the salary cap of $6.06,000,000 on a 45 man roster that works out to an average of $134,667.00. Of course, except the Bombers who are taking the cautious approach & still waiting any day now for the PA to change its mind & divert that $400,000 salary cap increase into pension money.

Vaughters did not have a great season. Rose had a down year as well. Howsare was brutal. I doubt if he'll be back. I have an open book on Vaughters because collectively as a unit those guys were absolute ****. In Winnipeg, he gets to team on the DL with WJ. I thought with Vaughters we'd sign one more impact DL but I was wrong.

Ellingson played 8 games before being out the rest of the season with an injury. How can you say that a receiver who played just 8 games, played well? He missed 9 games. Walters didn't bring him back as he was finished. Ellingson signed in Montreal & caught one pass in 2023. Just used him as an example. Moore, Bowman & Ellingson didn't pan out.

Only recently. His track record before Lawler wasn't very good. We had troubles fining & keeping a deep threat that stretched the field. The names I mentioned weren't from the past 29 years, They were from Walters tenure here since mid 2013. Adarius Bowman played only 6 games for the Bombers in 2018. Greg Ellingson played 8 games in 2022. Nick Moore had one very good season in 2015 then tore his knee up doing a stupid TD celebration & he was toast. I just remember a not very good receiving corps & our offense struggled. I hope the guys they have now gell into something good. .

Lithgow did a great job as Churchill. I don't know why you didn't like it.

He was very good. Didn't let the booing faze him at all. There were boos when he sang but he also got cheers & applause when he finished The Star Spangled Banner. Good for him.

Even though the Armed Forces guy did a great job of Oh Canada, Roger Doucet would have been in his glory.

Not just that but Walters kept signing these 30 plus year old wide receivers whose best days were beind them. Most of them seemed to always be injured. There was Adarius Bowman from Edmonton, Weston Dressler from the Riders & Greg Ellingson of the Ti Cats & RedBlacks. None of those 3 worked out. All free agents. We signed a bunch of free agent receivers including RWJ who had a serious knee injury. Hoping the new scouts are better at evaluating free agent talent than Goveia & Ringmaiden were when they were here.

For a moment, I thought it was 1977. The Flyers vs the Canadiens. Dave Schultz vs Larry Robinson. The only thing missing was a bench clearing brawl. Robinson destroyed Schultz btw. He really put that bully in his place.

Until recently, our record of finding even just one legit receiver wasn't very good. Remember Greg Ellingson? Walking injury the entire time he was here. More time in the tub than on the field. It took us years to find Lawler, Let alone put together an elite CFL receiving corps.

You do realize that Edwards signed with the Bombers in 2007? So, "the last time" was 18 years ago. The last time we signed a running back from Lincoln, Nebraska. That was 70 years ago & it worked out pretty good too. Just sayin'. However, I do get the meaning of your message.

You're the guy who says we should keep our mouth shut yet here you are. Why aren't you leading by example? Clearly, it's do as I say but not not as I do.

A stud NFL cut will go on the PR of some NFL team or sign with the UFL. With the falling Canadian dollar, tariffs, Canadians booing the Star Spangled Banner at NHL & NBA games, it's going to be even tougher to get these "studs" to come up here.

And we all have a voice whether it's good or bad. We agree or disagree. We're lucky to have this place. Fans in Montreal & Ottawa have nothing.

You say this on a discussion thread? Keep our mouths shut? We can cheer the team on without being fan bois here. Just because I & a few others here are criticizing the way this off season has gone. It doesn't mean we hate the team. Or aren't good fans. It means we care. For me, the alternative is to throw my hands up & say **** it I don't give a **** & start following my favourite NFL team a lot closer. I can tell you, I'll never stop loving this team. I'll also will never stop criticizing or applauding if I see or read something I disagree/agree with.

I see the Good Ship Bombers sinking before they hit the iceberg. The team has sprung a leak. Especially with the way they are managing the cap now.

As I said before, at least Friesen calls it like he sees them. Like the media used to do years ago. I have no problem with his reporting style.

Already on social media the Bombers are being called cheapskates.

I'm grinding your gears in a half kidding mode (not looking for a fight) because I made a comment about the salary cap last week or the week before. Your response directly to me here was that you are tired of people commenting about the salary cap when they don't understand how it works. I'm sure you remember. I'm just sending you a response saying no one really knows how the Bombers decide to use the cap or really knowss how it works. I'm just making a comment in response. I respect your knowledge here when it comes to the CFL.
