This will be the last season the same core of veterans we've had for years will be playing together. We need to re-sign Schoen, Demski & other key vets as well as sign some free agents from other teams. There will be changes in the secondary, OL & DL. We need to sign an ILB to ge the eventual replacement for Biggie. Some vets will be casualties & won't be back. I expect we'll get younger at some positions. This will be the last kick of the can for this core.

O'Shea has no personnel or wcouting experience. If Walters were to leave (which we hope dos not happen) then Danny McManus or Ted Goveia takes over . You can't expect these 2 guys to do the grunt work scouting for years to not reward one of them with the GM position if Walters goes.

Last week, I posted a local Regina media type said that O'Day wouldn't be fired by the Board. That he was close with the Rider Board members & thery didn't want to fire him. I also said that Dickenson would fall on his sword which he did. I could MAYBE.... understand a 1 year extension but THREE YEARS???? What a bunch of ****. I actually feel bad for Rider fans... Check that. No, I don't. Even a half empty stadium wasn't enough to scare the Board members into having O'Day replaced. We have a direct quote from Rider President Craig Reynolds...

Makes a 5 yard catch yesterday, Survives a hard tackle & jumps up glaring, huffing & puffing while pointing his arm forward like he's some kind of tough guy.... As in, like surviving a shotgun blast to the chest with no ill effects. He does that on every catch he makes. Say, didn't Schafer-Baker miss half the season due to injury? The tough ain't so tough after all. What a prima dona. You catch footballs for a living. You're expected to make the tough catches. Do your job, fool. Again, Dickenson is a weak head coach who would rather lose games & go bowling than having to do the unpleasant work as a head coach. Such as cracking down & applying discipline. Demanding that his players act like professionals at all times. As well as having them focus & work harder. Low expectations by Dickenson & his coaching staff lead to poor results on the field. No surprise there.

Harris hurt for sure. But losing Fine??? It was such a great loss that when he came back, the short yardage qb replaced him.

I used to like Craig Dickenson. I actually got to know him when he was an assistant under Hufnagel In Calgary & Dave was a player. Nice guy. He actually did a little coaching of my son when he was in high school at a qb camp run by his brother Dave. However,he lost me with the Garrett Marino incident. How he blindly defended him & refused to do anything until the league suspended Marino. Even after that incident & ignoring the pushback from everyone. From Ambrosie the fans & the media, He still defended Marino. It was only when he was told to get rid of him or else that he finally did after another roughing penalty the same game Marino came back from suspension. Dickenson embarrased himself, his team & the league. Then this season when Pete Robertson head butted Collaros & he again defended a player who did a blatantly bad thing after the whistle had blown. The CFL suspended Robertson for doing that. As much as I liked Dickenson, I'll be glad when he's done.
