Was just rewatching the game and on the first Streveler pass that was almost picked off, Odell Willis dropped back in to coverage. I was under the impression that most teams just ran vanilla schemes. Anyone else think it was odd Wally would be dropping defensive ends in to coverage in preseason?

Interesting the bombers liked kenbrell thompkins better than Myles white, assuming he didn’t want to sit on the PR. Somebody should sign him. I think for once we had an excess talent at receiver.

Maybe we establish a half decent backup in the process and are better off in the long run if anything happens to Nichols.

just saw Nichols is out 4-6 weeks. IF this is true and it’s not worse than that, could this actually turn out being a good thing? Hear me out. Imagine Nichols is out 6 weeks, we go 3-3 or 2-4 we are nowhere close to out of the race. Nichols comes back and gives a huge boost to the team and has been resting for the first third of the season. I know wishful thinking but we have to be positive at this point.

When defences bring more pressure and start changing up the zone coverages that'll be his real test. Really good performance last night though.

It won't be handed to Ross, Streveler was much better than Ross last night. I just would temper some of the expectations given the circumstances.

Yeah, it'll be a little different with Sewell trying to take his head off. My point is our o-line was better than whoever the esks brought here.

In practice those two were were making plays all over the field. Once the defence figured it out a bit Dressler would be absolutely forgotten and make a play for 40 or Demski would make a nice play. Gonna be an exciting offence this year.

Interesting to look at, if Streveler didn’t fumble on his big run we could be looking at him scoring at this controls on 4/5 drives.

Yeah Alex Ross throws a pretty ball and can be accurate in practice, Streveler can be erratic in practice and just seemed to run too much. Really happy Streveler perform with the lights on and likely snag that backup role for the time being.

It’s too early because he had all day to throw last night. Our O-line was dominating and Edmonton was running a vanilla defence.
