Dyce may be a nice guy but a horrendous coach. That decision should get him fired.
-
I don't ******* believe it. I knew Ottawa winning was too good to be true. What a ******* day. ****.
-
Can the RedBlacks do it??
-
That may be the plan for next season. Right now Eli & Dobson are the extra blockers on the LOS. So, they are getting game experience & playing.
-
Is Kola really the problem? I think he's doing okay. That safety blitz they missed was between him & Neufeld. They both didn't see him coming but neither did Zach.
-
What a letdown. I'm trying to watch this game & actually care.
-
-
They look more like 2017 now than 2021. We need a pass rush Yey we do nothing to improve it. So frustrating. Not about that. About how he treated his players.
-
That was total BS. What a bad decision.
-
Well 236 wins & 5 wins says otherwise. He still won. And like I said every HOF coach won with HOF qbs. In the CFL & NFL. But this isn't about how Matthews won. It's how he made his players accountable & the consequences of playing badly. Same with Wally & Cal Murphy. You better perform or else. One of my Facebook friends named Paul Clatney played for both. He told me that Murphy could be mean & cruel to his players. Guys were afraid of him. Yet, he won. Anyway, we're just going around in circles here. You don't like Matthews. I don't either but I respect the fact he did win. We can leave it at that if you want & move on.
-
When isn't our defense ****? We can't rush & therefore we can't cover. We knew our DL was garbage & nothing has been done to improve it.
-
I agree but why doesn't O'Shea actually do that??
-
So what? He won. How he did it or how he won is immaterial. His style of coaching won him games. And the fact that he was a player's coach & buddy buddy with his players until they didn't perform. Then it was all business. They were gone. You ask anyone who played for him. They loved the guy but they knew they better play hard for him or else. Players knew they had to perform so the fear factor was always there. I don't think any of us have that feeling about O'Shea. The same players always play other than returners. No matter how they perform.
-
Rambling nonsense? Ha, ha. Sure, like you saying that Matthews didn't win much without a HOF qb? He won 236 games over 25 seasons in the CFL as a HC which is second all time behind Wally. He won 5 Grey Cups with 4 different teams & won COTY 5 times. Yeah, he sure didn't win much without a HOF qb. Neither did any HOF Head Coach. Like Cal Murphy with Tom Clements. Frank Clair with Russ Jackson. Eagle Keys with Ron Lancaster. Bud Grant with Ken Ploen & Hugh Campbell with both Tom Wilkinson & Warren Moon. Rambling nonsense. Lol.

How did they have the best defenses? By coaching thru fear & bringing in younger & cheaper players every season to replace aging & more expensive players. . That's what I said but you deleted it. Try quoting everything I say, please & not just nit pick.
-
How did Wally & Matthews win over 200 games each in their long careers? Wally did it with fear. He outright cut guys mid season if they played badly. Her certainly did that in the off season. He always brought in younger guys who were cheaper than veterans playing the same position. Damn, he cut Allen Pitts after he came off a thousand yard season to sign another younger FA receiver from another team. Players hateed Wally but they always played hard for him as they had to. Matthews was more of a player coach than Wally. He'd tell his players that he'd run through a wall for them. He told his players that they'll have fun playing for him. Providing they play well every game & they win. If not, guys were also scared to lose their jobs as he'd get rid of guys not playing well. What do we have now? Guys stay on the roster continuosly even if they play badly. What the **** is Schmeckle even doing on the field??? I don't understand the naturalized Canadian rules very much but I understand what Booch is saying, so I'll believe what he says. Nothing changes. This team is going nowhere.

She put on an Argo helmet last night & yelled Arrrgos. These TSN announcers are supposed to be unbiased. What a joke.

We can sure tell when the Bombers put up a stinker. Like today, usually in the first few minutes of the game. We stunk. No pressure on Powell. Zero. It doesn't help when our secondary lets every receiver catch the ball in front of them. No return gamne. Again. Zach throwing picks all over the place. This team will flirt with 14 wins, go to BC Place for the Western Final & lose. We saw the fire in the team last week at the Banjo Bowl. This week it was all smoke the HOF game. There seems to be no worry in the players. No concern about today or worrying about losing their positions & they played like it. As Booch said, that's coaching. This game was such a piss off. My Gawd, have some pride, players. We let bad teams push us around.

The Elks are no joke anymore. Any team that plays them better be ready to play their best game. Or they'll lose like the Riders did.
-
The bounces sure are going the Argos way this season. They find different ways to win every week. I've seen this act before. Usually, it lasts until the playoffs or Grey Cup. Then the bounces go the other way. Ask the 16-2 Esks in 1989 or the 16-2 Stamps in 2017. In what way? Kelly was hyper when he was interviewed. Making them talk to a TSN sideline reporter as they come off the field never made sense to me. They need to have a few minutes to calm down before a camera is foisted upon them & they have to answer questions on tv. Some players handle it better than others.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Your comments are just so clueless. I don't feel disrespected by O'Shea. Why would I feel disrespected? And, if you're so new here then why would my talking about injuries not being disclosed bother you when it shouldn't. Unless, as I suspected you ain't who you say you are & changed your name. So then, now that the doves of peace are in the air between us & the butterflies are flying free, practice what you preach & don't mock me in a negative way if you believe so much in positivity. Quit trying to be the one who spreads humour & good cheer on this board when no one else asked for it or cares. Your self aggrandizing attitude makes you look foolish & narcissistic. I had a good friend online on many CFL chat sites like this who was murdered over a decade ago. His name was Reg. Some people here knew him as well. He would have had a saying for you that would be quite accurate, "Quit lecturin'... "

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
SpeedFlex27 replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We signed Left Tackle Stanley Bryant. Then brought in that gargantuan sized American Right Guard in Travis Bond, traded for Canadian Guard Pat Neufeld along with Right Tackle Jamarcus Hardrick. Then drafted Right Guard Sukh Chungh, Guard & Center Michael Couture & Crnter Matthias Goosen. Walters transformed our OL in a very short time from one of the all time worst to one of the best.. Stanley was the first he signed as a FA & has had the most high impact on the OL at Left Tackle. You're probably half serious. -
Nah, Schmeckel may be bad but he's not the worst all time. The two worst players over the past 60 years I ever saw play were two qbs... John Schneider & Jason Boltus. They were damned awful.

If you put good people in place in mgmt & on the sidelines then a team should be able to overcome any expansion deficiencies they may have had especially with free agents coming & going in the CFL like they do. Which is why I hated the way the Expansion Draft was tilted heavily in favour of Ottawa but hurt struggling teams like Winnipeg (3-15 in 2013) & Edmonton (4-14 in 2013). Look at the Bombers in 2013. Basically a team totally bereft of talent save for a couple of players. We really couldn't afford to lose anyone & yet we were forced to do so. Then forced to draft second behind Ottawa that spring as if there wasn't enough insult added to injury. Still, our new GM & HC were able to build something in the following seasons while the RedBlacks struggled mightily at times. Save for one GC winning season in 2017 with a win over the heavily favoured Stamps. Since their first game in 2014 & including all games this season the RedBlacks have gone 54-96-1 with one Grey Cup win during the regular season. The Bombers, a team that Marcel Desjardins laughed at during the 2013 Expansion Draft have gone 92-62 with two Grey Cup victories. It was great managing by Walters & coaching by O'Shea that made for an incredibe turnaround in our team's fortunes compared to Ottawa. Pretty heady days for the RedBlacks organization & their fans ten years ago thinking they had it made in the shade. That the good times would never end. Ottawa found out something the hard way, though. That it was a lot easier to build a roster from the ground up in an expansion draft & getting to $5 million in salary cap money one player at a time from the ground floor, then manage free agency & drafting all from scratch. Then in seasons afterwards, the difficulty of managing a complete roster & trying to sign back key free agents without losing them while bringing in others from different CFL teams. Trying to sign players while staying within the salary cap isn't easy. That's a whole new thing that Ottawa has absolutely failed in. It was so easy that first year & so very hard after that as Desjardins & then Burke found out.

Pretty easy to be a dink here & then blame it on your warped sense of humour.
