Parayko shouldn't even be on the team. His best days are far behind him and I want no part of him. I would be going after Weegar. -
Ehlers has a 10 team no trade clause and I am betting that Utah is one of those teams. I like the Ehlers for Pulock rumor. As far as DeMelo goes, if he isn't signed by the time free agency gets here, there'll be numerous teams talking to him and at the front of the line will probably be TO. JMo Pulock would be a great first pairing. Buy out Schmidt and you could have Samberg Salomosson (Pionk if he isn't traded) as 2nd pair and Ville DeMelo as 3rd pairing, but getting more than 12 minutes a game.

Winnipeg Jets 2023 Off-Season Thread
Jimmy from Lockport replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
3 or 4 years would be good but 5 or more is too much. I can't think of a goalie that performed well at this age. He would be 35 after a 4 year deal and that is pushing it. 3 x 10m would be okay with me. Give Scheif a 7 x 9m that is front loaded so it doesn't hurt as much when you buy out his last year or two. 12m, 12m, 12m, 8m, 7m, 6m, 6m. I think the Jets waive Capo, send Ville to the Moose and roster JMo, DD, Dillon, Samberg, Schmidt, Pionk, Stanley and Chisholm. For the forwards, I think they waive AJF. -

2 x 1m is a show me contract. He has 2 years to show what he can do. I see him as a career 4th liner. If he gets steady minutes on the 3rd line in the next two seasons, the trade looks even better. His ceiling is replacing Lowry as the checking center. I have read that he hits a lot so, that's a start! -

I doubt the D man they move will be Dillon. He makes 4m this season and a 2m bonus was just paid and he keeps the front of the crease clear as any Jets' D man. His AAV is 3.9m. Stanley's QO is 875k and I wouldn't offer him a penny more. I think Schmidt is moved. Hopefully it is Schmidt and Stanley. -
45m over the next 5 years is almost as much as what he is going to make on any 6 or 7 year deal elsewhere. I think this lineup makes the playoffs. That 3rd line could own other team's lines depending. Three good lines and a really good 4th line. I would sign Helle for 5 x 9 and Scheif for 6 x 8.5m. Perfetti Scheifele Vilardi KFC Names Ehlers Iafallo Lowry Nino Barron Kup Apples or Nino Perfetti Scheifele KFC Vilardi Kup Iafallo Namestnikov Ehlers Barron Lowry Apples

2023 Free Agent Frenzy

I give Chevy a B- for free agency. Love Names and LB coming back but some moves knocks it down from a B. -
Trade deadline thread.

Hagel has 2 seasons after this one. Chevy needs to start a bidding war on Copp and Stastny. And Dillon and Schmidt. Schmidt is probably easier in the off season. -
I'd move Dillon down to watch Schmidt's ass on the third pairing.
-
Red Wings' announcer said he was 6' 4" and 216 lbs.

Samberg is a gooder. He's easily going to be a top 4 D man and if his O game improves playing with this forward group, he might one day be considered a top pairing LHD. His play wasn't mistake free but he is an intelligent player that knows how to use is size in more ways than one. Quite the vote of confidence having him playing on the kill and when they pulled their goalie. We have JMo Dillon Stanley Samberg Heinola Chisholm and even Schmidt shoots left. Lundmark should be ready in a couple or three years. That's some serious LH depth that Chevy might choose to use to shore up another area. What would a young D man like Stanley or Heinola return? PLD's dad is doing a fine job with our D men on the farm. Chisholm looked good (Maurice wudda played him 4 1/2 minutes) in his time and sure can skate. Kovacevic is said to be playing well and would have been called up instead of Chisholm if he were not in covid protocol. Perfetti's smarts shone through and he had good positioning in his own zone especially since he was playing right wing most shifts. Love to see him on the 1PP.....Scheif PLD KC Perfetti and Ehlers or Schmidt.

I'd like to see Gus on the PK and Lowry's LW with Copper on the RW. -

Jersey lost in Minny last night. If Helle plays well, I say we win big. -
The Jets bitchfest thread

The Isles have a ton of players (7?) out to covid and a couple of injuries as well. Also, they've played 13 of 18 on the road and had a crazy long road trip thrown in there. I see them making the playoffs. Trotz is signed for a season after this one but he'd be ideal here. -
Game 22: vs. Jets 1.0 (Coyotes)
Jimmy from Lockport replied to captaincanuck12's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
The biggest single reason we have been losing game is the special teams. Mainly the powerplay. How many chances did the refs give us last game for God's sake? If they aren't spending the majority of their practice on the special teams, the whole coaching staff should be fired. Also, if Kompon is in charge of the PP and he is in California, get someone that is actually with the team daily to caoch the PP. I know his wife is battling cancer but the show must go on. Whenever he is available to coach again, he gets his job back. I have been a fairly strong supporter of Maurice but it is time for a change behind the bench. We need someone with the cajones to bench Scheif. Someone smart enough to keep a line together that was dominating opposing lines. Make Lowry the interim coach and start a thorough search for someone. Someone that can take the team to the cup not coaching a team with this much talent into a bubble team. What's Larry Robinson doing nowadays? Claude Julien? Quenneville. Q would be my first choice. -
Put KV in Hark's spot and I really like that lineup...

Bobby Hull was a hell of a player but a first class *******. I know people that have guided him fishing in northern MB. His "guy" calls you before you meet him and tells you the subjects not to be discussed. His bro Dennis and son Brett are two of them among many, many others. He is from a different generation but that doesn't make it right. -
A line of Stastny Lowry Wheeler would be interesting to watch for 8-10 games.
-
Have you watched Hark play lately?

Connor Dubois Svech Stastny Copp Ehlers KV Scheif Wheeler Hark Lowry Nash No need for Boolow playing at all.

Wow, this might be the end of the line for Chevy and Q. -
I sure hope he leaves KC with PLD. KV Scheif Wheeler KC PLD Svechnikov Copp Stastny Ehlers Harkins Lowry Nash A really good checking line with 3 scoring lines. I expect Maurice to go with KC Scheif Wheeler as a line as soon as they are back.
