  1. Good thing I wasn't saving the pvr'd game for tomorrow.
  2. I actually think it does fall on them. I was just offering my thoughts on what is likely to happen. O'shea will be probably be given a pass because of the loss of Nichols and that pass will likely solidify if he sacrifices one or both of his co-ordinators. You have to be at least a bit of a hard-ass if you want to be the boss and make uncomfortable decisions that will hurt/disappoint people. While he may have been a hard-ass as a player he doesn't strike me as one as a coach.
  3. Eaaasy Big Fella...I think you know that's not at all what I said.
  4. And ya figure whining and crying about whining and crying gives you the high ground?
  5. Barking out plays on the line...with a lot of wag-gles and belly rubs for motivation.
  6. I've said it before but I think it bears repeating... It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong. - Thomas Sowell
  7. Good chance he gets one more year because we lost Nichols. My guess is the theory will be that had we had him we do better...even if it turns out to be 9-9 and one and done. I think the odds of that may even go up if O'Shea decides to hoof one or both of Hall and LaPo as sacrificial scapegoats Not saying I agree with that decision if it's made...just my gut feeling.
  8. I'm not sure people thought he'd be way better...more like he'd bring more variety to the game plan. Unfortunately I think many casual observers are starting to realize that regardless who our QB is we're going to have difficulty succeeding with LaPo calling the games. That being said Chris is hanging on to the ball way too long...but...ironically that was one of the knocks on Matt too. I don't know why that is. Just about every other team's QBs manage to get off a lot of really quick passes. Slants...hitches (with blocking in place). Matt's upside was eating it or throwing it out if he didn't feel comfortable. Chris tries to force it. I feel for Chris. I have no doubt he's feeling an incredible amount of pressure to take what was billed as a Grey Cup contender all the way which I think influences some of his poor decisions. He's trying to make up for some pretty suspect play calling with some pretty suspect decisions. Not a great combo.
  9. I'd be more inclined to agree with that if I had any idea how much influence he has on the cautious approach we often see from the co-ordinators. Plus his unwillingness to acknowledge issues and/or take responsibility for them just reeks of denial. Not a positive quality for a coach if indeed the case.
  10. My point is you had concerns and you shared them...period. You didn't have an agenda...you didn't hate Nichols. You were just a fan with a perspective. A concern. Now someone else is doing the same re: the team and you suggest he wants the team to lose/has an agenda. I find that ironic. Edit... Just remembered...I even defended you when I first arrived because based on other comments from the other board I decided you were just expressing your concerns with no ulterior motive and I got piled on and accused of being an alt account of yours. People take comments about the team personally which is just bizarre, imo.
  11. Did Nichols record mean nothing to you when you used to comment on your concerns about him? Comments that brought you no end of grief on two separate forums from people suggesting you had some sort of agenda? So we have to wait til the ship is completely submerged before daring to discuss if it may be leaking?
  12. Apparently he won't take responsibility, either.
  13. Interesting comment from a reporter during the Q&A with MOS on Thurs. Reporter: Was talking to Willy Jefferson earlier and he said he's kinda noticed some guys that looked like they are playing kinda complacent in practice and in games lately. Is that something you've noticed as well? MOS: Our guys generally work pretty damn hard.
  14. For me it's more than his decision making...it's his unwillingness to admit that there are issues (he doesn't have to thrown anyone under the bus to admit there are issues) and his unwillingness to take any responsibility for them. By halftime of the Hamilton game the team had given up 790 passing yards in the last 6 quarters...then he gets on the coaches show and assures us there are no issues with the secondary. Claims the only issue is the team didn't play "tough enough". When pressed on why that was he offers nothing. Irving gave him every chance to explain it and he flat out refused. Irving asked him why. MOS was unable/unwilling to give an answer. Irving asked him again saying there must be a reason...and MOS said well there are reasons but they will just sound like excuses...and refused to expand on it. Irving then asked him if the reason they weren't tough enough was because MOS didn't properly prepare them. MOS says that as a coach you're always wondering if the things you say or do are right...whether they're valid and have meaning...you're always inspecting that. Irving says...and did you come up with anything? MOS...nothing new...hahaha. Yeah...hilarious...smh If he can't hold himself accountable how can he hold anyone else accountable
  15. Yeah but if you lose in Vegas they don't keep taking your money after you leave the casino
  16. I see a hope/suggestion...where is a conspiracy implied?
  17. Do you know that entire scene was contrived by Disney and lemmings don't actually commit mass suicide by flinging themselves off cliffs...and that species of lemming doesn't migrate? Nor are they native to Alberta where the scene was filmed. Disney brought the lemmings to the site and placed them on a rotating platform and flung them off the cliff themselves. They conspired to deceive their viewers for profit.
  18. Perhaps I should have said..."assuming your contention is correct..." being the best of a bad lot doesn't make you good.
  19. That's a pretty subjective benchmark. He may be the best in 20 years but that doesn't necessarily/automatically make him the best/right guy for the job. Being the best of a horrible lot doesn't mean you're good.
  20. If your knee starts jerking that's the sign you've had enough.
  21. Money may not be able to buy happiness but you'll be able to park your yacht close enough to walk over and visit it.
  22. Impulse control?
  23. Isn't he down south in the XFL or something?
  24. Yep. Getting pretty tired of the "guys love playing for Mike" line. Some of my favourite teachers were the ones that asked the least of me...that pressed me the least...that held me the least accountable. It's human nature to choose the path of least resistance whether it's in our best interests or not. Being liked doesn't make someone the best choice for a given task.
