  1. He signed in late September & had been off & on NFL PR's. We discussed him here saying how long will he be willing to go without a paycheque waiting for a call from an NFL team? Ottawa desperately in need of any Canadian talent especially on the line massively overpaid for the guy.
  2. So, I'm at the Banjo Bowl. If anyone wants to stop by, my wife & I will be standing across from the Bomber Store overlooking the stadium at or about 2 pm. I'll be wearing a Dieter Brock jersey with a grey beard & glasses. I'll be there till about 2:30. Please come up to say hello.
  3. People in glass houses should not throw stones.
  4. I like the final outcome of the simulation.
  5. Everyday... I don't care about Scheifle but I wish they'd find a way to keep Hellebuyck.
  6. Desjarlais did the same thing last season. He was cut by the Patriots waived thru the NFL but not offered a PR contract. He went home waiting for a call from Belichek that never happened. He eventually signed with the RedBlacks instead of us as they massively overpaid him & his presence is doing nothing to help them win as he's just a Canadian Guard. he'd have been a better & more effective player with us but money talks so he went to Ottawa. So, now he can lose but count his money after each loss like Levon did in a garage by a motorway. Ford will sit until it's clear to him that phone call he's waiting for will never come. And he's a DB that can help us but as a Sam Linebacker not as a corner.
  7. You totally lost me.
  8. Stop & think what you're saying. You want to see bench clearing brawls in football? When teams are already thin at certain positions, you want to see suspensions as well? Give your head a shake. Football is not hockey. Discipline in the sport has always been extremely stressed from pee wee to pros & is absolutely paramount. It is one of the pillars the sport is built upon. The other thing, football players are protected with all kinds of equipment. Just where will any player throw the first punch without breaking his hand?? Fighting in football makes no sense as players can get seriously hurt. That's why it doesn't happen very often. A lack of fighting or retaliation doesn't mean anything other than players have been taught not to take stupid retaliatory penalties as it hurts THE TEAM. And, TEAM will always come first. If it doesn't then you have garbage organizations like the Riders who never win anything despite trying to think they intimidate when they don't. Now then, go back to watching more You Tube videos of the 1975 Philadelphia Flyers bench clearing brawls. Probably told by the CFLPA & his team to just get it over with. What a classless organization.
  9. I've been to 3 LD Games over the years. The first one in 1974, the Bombers kicked a walk off FG to win the game. The drunk Rider fan right below me broke his whiskey bottle & held the neck shard threatening to stab me until he was hustled away by his buddies. The next time in 1988, we lost something like 50-7. I was wearing a Bomber cap & had a beer poured all over me from above as I exited the stadium. So please, after nearly being hospitalized by a drunk wacko Rider fan who was going to stab me & a free beer shower I'll never have nice things to say about Rider fans at Mosaic Stadium no matter how poetic you wax about how nice they are. They're not. Ninety five per cent are dinks. Now away from that place most become Homo Sapiens again & rejoin the human race.
  10. Getting tired of seeing daily stories of the Jets in trade talks with (insert new team everyday). Piss or get off the pot, Chevy.
  11. Football is a different sport than hockey where retaliation is the name of the game. There aren't a lot of fights. Discipline is stressed so much. Unless you're a Rider player.
  12. Simple. It's a slump. Things happen. Guys maybe get complacent. Perhaps one of the receivers think the other guy will make a play. Just a lot of reasons for it to happen, They just have to get untracked. I'm hoping the Robertson headbutt will wake this team up & motivate them to put an ass whupping on the Riders on Saturday.
  13. Booch, Parker was dreadful as a kick returner. McCrae is much more versatile & is a better returner than Parker. Can you see O'Shea dressing Fox? I sure can't.
  14. If one guy had to go it would be Sanchez. What a POS he was when he played & he still is today on TSN. It isn't very often I hope for an absolute slaughter by the Bombers but I do for this game. Dickenson for being a total asshat afterwards saying what Robertson did really wasn't bad or suspension worthy. Then it was. Michael Ball & Luc Mullinder because those two are dinks & the worst broadcasters in sports saying the Bombers are overreacting & Zach took a dive. And just to destroy the Riders because it's a ****** organization run by morons. Glad I'll be at this coming game. If we win thid game by anything less than 3 touchdowns, I'll be very unhappy. Meanwhile Dandy Randy is has been in hiding since Touchdown Atlantic 2 months ago. Not that there's any media left in this country to ask him tough questions.
  15. Thank you. I appreciate the insight. Yes, my Dad was certainly different. A heckuva nice guy who'd leave his family hanging with no money. Still dealing with things today, unfortunately. Man, I've climbed more than a few high mountains & deep valleys in my lifetime. Very painful dealing with anger issues. depression, little patience & lack of self confidence. Also trust. I've had issues all my school & then working life with authority figures. I just had a hard time trusting anyone who was my teacher or boss. I've been fired more than once for insubordination. I've tried to get help but it's so hard to find a psychologist to talk things out. I'd like to know why the way I am even at my age. Still trying to be a better person for my family. Anyway, back to the thread here.
  16. There are always consequences to a lifestyle of excess with alcohol &/or drugs. Most die young or years before they should. Unfortunately, my father was an alcoholic & he drank himself to death. He may have lived a long life otherwise but his liver & brain were pickled. That may sound callous as I loved my father & watching someone slowly kill themselves while being helpless to do anything about it is the worst thing a loved one can experience. So, that is how I handle things when I think or talk about him by being a bit aloof. It sounds a little cruel but it's how I still handle the grief of his life & death. Even though my Dad has been gone for 21 years, there are days I still get angry for being cheated out of spending more time with him as well as the negative experiences I had as a kid when he drank. Our place a lot of the time was like a nuthouse. Just utter chaos that I won't get into. My Mother did her best to hold things together & to her everlasting credit she did. The one saving grace of my Dad's alcoholism was that he was a happy drunk. He never once struck her, myself or my siblings. I'm thankful for that one small bit of God's mercy as that would have been the end of us as a family. As a result of being a constant party guy & not being violent, she hung in with him right to the end. No doubt to keep us all together. My Mother was a Saint. Dad would disappear for days & we didn't know if he was alive or dead. A lot of times, we didn't have food in the house as when he disappeared into his alcoholic abyss, he'd always drink away the money that was supposed to be used for groceries. He'd come home three or 4 days late totally broke. Or with just enough money left over for emergency groceries like bread, milk or eggs. Sometimes, our one or two of my Mom's friends who were our neighbours or aunts & uncles would help us out with food iof things were desperate. When I was old enough to stay home alone in grade 3 or 4 as I was the youngest, my Mom got a job as a maid just to be able to feed the family. Dad was just happier drunk than sober. No idea why my father had so much pain & felt the need to be medicated constantly by alcohol. I wish I was able to have found out just so I could try to understand. When he was alive, I never felt the need to ask. Now, I wish that I did but it's too late. The final 10 years of his life my father had stopped drinking because he had forgotten he drank. He spent his final decade of his life at the Riverview Health Centre on the Alzheimers Ward. The 60 plus years of abuse did their damage as he developed senility & ultimately the final deed was done. He once told me he started smoking & was already getting drunk on a regular basis by the age of 9. His older brother by 2 years also was an alcoholic & died the same way. They were partners in crime, I guess. How do kids get liquor & smokes at that age?? Who is evil enough to give it to them? Well. somehow they both did. Just so sad. My condolences to the family of Steve Hartwell.
  17. You'll never stop Ford's running completely but the only way is by making him throw. He may get to a point where he's a competent passer in this league but UI suspect he'll never be elite. Too much dependency on his legs so he's run first & throw second. He had 136 yards rushinbg & only 119 yards passing & throwing just 19 times. Not a recipe for success as a CFL qb. And of course, the more he runs the higher the risk of injury. We've all seen these young athletic looking qbs come in, dazzle us with their running brilliance only to fade away eventually because they could never throw. So, we'll see if he develops into a Tracy Ham or a Terrence Jones. For those of you who don't know who or never heard of Terrence Jones, he was a super athletic qb who could scramble & run like crazy during his CFL career in the 90's. He would have been best described as a "Coach Killer" because he had all the physical tools to be a success but intellectually it just didn't happen. Coaches who started Jones always lost. We've had plenty of athletic Terrence Jones type qbs come up here & fail. As well as take head coaches down with them. 18. Dolegala made Brit Dort look like one of Santa's elves.
  19. Multi year is all I know. Bob Young could fire him & eat the cost but he won't. The fans in Hamilton deserve a lot better from their owner because the team just gets worse every year under Steinhauer. He's a lot like Jets owner Mark Chipman with loyalty to his employees.
  20. He wears like 3 different hats & is under a long term deal like Jones. They can't fire him.
  21. You know if Milt was headbutted like that by Sanchez when they played against one another he'd have been crying to all the media about how Sanchez should be suspended.
  22. Sanchez is a total moron. Milt is a close second now.
  23. WTH is Milt's excuse? I expect it from an asshat like Sanchez. Not Milt??? I mean, how can he condone what happened??
  24. I've been out all afternoon & I pvr'd the Hammy & Stamps games. I just finished watching the pre game show on TSN & they found out Robertson was just suspended 1 game. Of course, Sanchez thinks its wrong because he hates the Bombers. Sanchez goes off on how O & DL head butt each other as do linebackers. Then he says that he understands the CFL wants to protect the qb. Then he says the suspension is unfair & tells Dunigan... Dunigan... whose had a number of concussions, had to retire because of them & still suffers their lingering effects today just how dumb the suspension is. Really??? Dunigan? Then Milt starts yelling at Sanchez, "I agree! I agree!!" WTF has happened to Stegall? He agrees with Sanchez that the headbut suspension on Robertson is wrong??? Now, Milt is a dirtbag like Sanchez.
