Nichols has injuries in his past, streveler will get his playing time.

I would rather Streveler gets to play when Matt isn't doing well....maybe light a fire under matts butt.

If you are insinuating Streveler will get to play once Matty is hurt again, well that seems like an odd way to go about it.

  2. IMO Strevelr looked better just based on the games he started for us this year.  Yes be loyal to Matt for a bit...... but it's almost time to give Streveler some meaningful reps when Matt isn't moving the offence efficiently enough.  Especially when losing by three scores or more...... QB controversy be damned ! We want a cup now !

    Go Bombers

Depending how the season plays out, Nichols will be in a battle in training camp. A tough decision will be coming

I was just thinking about the next two games....if Matt is below par in those two games,  And we lose the games..... the fans(boo birds specifically), will be restless come banjo bowl time......

The players still have to execute, you can have the best game plan in the world but it won't matter if the players don't execute. It doesn't have to be about dropping passes or missing throws either, it can be as small as missing a block or being yard off your route. It's the execution of the details that sets players/teams apart.

A QB who is mobile and can ad lib and throw on the fly can hide a lot of the mistakes made in front him.

Same thing happened in one of the early games this season. O was struggling, Streveler went in, (forget why) team got fired up, then Nichols went back in and did well.

I think Strevelers mobility and willing to throw while running hard is partly what makes everyone look more fired up when he is successful.

I think most people wouldn't have a problem with it was relevant to what was being discussed.  However I do see some of our fans lash out at opposition fans in the same manner.  I kind of get it, but think it takes away from the discussion

I wasn't lashing out, I just didn't think anyone here wanted to be reminded of Durant in any way.  Never mind he is an ex rider.

and so it appears to be occurring again..teams are constanlty evolving their line-ups..bringing in new guys at expense of current ones to better their squad...as we stand pat with the same old "we like our guys"...and "he has worked hard in practice"..."we aren't interested in him (Mathews)

This is the reason that I don't think this management group has the stones to get over the hump...blind loyalty and "liking" a guy only goes so far...and I agree with what Leggett said last year...we need a couple grade A assbags on the team who play to win and don't give a flying @##$ what people think on how they do it...we have a more than capable locker room to manage and maintain it...time for coaches and management to stop being a bunch of ******* and be old school football men...infuriates me to no end

I remember saying pretty much the same stuff and got roasted and tossed for it. 😎

Say what you want about Durant, but he never complained about getting hit.  I agree it is not the oline's job to see the qb untouched all game, it just isn't realistic to expect that.  Sometimes he has to wait a couple more seconds for the play to develop and take a hit to complete a pass.  That's what the great qb's do like Mike Reilly.

Who is talking about Durant ? He doesn't even play anymore....yer on the wrong board lol

Umm well MTL did but ... Ask them how that's worked out so far

I wonder how he would have performed with the Bombers.  Matt can't scramble at all...... Manziel and Streveler are both more exciting QB's right now in the league. Potential wise.

I don't hold with your optimism about Hall. If O'Shea wouldn't fire him last season then he won't this season. I also don't like the way our Canadian receivers are treated on this team. Lankford, an International plays while Petermann, a Canadian sits. Wolitarsky plays & he never gets thrown to. He's shown if given a chance that he too can make plays. He can't when he is ignored.  A great game for him now is 2 catches for 25 yards.  He is of no consequence at all.

Streveler and Wolitarskey have history.  Streveler threw some to him early this season.

Matt Nichols is the best QB we’ve had since Khari Jones and we had our two best seasons in nearly 20 years with him under the helm. Obviously he must be hurt right now and he needs to play better but my god. Fickle fans. After all the junk we’ve had at the QB position over the years I’m not ready to write him off just yet, however yes he needs to be better.

Okay matt is the best since Khari, and we had our best two seasons with Matt in twenty years.  I agree.  But how does looking backwards help get to a cup ?

Streveler has that Dunigan vibe in him. When his time comes(hopefully not with another team), itll be fun to watch.

Oh man I hope it doesn't happen with another team.

When I posted the comment I was thinking Bo Levi is called a gun slinger...an he has won lots.......and then I thought was Ricky Ray ever considered a gun slinger type QB ?....An he won just lately.....so when bubba said Matt is not a gun slinger I thought right away well that's what we need.......
